I remember when Colleen thought the nicu journey would never end. Now look at them! Chubby, cute, happy, giggly, stunning babies 🥹💜 Let’s not forget how much they absolutely adore Flynn 🥹 Colleen and Eric have the most precious little family and I’m so happy I got to be there to watch it 🥹🥰
They are SO ADORABLE! ❤️ My son is about to turn 6 months old next week. You and I were pregnant at the same time and I even found out I was pregnant the same day you did (April 16th 2021). Feels like I’m going through motherhood with you since my friends either have way older children or don’t have kids at all.
My baby is 6 months actual 4 adjusted with a brain injury. It’s so hard to remind myself that his milestones will come on his own time frame. I love your kids. They are the sweetest souls!
You’re brave and amazing. I also had a preemie who didn’t just have weight gain and time issues. Things like milestones are different and different times but just as beautiful and important. You’re a warrior!
❤️Please don't be too hard on yourself. Even babies with seemingly no setbacks can hit milestones later than "average". Every person is different, from the moment they're born🥰 You're doing amazingly.
Cherish every moment. So many people told me when I was pregnant with my daughter 6 years ago how fast it goes and to really hold on to the moments. Girl I'm telling you, it doesn't go fast, it disappears before your eyes! Even when you're frustrated and at your wit's end, they're only little for a short period of time and try to remind yourself of that. Make memories and hold her close. She'll be starting kindergarten before you know it! Congratulations by the way 😊
Being a boy/girl twin is the absolute best gift in life. We’ve been best friends our whole lives and now we get to be best friends with each other’s partners.
I hope this doesn't come across as mom shaming or rude or anything. Just passing info along that you can look into yourself of course. But I've read that you shouldn't use the bumbo seats to even teach babies to sit, but especially not feed them in it because it makes them sit in an improper position and compresses their torsos which can lead to regurgitating and/or choking. I could be wrong. I haven't looked into it all that much because I've never wanted or needed them for my kiddos. But better safe than sorry.
Why does Wesley get twice the fabric for his clothes? long sleeves and pants but Maisy is bare arm and leg? I know it's the "manufacturer" but it's also a parent choice.
My first daughter had crystal blue eyes like Maisy, they turned brown out of no where when she was close to 4. My 2nd daughter also had super blue eyes & right around 3 now they are hazel. I had my last baby 8 months ago & he has had Grey eyes the entire time so I am assuming he will have hazel eyes too.
They are so cute. I can’t wait to watch them to continue to grow. I can’t believe that I was watching when they were in the nicu and now they are home and 6 months old. Love this channel and the vlog channel I watch the vlog channel all the time.
Just FYI to other new or future moms: bumbo chairs are not recommended by pediatric physical therapists because of potential developmental issues that can occur
My grandsons doctor recommended bee get one. ALL KIDS ARE DIFFERENT WHAT IS GOOD FOR ONE IS NOT ALWAYS GOOD FOR THE OTHER. Let this woman parent the way she feels she needs to
@@michellesantos460 🤔 the comment wasn't directed at her. As parents we all do things that aren't recommended to get by, but it's nice to know all the facts and make an informed decision.
They are SO cute❣️ I remember when my twin girls were babies and one of them was a better sleeper and I would let her sleep, I did not wake her up in the middle of the night if the other one did so I agree with you let him sleep 💖 And I also would keep them up in the evenings, no late afternoon naps, get them really tired out and then put them down at the same time every night, for me that was 9pm because my husband worked late. I also put my better sleeper in a separate room starting at 6 months old because she was a much better sleeper. Hope this helps 💞 Keep working on a routine it will start to work 🙂
I've been here since you found out you were having Flynn! I haven't had much time to watch RU-vid, I've last seen you when the twins were 3/4 weeks old! It's great to see how much your family and channel have grown!! Love from Ireland xx
Did you know you’re only supposed to use the extra parts inside the Dr. Brown’s bottles for the first 3 months? I’m thankful I learned this when my baby was just over 3 months!
@@KatieeGloria I did some research and saw that the extra parts are only "effective" for babies under 3 months and that there's no major benefits for babies older than that. I didn't see any differences in my baby after removing them!
It’s actually not recommended to feed in a bumbo unless it’s the version with the tray. The sitting position isn’t the best for them when they are that young. I know there’s so much info out there. Congratulations ❤️
I had my preemie boy Dec 5th 2021 and he was born 6 weeks early…like right after you had your twins! I remember you helped me so much through the NICU and my baby is about to be 7 months and I came back to check on you and yours and I’m just obsessed with how adorable they are!! They are doing wonderful. YOU are doing wonderful!! 🥰
I found out that you were having twins shortly after the time that I found out that I was having twins, but my boy and girl are a month old. Even so, I love seeing another twin mom who understands what I'm going through.
@@jaredvecchio not sure if it's a bot or just a desperate person wanting attention n begging for subscribers(the name). imagine gettingvalidation by begging strangers for likes n subs.... They commented this exact same comment on the last 3 videos of hers
I can’t believe that Maisy and Wesley are already over half a year old! 😱🙊 They are so precious and I love seeing their personalities develop as they grow and Flynn is such an incredible big brother! 💗 Erik and you are such incredible parents and are doing a wonderful job raising all of your children. 💞
just found out I'm pregnant with my second baby! currently 5w 😊 my daughter LOVED the Tommee tippee binkies. she only liked a bink for like 6 months and then self weaned from them. but those are the best binks!
You need to do the taking cara babies class. Sleep is a lessened thing. You didn’t birth bad sleepers because you are a bad sleeper. They just need better sleep habits and routine. The taking cara babies class saved y life with my 8 month old twins.
Waiting for the tweet about how she's taking a break , might be some tears lol. Or she will vlog about being attacked . Colleen maybe watch your footage a couple times before you post , you may want to get a new therapist .
I am 18 years old living in Canada and huge fan of you. I am watching you since you were pregnant with the twins and I love you too much and love your life and pregnancy journey was so inspiring and emotional and I learned so many things from you. I will watch you and support you all through your life. Love you ❤
My baby is just over 2 months now. We spent a week in the NICU due to seizures. She’s thankfully hitting milestones as she should so far. But came to say it’s nice to see how well the twins are doing after having to be in the NICU for so long. You go mama!
I'm a twin! (the girl of a set of boy&girl lol) My brother and I are different, but that doesn't stop us from having fun. This video was really interesting to watch and I'm excited for the new update!!
Yes thank you, was excited for this when you mentioned it in the vlog.💚 Cracks me up that you think we don’t watch these. You should know by know we watch all your channels!!
Only just watching the video and I love how you still call moose your dog. Makes me happy how close you and kory are no matter if he does live somewhere else x
Body image: W is a big ole boy and M is a petite, cute girl. W loves to eat. M might look chunky in her face and neck but her body is pretty skinny. You used “skinny” “petite” for a baby girl. 😞 You use a voice emphasis and said your boy is big and likes to eat, encouragingly. I’m asking about YOUR WORDS. Your influence and issues here. How would you speak of them and to them about themselves if it were the opposite. Have you considered that your own personal self image issues with not feeling like yourself unless you’re thin, affecting your children? Its typical and stereotypical to say a boy is big and healthy when he’s chunky and rolly. Just curious if you have considered your own influence in these areas. I’ve heard you mention even before, how small and little your daughter is. MANY TIMES. Why is this important for a BABY Girl for you?
You’re really pushing this he’s a big chunky boy she’s skinny petite little girl thing it’s not healthy and you aren’t spreading a good message. We get it he’s big she’s little.
@@cassie6349 that’s exactly why. It will damage her in the long run that she’s expected to be slim and petite. She needs to stop now. Nothing wrong with talking about her babies size and weights on the updates but she CONSTANTLY compares the two. He’s big she’s little. Like it’s so cute and quirky. It’s not.
They are both average and healthy weight. She should have gotten her body image obsession under control before having kids. They don't deserve any of this. They will either have toxic vanity like her or extremely low self esteem. These patterns are very disturbing already.
Oh for fucks sake, she is so careful not to offend anyone or stay the wrong thing ever, you’ll pick apart anything she says and turn it into a negative. She’s one of the last “pure souls“ on RU-vid. Leave her alone and let her talk about her kids go troll someone else
so im just going off of my experiences as a nanny but kids from 5+ months, if they start liking colder milk, it usually coincides with teething because the cold feels really soothing on the gums
Is Maisy actually "petite?!" It sounds like she's in a fairly standard size range, no? Calling her "petite" and "skinny" and talking about how many calories she burns vs. her "big boy" Wesley is stressing me out, especially when those comments are coming from a mom who has been open about having her own body image struggles. I'm just hoping those issues don't get passed down-they can obviously be brutal to overcome. Could just be some language to be more aware of as they continue getting older.
I was also really alarmed by her comments regarding their weights. Specifically the comment that Maisey “burns more calories” than Wes. I personally wouldn’t think about the concept of babies burning calories. That seems like negative diet culture talk.
she’s 6 mo wearing 0-3mo clothing. she is petite. honestly growing up a girl in todays society means you’ll likely develop some sort of body image issue, but i don’t think colleen calling her petite will be the reason. she’s an infant. and happens to be small in comparison to her brother.
Colleen did say she fits in 3 month clothes so I think she can be considered petite since she's "double the age". The burning calories part has no bad connotation at all, if you see that as smth bad I guess you're the one who needs to remove the stigma around it; burning calories is a natural body process and its increased with an active lifestyle, having a more active behavior can lead to Maisy being smaller and burning calories is the thing to "blame" for it. Don't add a negative connotation to it when it wasnt meantioned with that intent
@@Corn22 Colleen bought her 6 month clothing in the vlog she posted today, and it seemed like that's what she's been doing in the past few vlogs when she's mentioned sizing, so it sounds like the norm is more around 6 months. But in general I just think those types of comments are a good thing to be aware of as someone who has boy-girl twins, especially when she's had a pattern of these types of comments in vlogs, and is fairly known for having negative self-talk about her own incredibly skinny body. She's mentioned more than once that the twin have "ruined" her body because she has some extra skin. I'm also not sure that "Maisy will probably have body image issues anyway" is a great approach-there are ways to mitigate it as a parent so to just write it off as inevitable is kind of scary to me. It's just important to keep these things in mind as kids reach an age where those sorts of messages start sinking into their brains. Same thing goes for the "dramatic & emotional" language, which has historically been used as negative comments against girls/women, and something she's said about Maisy since before she was born. I mean she literally said Maisy was the opposite of "lovely" Wesley in this video. Each individual comment might not be incredibly impactful on its own, but as a collection and ongoing overarching message, it can really add up. I just think maybe she could benefit from being a bit more choiceful and considerate with her words, as they're going to have a big impact.
I'm interested to know how much the adjusted age really matters. My best friend had a baby 1 week after you, and he was born on time. He still doesn't have teeth, he's not holding his own bottles, and he's not making sounds that sound like words. I know all babies progress differently, but I'm curious as to how much you think that adjusted age really matters now.
adjusted age really does matter especially when babies are born really early. even if some babies are naturally advanced, you still have to go by the adjusted age when it comes to their development. - from a mom who has a 30 weeker & 26 weeker :)
It does matter bc other babies are born the earliest 22 weeks and around 1lb so imagine that baby at 4 months, he/she wouldn’t weight or be as big as a 4 month old… Also most preemies don’t get adjusted their age until 2years old..
They have come so far!!! They are so cute and so big now. My uncle is fostering a 5 month old baby and when I baby sit him he loves to listen to y’all’s videos!!
Dear Sweet, Wonderful Colleen and Cory, I love your vlogs. I have a problem with the background music. It really messes with my hearing aid. I'm sorry to complain but just wondering if anyone else has said anything. Love from South Australia. Keep doing what you do. Xxxxxx
One of the most interesting and beneficial things to teach the youngins is how to breathe 🧘♀️ 🧘♂️ yea they naturally breathe already. But teaching them to breathe could help with stress if any at all and relaxation and could help with being grounded by being in control of there breathing. It’s very interesting how just breath work can make us feel. Amazing what you’ve done by the way.
Omg! I just finished watching the latest vlog a couple minutes ago and now MORE COLLEEN! Today has been a good day for me and this makes it even better!🎉😊❤
it makes me so sad you didn’t get your eating disorder under control before having kids. painful to see the toxic cycle repeating. why are you still not seeking help? money obviously isn’t a barrier…
First of all what are you talking about. This comment is probably triggering for people with real Ed. Colleen is fine, you need to mind your own business
Colleen has undeniable body issues and she's using language about the babies that should disturb even her most diehard fans. She won't get help if you keep enabling this. Shine a light on it. She could get better if she had enough people showing concern. Y'all have super glued wool over your eyes at the expense of these innocent children. It's not okay.
@@pocahontasthegreat wow have you been watching with your eyes closed? how dare you invalidate her stuggles the poor woman has admitted to only eating a carrot a day in the past. shes been body checking and starving herself since 2015. erik says she eats like a bird. you think the apple sauce diet is healthy? wake up. her content is extremely harmful for anyone with an ED. sorry pointing out the elephant in the room makes you uncomfortable
Hi all - just a quick note from a pediatric therapist...Bumbo seats do not help a baby practice sitting. They are totally fine for short periods of time when used safely, but because they completely support a "seated" position, they aren't going to help your baby sit independently. :)
I feel like the way you describe the physicality of your twins is exactly my children! My now 4 year old was 20 pounds at 6 months and super chill. My 4 month old daughter is the complete opposite. She LOVES to move and is much smaller in weight, but has a big head (85th percentile!)
Does no one find it weird that she is referring to 6 MONTH OLD as skinny and burning calories.. why do y’all keep supporting this? I would love to see how you defend this. Also your fans Colleen don’t need updates on your kids you can keep it to yourself.
@@laurenbobbit4232 I think all of these kids will be harmed by her distorted body image but especially Maisy. She's going to take the brunt of it. This is VERY upsetting and scary. We live in a sick society if she's a role model.
I didn't find it weird at all... I interpreted that not as her praising her for being skinny, but being a bit concerned about it and trying to rationalize why she might not be so chubby. I'm sure Colleen knows that chubby baby is a healthy baby, and if one of your two preemies is staying a bit small, as a mom you might be worried why she's "skinny". And you might talk to friends and family about why that is and conclude that she's maybe burning more calories than her twin because she's more active. And being active is great for a baby! So that thought process helps Mom realize there's nothing to worry about with her baby. I really don't see it as offensive, but if you don't understand raising a baby I can see how it would be weird.
as someone with an ED it's so depressing to hear you passing yours onto your infant daughter, that language is so toxic and damaging, get help before she's old enough to understand what you're saying
My LO is so much like Maisy! I had my baby a couple days before your twins (My due date was 12/10/22 and had her 11/3/22, so it blew my mind that we had babies within a week of each other) My baby girl is always happy and giggly and such. When she's mad, she's MAD. She loves to touch EVERYTHING!
Constantly referring to your daughter as dramatic and skinny, in addition to absolutely beaming with joy as you talk about how she BURNS CALORIES, is so irrefutably damaging and if you continue you will absolutely screw her up for the rest of her life. As someone with an eating disorder, I know how difficult it can be, but please try to keep yours in check so that you don't pass it on to your daughter. Think of every moment you looked in the mirror and hated what you saw, THAT is what you're setting your daughter up for with these comments.
Do you not hear yourself, Colleen??? What kind of parents refers to their baby as skinny and talks about them burning calories? Please get help for your own ED before you permanently harm Maisy! Your words are so dangerous. Stop obsessing over your daughter being "tiny and skinny". Eat more, regain some weight!!! Go get some therapy, your kids deserve a healthy mom..
She doesn’t care. She’s making $$$ of baby videos and Coldsore is obsessed with her own weight and body, so of course she’s destroying her kids self esteem right in the internet
i saw u on twitter saying bs about colleen and that was weeks ago. if u don't like her or her content, why don't u stop watching her?? it's literally that simple. ur clearly obsessed w her, admit it.
