Both parties are responsible if you sympathetic about hamas then i will sympathize with Israel, America did operations in other countries not in their own country.

Another major factor is that Hamas was deeply unpopular and even hated in Gaza. There were massive protests by the Gazan masses against Hamas before October 7th, which Hamas was brutally suppressing, albeit not completely successfully. During the war, the Gazan masses have continually protested against Hamas. Hamas would rather anti Hamas Gazans were killed or wounded by the IDF. And part of Hamas' strategy is to engineer this.

9:04 Resistance against occupation. I am left scratching my head. Who was occupying Gaza? What prevents Hamas from issuing its own currency? Release of hostages?

Jasmine, the world is racist to everyone new/outsider. Malaysia says Muslims are primary citizens and is called the Bumiputra rule (the rule name comes from Sanskrit!) . 3-4rrth generation Indians are not given citizenship! My question to both of you is this: All is well BUT a)in history why hasn't there been a single non-violent struggle. Everything that happens, happens by force- killings, bombs? Why hasent there been a single Martin luther king/ Gandhi/Mandela/ Aung San Suu Kyi in the muslim world. I am asking out of a desire to see one. b) There is TOTAL lack of unity esp from the Arabs towards this cause (the last was again the 10 day war!).

The muslim world has had many great peace makers. Including Hazrat Fatimah, who warms the hearts of all. Pir Kabir. Pir Bulleh Shah, Pir Baba Fareed. Pir Shirdi Sai Nath. Pir al-Hallaj. We can give over 50 additional names. But your point is mostly valid. I think the problem is that the good Palestinians are opposed by the global nonmuslim left. The global nonmuslim left de facto backs Hamas (and by extension Islamic Jihad and Lion's den.) They are the problem. If Dahlan or Salam Fayyad were leader of a united Palestine, Palestine would be another asian tiger economic miracle and be a far better partner and friend to Israel and the free world. In fact, Israelis would be seeking friendship with Palestinians, to benefit from the Palestinian socio-economic boom.

Isn't Iraq a generally successful democracy? Doesn't Iraq's PM Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani have a 69% approval rating, or higher than any other global leader I know about other than PM Modi? Isn't safety and security inside Iraq better than anytime since the 1970s? Isn't the Iraqi economy growing with Iraq getting a lot of high profile FDI from sunni Saudi Arabia? Isn't the Iraqi state slowly improving? Isn't the Iraqi private sector growing? We can disagree about why Iraq is succeeding. But don't we have to acknowledge that Iraq is succeeding? That Iraq has defeated the takfiri islamist extremists and driven them out of Iraq in a massive route? That Iraq has a capable air force, army, special forces (Iraq Counterterrorism Service)?

Jasmine, what progress do you think is being made? Isn't there regression? For example, a larger percentage of US doctors were ADOS in 1940 than in 2018. The socio-economic gaps between ADOS males and other Americans have widened massively since the early 1970s. ADOS were per capita victims of a far smaller percentage of US violent crime in the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s than now. Only 21% of US incarcerated were African American in 1926. Now an African American non latino male has a 1 in 24 chance of being murdered over the course of their life time. This ratio use to be far lower two generations ago. By many metrics hasn't the USA been deteriorating fast? The woke infiltration into US and global institutions has been a catastrophe for African Americans, African ancestry people in general all around the world, liberal muslims, muslim femnists, muslim lbgtq+, and for poor and lower middle class people all over the world. "Diversity" . . . isn't diversity shrinking?

In the West public opinion and the state's strategic aims have diverged in the past. Most notably during the Vietnam war. Now again it seems people are realizing what is going on in the strip. There is hope despite all the challenge because systems are in place in Western democracies and public opinion can force policy change be it slowly or quickly...In the subcontinent unfortunately the tendency is to see the Israel-Gaza conflict primarily through the religious prism and not humanitarian prism. In case of Muslims it works to the extent that over the course of the conflict Israel has been the main culprit. But the masks fall off when Hamas attacks innocent civilians and Muslims avoid talking about it, or put forward some conspiracy theory, or start victim blaming. For Hindus there is hardly any rationale basis for supporting what Israel is doing to Palestinians, and yet they do. Almost automatically resorting to victim blaming. Since Palestinians are Muslims they don't see any reason to check their moral compass! It's incredible.

no one will explicitly say what that idea or that ideology behind the movement of Taliban, Hamas, and other groups is publicly for political corrections pressure. Its not just anti-occupation movement but violence justified by religion. There are people that are exposing what is allowed and encouraged by the religious text. exmuslim sahil is a great example. He has to hide his identity due to potential of violence against him for leaving his religion.

You can say what the motivation is @HarshPatel-yh7cq I don't think it is accurate to say that Hamas is anti-occupation, since Hamas opposes the two-state solution. Hamas favors reunification into a utopian perfect one state solution governed by Shariah in the medium term. Hamas also wants to overthrow the Egyptian and Jordan and other governments. And taking over global society over the long run. Hamas uses these objectives as justification for killing many thousands of Palestinians. Including supporters of Dahlan, Salam Fayyad's third way, Fatah, Mustafa Barghouti and Marwan Barghouti. Hamas has also wrecked the Gazan economy with their blended shariah socialism. Gaza was a successful economy in the 1980s, 1990s until the 2nd intifada starting in late 2000. I am not blaming Uzair for this. But it is abominable for the world to support Hamas versus the far more positive and constructive Dahlan, Salam Fayyad's third way, Fatah, Mustafa Barghouti and Marwan Barghouti. Hamas is illegitimate and should surrender Gaza to the PA and Palestinian National Security Forces (NSF.) Paving the way to free and fair elections for all Palestinians. I hope Jasmine El-Gamal comes out in favor of this.
