Love it. Rare videos that don't waste your time seeking time slider. Few tricks easy to remember and then practice till there will be dents in my piano! Thanks so much!
I thought I knew all the basslines, but there are 3 variations here new to me. Great for hand independence and coordination (yeh, sounds mad!). Jay, you're a hero sir, I love your stuff, thank you!!
I'm so excited to see more things, I hope I can fall asleep now ))) By the way, at what time do You go to bed ? And what time doYou want it to be ? :-)
i've noticed that you have used that reverse pattern(#6) before. thanks for showing us the details. somewhere i came up with the reverse version of #2 when i was horsing around with that mongo jerry song"in the summertime" and now i have a tough time doing the C-G first then the Eb-E. i also have a tough time with the pinetop bass which is like #2 with the chop: C+G, C+G, Eb,E,C+G,C+G, C+A,C+G. yeah, i just have not played enough reps to lock those in yet.
Greetings! What woud be the proper fingering on tthe "chop" in C, to add the dominant 7 (Bb). I have be using My #2 (forefinger) on My left hand. Thank You
Thanks for your comment... there's no set fingering... some people prefer to use the left thumb to play the G and A (when on the C bar) however I prefer to use my forefinger for G and thumb for A and alternate between them .👍
Thanks Jay. I play the Albert Ammons lick and the chop in my latest video. Boogie Woogie Piano Medley - Swanee River, In The Mood, You Are My Sunshine. I'm teaching myself to play at age 64 and recently started my own YT channel.
Any tips on how to improve/come up with things to play in the right hand? My boogie woogie sounds boring since I only know a select few riffs, I'd like to improvise more on my own. Does just playing the blues scale on top of the 12 bar blues work with boogie woogie?
