In this pov street photography video, I walkabout Soho in London with the Hasselblad XCD 25V wide angle lens and take street photos from daytime into the night. Using the X2D medium format camera with 100MP of resolution, you can achieve brilliant quality images even in low light and high ISO. I also show you my process, camera settings and how to take handheld long exposures!

Not sure what you meant about a FF camera struggling @ 3200 iso, I frequently shoot at 6400 iso w/o issues I would love an X2D for that ibis and those rich but not oversaturated colors

Street photography is usually photographed manually. X2D is an excellent camera, but not very suitable for the street. If you like to shoot on automatic and autofocus, cameras from Sony will be better. And so, there is nothing better than Leica for street photography. IMHO

Hello and thank you very much for the helpful lens introduction. Would you help with a question? I use the XCD 21mm for astro and I'm thinking about switching to the 25mm V because of the larger aperture. Does it make sense? Or should the 25mm always be dimmed down a bit, for example to avoid coma? Thanks in advance. Best regards. Matthias

Nice video. I don't own the 25mm but have the older 30mm which is also a great lens - a bit heavy but a solid performer. I don't really understand Hasselblad's lens strategy. Seems like they are making newer lenses that compete with the older XCD lineup and sometimes with the v lenses themselves. I wish they would focus (pun intended) a bit more on the telephoto end of the lineup or the Tele converters, extension rings, Tilt/Shift adapters and other accessories. That said, I love my X2D and the lenses I already have.

The reduction of noise at night is great. The photos were edited by photoshop/lightroom or not ?

As always super pro , thanks for that. I’ve just ordered the 28mm F4 v lens, can you advice if should I change it to the 25? Considering the size of the 28, it’s a thought… I’ll be glad to get your advice. Thx
@nelsonclub7722
@nelsonclub7722 Месяц назад
Pro here - the 28 is a 'budget' (?) lens from Hass - made akin to the 45 P where the P stands for Portable - often confused for 'pancake' The 45p is a terrible lens but also brilliant - it's convex front element does very weird things to skies for instance - but its budget friendly so theres that The 28mm therefore being f4 whereas the 25 is 2.5 so is slower - if you can afford the 25 it is also obviously wider then the 28 so you can crop nicely - but most importantly it is properly built. In our studio we have 2X2D's and a 907xCFV100c among our big arsenal of cameras - and just to help the 90mm 2.5 for instance when tested came out as the sharpest lens EVER to be tested at 3000 nits - almost double of any other lens - with that said the 25 is heavier - we have the following - 90mm 2.5, 55mm 2.5 and the 38mm 2.5 - we had a 28 on order (stock due in June) but we changed this today for the 25 - Have fun

Is the 25v better optic than the 38v is the 38v better optic as it’s newer? Which lens works better with xpan mode?

Hi Mark! For the first photo of a person sitting in a restaurant, why did you set your ISO to 800 and SS to 1/360s? I’m new to photography and trying to understand if we could have lowered the ISO a bit and adjusted the SS to something like 1/200s to bring in the more light? That would have lowered the noise in the image also. Is my understanding correct? Any particular reasons why you chose those settings? Trying to understand your thought process here. I understand your camera can handle the noise really well. But other cameras like mine (Sony a6700) wouldn’t produce as clean image as yours. Thank you
@nelsonclub7722
@nelsonclub7722 Месяц назад
Your understanding is spot on - however there are times when a setup is good for many shots in varied locations and there is not always time to change them from scene to scene

How do you handle privacy and people’s consent when single people are clearly recognised? As I know in Germany and other countries, you need at least 16 People on an image otherwise for public images the have to give you consent to publish.
