At this moment in time you can hardly argue against it anymore. If we want to avoid a future of climate breakdown, extreme weather events and ecological collapse, we need a transition to renewable energy and a rapid one at that. Said like this, the goal seems simple, technology will give us the solution. But the world is not on track to meet the goals of the Paris climate agreement, and the longer the world deviates from the path to net zero, the harder it will be to get back on it.
