It’s so weird! I was very very scared before using tretinoin and watching videos like this one constantly. When I finally started using it I was extremely careful, using lots of sunscreen, moisturizer, sandwich method and only applying it twice a week. But honest, nothing happened. No purge, no flaking, if there hadn’t been that tiny bit of redness, I would have believed I had gotten the wrong cream :D So I became more daring, testing the limits step by step and still no real side effects. Now I’m using it every night, no moisturizer before, on almost wet skin, and even under my eyes… I guess tretinoin works for everyone so so differently, but it was definitely best to try it out very slowly at first and THEN go up!
Yes! I totally agree! Tretinoin has crazy scary internet reputation 🤣 I was so scared too. But people are so different, so it’s better if the surprise in the good way after being careful, then accidentally burn their skin 😌
I love that you documented your journey! Your skin looks so beautiful! I am nearing the end of month 3 in my Tretinoin journey and it has truly saved my skin! I'm taking .05% and now I'm doing every other night. At first my skin reacted like crazy and I had a lot of dry skin and flaking but it's getting used to it now and my skin has cleared up soo much! I'm so glad that I discovered this. Good luck with the rest of your skin journey!
Same with PCOS 😢 I never had any problems with acne when I was a teenager. When I turned 20 years old My acne got worse and I suffered with it for many years now. We have a lot of Tretinoin products in the Philippines you can buy over the counter Pharmacy. But I discovered how to properly use tretinoin when I came back here in Perth Australia and it's hard to buy it without prescription 😓 By the way you look like a model 🤗
Hi Irina, I’m 42 yo male, started Tret 6 weeks ago daily. Started with 0.05%, I used quite a lot and suffered horribly. My skin was flaking, red and painful. Lucky for me it all went away after 4 weeks. On the fifth week, I decided to increase to 0.1%, I think I was done with retinization and boy I was so wrong. It happened all again, everywhere was feeling and it was painful. My skin looked like old man’s. One week later, I got used to 0.1% and now I’m using 0.1% daily. I could literally see my skin got plumper. It’s amazing
I love applying a thin layer of Vaseline when i don't leave the house. Also, a thick layer of Vaseline after i apply my tretinoin. And use a pretty thick oily sunscreen too just to avoid that horrible tight feeling. Idk if you were using Vaseline, but to me, it's a must.
My dermatologist suggested one application a week at maximum with .025%. I am an experienced retinoid user and I will be following her instructions carefully. You must have skin of steel I'm in awe
I'm 32 years old, I started to use Tretinoin for a month 😢 crying everytime I'm looking my face in the mirror, it's so horrible😔 i hope I'll also get a skin without acne. 🙏
FYI, there's a gel version of betarretin. You could try it out and see if your skin adapts better to it. The cream version has mineral oil, so it could be clogging your pores.
l went to my dematologist last week he gave me tretinoin cream for my acne scar so l dont know what tretinoin exactly does my skin so l came here. thank u so much your video is very helpful❤❤❤
All I can say is I believe having bad acne when I was young has kept me looking twenty years younger than I now am at 51. I have not one wrinkle. I believe it's due to the oil production and also staying out of the sun. I now use Tretenoin and K beauty products and amino acids and have the best skin of my life.
@@irinareinaMy skin is unbelievable, never better. I had suborn texture, light acne, and pigmentation around my month. Now no texture, pimples around my cycle and pigmentation is decreased more than 50%. I have oily to normal skin. Initially I used 0.025 cream which showed slow effect and switched to 0.05 gel which accelerated the effect amazingly. All I want is clear skin and I think I would never stop using tretinoin. :)
Technically, no!! But when I started using it, I began applying SPF every day and avoided spending time in the sun, so my face has no tan anymore and looks lighter.
