Micro/Tiny homes that cost more than I can buy an existing full sized home or build a new home here in Ohio. I bet these things only look like a deal to the west coast USA where the cost of living and home prices are out of sight.

Not anymore! Prices on mobile homes have gone up so much, you would be lucky to find anything under $120,000. A used one, sure, especially if you find someone that doesn’t understand the market. But new? No.

microhaus looks awesome but curtains seem problematic unless they are built in

Electric rollers to either side can open and close curtains rather easily without drooping. Or an electric roll shade / accordion shutter can do the trick nicely.

Hi, I don't have a dedicated video just on cheapest housing options, but perhaps I should make one. I saw one recently really cheap prefab starting at about 35 - 42k. Really sorry to heat that mam. Hard to give advice, I'm not an expert, and there are many things to consider like if someone has land, regulations... One company I featured before makes these small kit houses - bosstinyhouse.com/, basically ADUs. They are in the range of little over 10k usd. Other people before in the comments suggested getting a used RV. Of course those are more temporary solutions. I would suggest to see if there are any organizations gov or non-gov that can offer some information and assistance in your area. Or check if there are any mobile or modular housing depos in your area where they might offer some discount units. Of course one still needs a plot to put it on. Sorry if my suggestions are not helpful, wish I could be of more assistance.

They are great prefab homes but calling them affordable is absolutely ridiculous. Anyone who would spend over $35000 for a prefab would be better off to spend it for a stick built house.

35K for a PreFab home is cheaper than any stick built home in USA and cheaper than the 50K Recreational Vehicle I just bought to live in. The land lot alone in the town I live in is going to cost you at least 50-60K. So I would gladly spend 35K on a PreFab home if I could get a lot far enough away from everyone else.

Hahaha..have you been watching the prices on stick built homes? No, you cannot get stick built for that cheap, even if you do all the work yourself.

Let me clarify my statement. It would be better to spend $35k on a stick built house than a prefab. For resale value reasons.

@@joeebear fair point, yes. However, this is an option for some applications. And some of those prefabs are as good as a stick built. It really comes down to the science behind them.

People are not meant to live in boxes. “A place to put elders…”?? As a society, we need to do better than this. These are very expensive, and don’t address the problems of isolation and homelessness. I’d love to see these technological solutions applied in a more humane way.

You call $195,000 AFFORDABLE LIVING? WTF!!! That price for a PreFab houase is WAY too high! Go build a regular house for that much and it wont fly apart during a storm!

Affordable Housing is an oxymoron. Everything government does in the housing space makes housing more unaffordable. Every year we graduate another batch of fools who think someone else should do something to house people. If you want to give away houses, go make enough money to give away houses. If you bothered to READ SKEPTICALLY and do some actual research, you’d see all the things you think are solutions have been tried and are really inefficient. Wait, I think I’m taking things in the wrong direction. You people aren’t at all serious. You just want to be seen as a person who cares. Well, guess what. It’s about over. The world is catching on. Don’t be surprised if you find more and more that when you start virtue signaling people don’t start challenging you to ask what you’ve done YOURSELF to affect ACTUAL change. Rant over.

@@Hardtimes330 Depending on where you live. Here, our government owns a portion of rental housing, but most is operated by a 'professional' nonprofit. This allows their friends to earn a good living exploiting taxpayers and poor.

if they can't even build a tiny home for under $75 k then their homes should be thrown im the landfill ! i can build my own home with land and fully furnished for under $80k
