1 Delicious beef & cauliflower pie 320 calories (1 serving)
Ingredients
7 oz cauliflower florets
2 tbsp milk
1 tbsp cream cheese
salt and black pepper
1/4 medium red onion
1 tsp olive oil
1/4 medium carrot
1 garlic
4 oz ground lean beef
1 oz frozen peas
1 oz frozen corn
parsley
Preheat oven to 350°. Add cauliflower florets in boiled water and cook until tender, 10 minutes. Drain well, and mash with a potato masher until smooth.
Stir in cream cheese and milk and season with salt and pepper and mash until completely combined and creamy. Set aside.
In a large skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Add onion, carrots, and garlic and cook until softened, 5 minutes. Add ground beef and cook until no longer pink, 5 minutes more.
Stir in frozen peas and corn and cook until warmed through, 3 minutes more. Season with salt and pepper.
Transfer the mixture to oven glass dish and top with an even layer of mashed cauliflower and bake 20 minutes or until is golden.
Garnish with parsley and serve.
2 Beef egg muffin 170 calories (4 serving)
Ingredients
1 lb ground lean beef
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
salt and black pepper
3 egg white
3 eggs
1 tbsp parsley
salt and black pepper
1 medium tomato
1 oz grated mozzarella
Preheat oven to 390°.
In a medium bowl, add the beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika. Use hands to combine. set aside.
In a separate bowl, add the eggs, salt and pepper and whisk until combined. Add the chopped tomatoes, mozzarella and parsley. Set aside.
Divide the meat among the muffin tin openings, pressing to form cups. Pour some egg mixture into each meat cup.
Bake for 30 minutes. Allow to cool before serving.
3 High protein beef cauliflower fried rice 310 calories (1 serving)
Ingredients
1 tsp olive oil
1 1/2 cup riced cauliflower
salt and black pepper
5 oz ground lean beef
1 garlic
3 oz broccoli florets
1 tsp soy sauce
salt and black pepper
4 veggie spinach rolls 60 calories (5 serving)
Ingredients
8 oz frozen spinach leaves
3 egg whites
1 egg
1/4 low fat mozzarella cheese
salt and black pepper
1 clove garlic
1 tsp olive oil
1/2 onion
1/2 red bell pepper
1 medium carrot shredded
1.5 tbsp parsley
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400° F (200° C).
Thaw the spinach and squeeze out the water.
Mix spinach, 3 egg whites, mozzarella, half the salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
Place parchment paper on a baking sheet and spray with cooking spray. Move the spinach mixture to the sheet and press it flat, about 8x12 inches in size and roughly ½ an inch thick.
Bake for 15 minutes. When done, set aside to cool on a rack.
Finely chop onion and parsley. Grate the carrots.
Fry the onions and garlic in a skillet with oil. Add carrots and parsley and let it simmer for about 2-3 min. add the other half of the salt, and pepper and mix briefly.
Flip the spinach mat and take the skillet off the heat and add an egg. Mix it all together and spread the filling over the now cool spinach mat.
Roll up the spinach mat and filling. Bake for 25 minutes.
Cut it into 5 slices.
5 Stuffed bell pepper rings with veggies 90 calories (4 serving)
Ingredients
2 bell peppers
1 tsp olive oil
1 clove garlic
1/2 onion
1 mushroom
salt and black pepper
4 oz ground turkey
1.5 tbsp parsley
1 egg white
1/4 tsp italian seasoning
4 tbsp tomato sauce
Preparation
Pre-heat the oven to 350° f.
Slice bell peppers into rings. Finely chop up bottomsto be added into the turkey mixture.
Heat oil in a medium skillet and saute garlic onion, mushroom, chopped bell pepper, for about 5 minutes or until the onion becomes translucent. Stir in the salt, pepper.
Transfer mixture to a large bowl and add in turkey, egg, parsley, italian seasoning. Mix thoroughly. Divide the mixture evenly among the 4 bell pepper rings and place on a baking sheet.
spread tomato sauce over the mini meatloafs.
Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes.
Top with extra parsley and ENJOY!!
6 broccoli crust pizza recipe 300 calories (1 serving)
Ingredients
1 medium head broccoli
1 egg
salt and black pepper
1/4 tsp italian seasoning
1/4 cup + 1 tbsp low fat mozzarella cheese
3 tbsp tomato sauce
1/4 onion
1/4 red bell pepper
1 mushroom

I think many people are comparing these recipes to the keto diet. If you approach them as coming off a unhealthy diet of bread, cakes, fried food, take aways etc, then they are lower carb options than you would normally eat, therefore healthier. I've started to reduce my carbs because of diabetes and try to choose healthier options which contain more fibre. So even though the peas and corn are classed as high carb on keto, your body doesn't absorb all as it's pooped out. They keep you fuller longer. I try to stick to meat, and veg, some containing complex carbs, and have lost weight

Hi.. I was just told I need to go on a low carb diet not for diabetes but high cholesterol.. When you say meat and veggies what do you use, how do you prepare them etc? I'm totaly lost on this stuff so just as basic as possible

The sort of meals I had would be chilli with mixed beans. Cottage pie with 5% far minded beef topped with carrot and swede mash plus veg on the side. Chicken curry with chick peas or butter beans, to bulk it out and full you up. Piri piri roast chicken with home made Cole slaw using white cabbage, celery, gerkins, carrot onions and peppers. Little bit of mayonnaise and cider vinegar. When I make a pasta type sause I use tin tomatoes and a mix of Mediterranean veg, with added butternut squash and cook it down. I think it's fats you need to be careful of especially the ones hidden in pies, pastries biscuits etc so lean meats, good fats like olive oil, plenty of veg, beans. I have eggs or yoghurt and fruit for breakfast. There is plenty of info online for help to lower cholesterol. I hope this helps

Man when I was 15 I weighed 271lbs which is a bummer because every time I sleep it was difficult for me to get some rest but now 2021 this year i weighed 217lbs which I lost over 54.1lbs which I'm more relieved 😌 and happy at the same time *update* : I WEIGHED NOW 213.6lbs 😃😊

Everything looks good in principal, but everything is BONE DRY! There has to be a way to have a sauce or something? And the broccoli crust pizza is a very interesting idea, but way too soft. If you can crisp it up then I'm there!

Use some beef or vegetable stock in a large mug, boiling water, let that dissolve. In a blender, throw in some sautéed mushrooms and some cooked smoked bacon, like 2 pieces. Blend, then incorporate into the stock, throw in the pan, reduce to desired volume and throw in oven with cauli mash on top. This is like an umami bomb for the food.

First of all we have to define what ‘low-carb” means. Are we looking at total carbs per day or total carbs per meal because for me, 21g carbs in a meal is not exactly low carb

I don't know if you would consider, carrots, sweet onion and peas low carb. It's healthy eating. However, not low carb. Then it depends on a person's desired carb consumption. I don't see this recipe working with a ketosis plan.

For anyone who can't stand cauliflower or is just plain sick of it lol another good veg to use for a low carb replacement for potatoes is cooked radish- you can use regular red radishes or even better diakon radish if you can find it. It won't have the same amount of nutrients, but it has more of a starchy texture while still being much lower carb. When you cook them they lose their peppery taste and have the same flavor and texture as a potato.

If I were to make the spinach roll, I would've used the 2 yolks taken out of the spinach layer, and put it in the pepper filling, instead of cracking another egg. I don't like to waste eggs.

I was having a pizza with my friend when he said he was on a diet and pizza is his regular cheat meal and part of diet plan he got from Agoge Diet. I thought he was crazy, but after a month I noticed his body has changed a lot. He looked better than ever. I should really visit that website

These are mostly nice, but everyone should keep in mind what their target daily calories are, which cannot be too low or too high. If you're male you should consume 11x(desired weight in pounds) each day, to maintain that weight. Naturally, if you consume that diet, while above that desire weight, you will gradually lose weight. But you have to feel full as well, so you don't break and eat a bunch of low calorie low filling foods.

There’s actually not THAT many carbs. Also, carbs are essential even when losing weight. Low carb means cutting things out like potatoes and bread, not vegetables!

Jennifer Brosnan Nah, it’s a good bit of carbs. 21 grams for the veggie pie thing? Ground beef has no carbs usually. And cauliflower is fairly low carb. Most of those carbs are the starches.

shayshay you are recommended to eat 200+ a day (obviously less if you are on a diet) but 21 grams is still healthy. You can’t say vegetables are bad for you because they have carbs, they are literally the best thing you could eat.

I want to make the recipe with broccoli. But replace beef with turkey. And mashed cauliflower instead of rice cauliflower. 😊 I feel like I need protein. 💖 Yeah, there is low carb vegan. But, hard to figure out which way to go...😊 I feel my body craves more meat. Spinach roll liked like sushi. 😆

For the spinach roll, I'm wondering how well it'll hold together as "wrapper", has somebody tried different spread thickness? Also, I imagine a filling with asparagus and/or red swiss chard would look similarly pretty and be lower in carbs than carrots and red pepper. Or maybe some sort of eggplant/zucchini or tofu and cheese filling with rosemary might work. I like how many of these recipes give ideas but leave space for variation.

I made that wrap several times and it held. But cutting it was a nightmare and it fell apart completely when i tried. But i guess that depends on how thick you make it.

@@TheaTheGenius I made it last weekend just for trying it out. I recommend oiling the parchment paper before you bake the wrapper because it's very difficult to peel off that intact. I made it fairly thick (like. 8mm or so?) and it held well for both rolling and cutting, I was surprised. However, my filling was super bland and it made the whole thing boring and not worth it. Perhaps a strongly tasting cheese or chili in the filling would have given it a kick, and it really needs a different texture like roasted walnuts or something for a crunch. Maybe olives..
