Since becoming a mom, I've learned to be thrifty and also stylish. *hotdups* bags have helped me find the perfect balance between parenting and myself.
When I fly and rent a car, I bring a good quality all-in-one lanyard with a small zippered pouch and key ring that I wear around my neck all day. I have a cute Lilly Pulitzer one. I attach the rental car key fob to it, and my house key. I put cash in it and one credit card, an extra health insurance card (or other card with ID iinfo), and my hotel door card. I can get all mixed up while traveling and using rental cars, and it gives me peace of mind to keep these things around my neck. I wear it every day while traveling from the time I leave my house until I get home. Lilly Pulitzer still sells them but now you buy the lanyard and ID case-key fob separately and attach them.
I love all those containers and items but I'd also like to see how they would all fit in a weekend bag or small carry on. It seems like a lot of stuff to take besides clothes and everything else.
✈️ I am having so much fun going through your videos 😊I am 53 so you would think I’d have my travel essentials down pat but they are ever changing 🤦🏻♀️ One I have to have is my water tumbler (just upgraded from 30oz to 40oz). I take it into the airport empty and fill ‘er up once I’m at the gate waiting or at a layover. It’s also in the car with me on the road.
The med pouch and the firestick pouch are necessities for all trips. The older I get the more different meds are possibly needed during traveling (tylenol, pepto bismol, benadryl, inhaler, tums, etc).✈
I would like to know how you pack toiletries to conform to TSA rules? I love the makeup bags you shared, but it looked like you show liquids in them& larger than allowed dry shampoo ?? I struggle with the quart baggies all the time
✈️ Hi Madison, I travel with almost the same things you carry! I use a backpack with a trolley sleeve instead of a tote. I love clear pouches for everything including my tech. I have the bag like yours and use it at home, but use a smaller pouch when traveling. I pack a packable backpack for days my belt bag isn’t big enough. I have the same pill case as you keep in your work bag and I have a larger one, but I’m Gogo get the large one you have as I take 8 prescriptions, plus vitamins and Advil. I have a lot of well organized cosmetic bags from the Lug brand (I love their totes, crossbody bags and travel bags). I have the pillow set too (from Lug). I have the TSA quart bag, hanging toiletry bag and long, narrow packing cube for straightens or flip flops from the Tripped brand and their compression packing cubes. I always use AirTags on every bag and luggage. I’m going to check out the expanding toiletry case you have. Everyone is using them, but they do look cheap. I’ll see if you have a link for yours. ✈️ I just got back from flying non-stop London to Vancouver BC, and still feeling jet lagged! Vegging in front of the fire and watching what I SHOULD have brought with me on the trip! 😂 The hanging toiletry is perfect for international travel. There was no counter in our bathroom! ✈️Absolutely loved this video! So many great suggestions! I’m a pretty efficient traveler but I did save some of the items you shared. I really like the idea of having a light packable travel blanket for long trips.👍🏼 Something I always travel with is a plastic document folder with a zipper. For itinerary, printouts, receipts, tickets, maps, etc. It’s a catch all for papers. Thank you for sharing! You never disappoint!😊
I have a pouch just for snacks which I also stash napkins in. I also carry a Travelon reusable towel that clips to my bag and a reusable silicone straw. Towel is a lifesaver when there’s no towels in bathrooms or just icky doorknobs, etc. But I also have a case for my epipen. The case holds my inhaler as well as some migraine meds, aspirin and other miscellaneous stuff I may need quick so I’m not digging out a pill container. Clips to my bag and makes it easier for TSA as you can just hand it to them for physical screening. Really recommend for anyone traveling with an epipen or inhaler. Epipen and inhalers set off the machines every time if they’re in a tote or weekender.
Hey Madison ✈️✈️, some really good suggestions for traveling. I absolutely need those clear pouches when I travel for all my makeup and the pill organizer. I take so many vitamins, so that is some thing that is necessary when I travel. I like the pillow and blanket suggestion..

✈️ earbuds are a must!! I have a small travel blanket I got from a SF Giants baseball game. Use it as a head/neck pillow and unfolds as a small cozy blanket for lounging when in hotel room.
✈️ great choices. I like to always have a pashmina with me. It doesn’t take up any space in your bag and can be used as a blanket or shawl. I keep it in my larger purse for restaurants and malls that always seem to be freezing.
Loved the material in the spanx knock off travel set but the legs were SO long and pretty big. I returned it. I know you are 5’2” like me. Do you hem yours? I wish they made a shorter version. Any suggestions? Love all your videos.
