If you are not supposed to buy a house straight up, where are you supposed to live in the meantime? Paying rent to someone else's mortgage and losing that money or paying off your own mortgage and investing into your portfolio. Have I missed something here.
Rentvesting is where you rent where you live but you invest while enjoying a comfortable lifestyle. There are many costs associated with buying a home and if you want to tap into the home equity, sometimes you can't access it unless you have a high enough income. Whereas investing while you rent brings in passive income and if need be you can sell those investments, but you can't sell your house or else you won't have a roof over your head....
