Thank you all for your support, and I mean it. Brotato has taken the channel performance to a whole new level and it's absolutely stunning. Not only that, but in my past experience modded videos were not taken all too well, but here the average like vs dislike ratio is HIGHER than on Brotato videos which is usually 97%, while this one here is 98.3%. May not sound like a lot, but modding often goes down to 95-90% in past videos.
Speaking of not giving time for people to try the bonkers stuff: they are nerfing the Devil back down to 13 materials per HP instead of 10. So if you want to go for the craziest amount of HP, you might want to do it on the stable version before the next update.
I bought this game about a month ago and then I found out the Dev is nerf-bat happy and a certain RU-vidr, (cough *RETO* cough), apparently has his ear. I will show you respect Dex, (because I do respect you), and only mention that name once but it is important. Like I said I believe the Dev takes what he says way to seriously and does things just to make that one person happy at times. That particular RU-vidr has a tendency to call things "Broken" or "Overpowered" when they are simply fun and don't break the game for the average player. Then of course as soon as a video drops where he does that, (calling things "Broken/Overpowered"), whatever he's talking about gets nerfed. Case in point he dropped a video about the Hunter with the Crossbow and immediately after that video dropping both the character and weapon were nerfed into the ground. He was forced to mention to people that they had been nerfed after his video was posted. This is a Vampire Survivor or Bullet Storm/Hell type of game and not a Roguelite or at least that is what it said on the tin so to speak when I bought it. It's also a single play game with no competitive play nothing about it would indicate it requires constant balancing or nerfs. So my question is why Nerf or Balance things that do not truly break the game as in make it unplayable? This should be about becoming so insanely overpowered that if you do it right the game is a cake walk. Of course it doesn't help that there is no endless or infinite mode. I don't know if I'm going to keep this game and have yet to play it so I can easily refund it on Steam if the Dev continues to be so nerf happy and refusing to listen to the majority of his customers. Of course if he continues to refuse to add an endless or infinite mode like so many have asked for that's another reason to refund the game. These things tell me it isn't about the general customer or the vast majority of players but instead catering to a few who think they're the one/ones to speak for us all about the game. (Please know I'm not talking about you Dex, Sifd, DF or many others). There's also the insane costs in the shop to think about. There are a good many weapons and upgrades that the vast majority of people will never get to use and even the top 1% of players will only be able to buy them on perfect runs or super lucky runs. That's just not fun to see all those cool things you can never use unless you get insanely lucky or throw an entire run just to get them. I'm not talking about you at all Dex and I hope you can understand what I'm saying. I'm also not meaning any disrespect talking about this on your channel and I hope you don't see it that way. I would love to be able to play this mod you've created and I can say with certainty now the modding community is the only thing stopping me from getting a refund for the game right now. Unless the Dev stops catering to just a select few and puts down the nerf bat or keeps refusing to listen about adding an endless/infinite mode, I think I'm going to be out very soon. Sorry to all those that love this game and please know I really, really wanted to love it to. That's why I bought the game after all but if the Dev continues to be what I can only refer to as anti-fun at this point I'm out... Thanks for reading my rant if you do and feel free to flame me in the replies to this comment if you must but you know what I've said is what a lot of us are thinking about this game and many of the changes both made and not made...
One of the new characters I unlocked on the first wave. Just use Bull, and kite the enemies untill the last few seconds. Make sure they're grouped together tight, then boom. Also, the new crossbow is excellent. Love this update.
and the Crossbow as well as the Hunter have already been nerfed thanks to another RU-vidr that appears to have the Devs ear and a tendency to call things "Broken" or "Overpowered" in almost every video he does on this game...
I don't understand why many developers these days are so obsessed with balancing. This is a pure fun game that you play for one or two rounds after work or before going to bed. It actually makes it less interesting if you just have to play serious everytime. Vampire Survivor does this right - there is so much crazy stuff you can test out and everytime it is fun to see how far you can push it.
There are games for different people. E.g. when Vampire Survivors came out, it was the perfect timing for me. I had lost interest in League a while ago due to the competetive and toxic nature, and while I spent 500+ hours in Monster Hunter World and Kenshi, I honestly just wanted to have fun without falling asleep. That's VS for me. The perfect fit for any moment. However, when I want to feel challenged, then VS is not the right thing. Something like Brotato is my choice there. Brotato is to feel accomplished, Vampire Survivors is to feel good Though, I don't 100% get the point. Prior to this change, the Danger 2 and 4 addition was more item cost and less material, which was really annoying, as in, in a boring way. Since you had to min-max a lot more it meant you had a very small window of options to have fun. Now, it's more challenging but you can go for more things
Yes, in Brotato when turn 20 ends and I had a great run, I mostly feel dissapointment as you normally finalize your desired build in round 18-20 and then you only had 1 or 2 rounds to enjoy it. I think there should be more option to prolong a run.
So far no, I plan to spread put more but these are vastly different and even similar games tend to perform rather meh (as in similar to my content). What would be the challenge :)?
@@DexTag Just to beat the final wave using only melee weapon :) Everyone goes guns with One-Armed. You don't need to go all out with Danger 5. I just would love to see 1 melee weapon run ^^
One thing I will warn. Got to be careful with modding. As much as you do OWN the copy of this game. The game devs can get upset with you. All because you are technically "Modifying THEIR Code". Not that they can't do much about it. Yet, they will attempt to sound really big and scary and mean. Yet, by the end of the day. You OWN that copy of the game. IT IS YOUR COPY. AND it is on YOUR machine, aka computer. It really isn't theirs anymore. Now, I know can get into legal trouble if you attempt to SELL your modded version of the game and claim it as your own. That is the legal grounds the game devs can come after you. BUT, changing things for your own personal fun. They have no legal ground. Even though some bigger studios have been trying for years to stop this. Even trying to take legal actions in attempting to pass LAWS to stop modding. So. Modding is that really really really really grey area. And I'll end here. I could go on and on about it. I personally love modding. It either adds new life to an old game or fix freaking issues that game devs ignore or stopped working on. All because, X title didn't make the record profits their overlords wanted. So that team is either gone or moved onto another project. So, I am all in favor for modding. Not knocking you for doing it. In fact, rather cool you did it. Just on a side note: I will now have to unsubscribe from you for that Galtato in a bikini.................no.....(No, I am not unsubscribing)
