The idea with the old school sink was great. But get permission before drilling holes into a rental! When your time is up, you will get dinged for it.

I wish my mind were blown, but..... Drilling in my rented apartment's walls goes against the lease (command strip products only), and I would have to do a lot of purchasing to utilize these ideas. Which I realized the last half-dozen or so times these ideas were presented to us. Sigh....
