Ok, the mountain lion one freaked me out, not seeing it first, but then at 10:20 slowly seeing it fuzzy then clearer as it closes by the man. That genuinely made me shiver.
its kinda like a black bear you size up to it and act somewhat aggressively, but you never...EVER turn your back on it. that kicks it's instinctual prey drive in. but if you notice at the end when he sized up to the lion and moved towards it, it almost kinda jumped back, it doesn't want any part of you if you;'re too much trouble. chuck rocks at it, grab a weapon like a huge branch. Just never run. I live near-ish to that guy in utah who was stalked for like a mile by one that kept charging him, that's why he walked backwards slowly the entire time. It's also why a lot of us are armed when we go out on a hike cause hell no lol
@@ExarchGaming Yeah, if I was hiking in an area where mountain lions live I would keep stones in my pockets and keep a thick branch as a walking stick, lol
She was still cute. 😊❤ I’m too much a kitty lover. I’d probably end up getting slashed by one because I’m an idiot that can’t be mean to an animal especially a kitteh. lol
“Cold case goes unsolved for 30 years” but also “we can’t accept these extremely suspicious clothes for testing unless we can link them to a crime we already know about.” 🤦♀️
Translation: "we are respecting someone's right to privacy". I'm not someone who likes the police, but this is the right call and it's one instance of the police actually respecting someone's rights. If they don't know that a crime has occurred they can't just do a DNA test without violating someone's right to not be subjected to unnecessary search and seizure. The lack of critical thought in this world is concerning.
I'm surprised that the guy hiking didn't know basic mountain lion etiquette. That's like Hiking 101. One major thing was that he saw it before it attacked. If it wanted to attack him, he never would have spotted it. And the moose? Every moose I've ever encountered has been a bundle of rage just waiting to explode. (I grew up in Alaska, moose were EVERYWHERE).
The guy with the mountain lion almost did everything you shouldn't do with a mountain lion. I understand the adrenaline rush you get when you realize you're being stalked, I was stalked by a mountain lion once when I was doing camping like deep woods, but you need to shut all of the alarm bells that start ringing in your head because shit will go south FAST otherwise. Stay your ground, make a lot of noise and make yourself bigger not pull out your phone, turn your back and run and calmly talk.
So true. A man came upon a mountain lion while mountain biking right outside Boulder. He picked up his bike above his head and shook it, roared and hollered and thankfully it decided not to attack. A family who visited RMNP, however, went on a hike at dusk and allowed their 11-year-old to walk ahead of them out of sight. He was sadly killed. There are signs up at all the trailheads warning that lions, black bears and venomous snakes like in the woods. I saw idiots actually chase a moose in Grand Teton trying to get a picture of it. Didn't stick around to find out the outcome of that!
A week ago, I encountered a mountain lion while hiking in Agua Tibia, Southern California. The lion was stalking me from the bushes, and I tried to scare it off by shouting and making noise. It growled at me and started coming closer. All the while, I was trying to stay calm and walk backwards while keeping my eyes on the lion. I never thought to take a video like that guy; I was too concerned about not becoming cat food! By the way, I’m not used to encountering animals like this, the most dangerous animal you might come across in Europe is a wild boar.
@@Holland4evahh Yes I know, I’ve encountered bears, wolves and lynxes but they are usually afraid of humans.Usually they attack pets or livestock or at least that’s what they do in the Balkans idk about Western Europe.
Just to clarify, the cougar is a young adult - essentially still a cub, but old enough not to be dependent on the mom anymore. It wasn't trying to kill but rather very curious as it's likely never seen a human before. Had it been an adult, more experienced cougar, this could have been much more dangerous. Always make yourself bigger, be scary, and/ or throw rocks
looks to me like it was sizing him up, wondering if he was viable prey or not. guess in the end it decided he was either too big or too aware of its presence or both.
Best narration ever. Every channel that I had watched is like an AI narration but these videos are perfect thanks to your voice over. Hope you make more of these. Looking forward to see it more. btw first one
@@Edge51 more than likely him or mr nightmare got their voices cloned. him and mr nightmare sound similar but aren’t the same person, they are real people too.
it was a fake weapon, so they were probably pranking people or hoping to mug somebody. they're incredibly lucky they didn't get shot or beat up by people willing to call their bluff.
Dude, it's fake, wtf would be filming, and then all of a sudden, they encounter ppl like that. Then they stay and film them? I'm pretty sure ppl woulda left lol. Tbh they were probably in on it. C'mon, bro, more than half the videos online are fake
@@washburn11000there is an actual facebook post and article on daily mail just a simple google search to see jf its real or not and it is real chilling scares really only posts real videos
@@washburn11000 Did you watch the video, with sound on? He literally said it wasn't staged, the news was involved from other incidents, the weapons were fake, and the suspects came forward and spoke to police. Stop being stupid and saying dumb shit that has already clearly been explained otherwise.
12:20 I'd say it wasn't that because the Mountain lion felt threatened it didn't attack, it's opposite, it felt so unthreatened by the Hiker, it felt comfortable enough to stalk him.
Predation attempts are all about prey being less trouble than they're worth. If a predator thinks that a prey animal is dangerous enough to hurt them, even if it ultimately dies, it will usually abandon the hunt. That seems to be what happened here.
it's about as good an example of what not to do with a mountain lion as there gets. if you're going to go in the wilderness, learn about the wildlife you may run into before you go - especially if you're bringing children. they're much more likely to be stalked than adults.
0:28 Discount The Strangers or Hush. (And thank you, CS, I know I've seen the thumbnail of this image used before, but I think this is the first time that I'm seeing the actual footage). 1:17 As soon as they asked, "Where's the other one?" I immediately feared something bad going down. Thank goodness those guys made out of there okay.
That first one is pretty scary for me. I am an Aucklander myself and I like to take the train every once in a while. On my route I always pass that station seen in the video. It always seemed pretty off to me because even at the height of rush hour, it would be almost completely empty and silent. It's actually pretty surreal to me knowing that any one those days I could have glanced to my left and seen those two staring at me. New Zealand has a lot of gangs and some of them can get aggressive. I am just happy they stopped at creeping people out
I don’t go into the woods without being strapped or at the very least carrying bear spray. Ever. NEVER turn your back on a mountain lion or black bear! My goodness! Walk backwards with your arms up and out while speaking firmly and loudly to GO away. If you have a bike pick it up holding it sideways in front of you. If that fails, I hope you brought a defensive weapon.
Mountain Lions are no joke. I saw a video once where a grown Grizzly backed off against a Mountain Lion. They seemingly don't look so big, but they're very strong and quick.
Any experienced vet tech will tell you they'll take an aggressive dog over an aggressive cat any day - and I'm talking our standard domestic kitties. Mountain lions basically have chimp strength except with claws, fangs, and super speed
Most people that plan to self exit in the Aokigahara venture off the designated path, which is not recommended if you're just visiting, as it's dangerous and you can easily get lost.
I still don't understand why people venture into the sea of trees after learning about it's history. like, what are they hoping to find? not dead bodies? a clear example was set by logan paul on why you shouldn't enter A FREAKING SUICIDE FOREST. like you know what is in there, let these people's bodies rest man.
Could be cause they don't actually fully believe it maybe and not everyone has seen them Logan Paul crap my friends have no idea who they are apart from the boxing taunts
Because it’s a nature park with lots of hiking trails. I’ve been there. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Lots of school trips are taken there as well. It’s at the base of Mt Fuji and it’s mostly just Westerners latching onto the suicide thing and seeking out the place for that reason. It’s disrespectful AF, but incredibly typical ghoulish tourist behavior.
As a Canadian who visits red deer quite a lot I highly advise you stay very far away from fully grown moose, their intentions are to stay away from you but if you get to close they most likely will feel threatened
I really hate it when people call other people stupid for things like this. When you're scared like that, you don't think as well. I wouldn't run like that, but I certainly don't blame him especially if he didn't know how to handle the situation. Plus, it's clear he realized his mistake because he stopped shortly after. It wasn't really "running" and jogging a few steps.
Fuck the gun, if I see two scary people standing there masked, and then they separate - I’m RUNNING. This is some white people, scary movie, run to the danger, type nonsense
it is a pathetic student film ,ti is obvious that the two "strange persons" are students too, and everything is so boldly fake and ridiculous, not the sharpest tools in the box.
I'm sorry, the cops can't test bloody, tattered clothes found laid out in the woods unless they already linked them to a crime? Dude, what?? How are they supposed to figure out what happened without investigating their only lead?
I LOVE your videos man! I like how you go straight into the video and then ALWAYS deliver with interesting and disturbing content. Your upload schedule is slow, but I get it, no point of mass-producing garbage either. it's a relic whenever I get a notification so PLEASE continue! ❤❤❤
The way my mind immediately clocked in to the Sea of Trees as soon as Chilling Scares mentioned Mount Fuji. 💀 5:32 Speaking of the media, I'm surprised he didn't mention the two horror movies (that I could think of) made about the Sea of Trees (Grave Halloween and The Forest).
The mountain lion one would absolutely make me shit myself. My eyes widened so much when I finally saw its silhouette in the grass. Crazy how it blends so well.
This channel is definitely one of my favourites. Right down to business, not overly dramatic, and stays respectful and true to the story and the people in it.
Moose are no joke. To put it this way, the moose is one of only a handful of animals that Survivorman, Les Stroud, has shown fear about running into when out in the wild (along with Jaguars, Tigers, Cape Buffalo, Wasps/African Honeybees, and Polar Bears).
The statement that moose aren't typically aggressive is completely incorrect. Bull moose are pure testosterone, and extremely territorial. They kill more people in Alaska than grizzlies.
That mountain lion was younger too so that may have had some influence on why it didn't attack. Brave of him to say that he wasn't afraid because I'll tell you that cat would have known I was afraid. Thing with animals, especially wild ones, they can sense your fear and they will take advantage of it because they have to in the wild....survival of the fittest.
"Survival of the fittest" also means not taking unnecessary risks. There's a reason why the vast majority of predators are ambushers. They aren't interested in actually fighting anything (since almost any form of injury in the wild is basically a death sentence), they just want clean easy kills. Predators don't just walk around picking fights with everything they see unless they are starving and desperate. If that Cougar was even remotely interested in killing him then it wouldn't have made itself seen until the moment it lunged at him. It's more likely that it was being territorial. Perhaps it had cubs nearby.
6:47 for me it looks like that some one might have not been nice to that moose before and that`s why it is aggressive to the guy that climbed the tree or it might be that month where male looking for mate and they also then can be extra on edge , and climbing a tree is correct to do with moose, but he could try to talk to it calmly :)
Been watching for a few months now, and just really have to say that I appreciate this channel. It's nice having one of these creepy story channels that isn't plagued by AI voices or obviously fake stories, this channel has legitimate voice-over and the stories on pretty much every video I've watched seemed 99.9 % genuine all the time unlike other channels of this nature. The fact that it's all real, voice over and stories, puts this channel leagues ahead of other similar ones.
Screaming would probably provoke the lion, I don’t know for sure but it seems to make sense. Or the lion would just ignore the screams and continue moving towards him.
@@LiverpoolGOAT3281 nah they want nothing to do with you if you're sizing it up. they're ambush predators, not brawlers like a bear. If you rush at it or make loud noises, just never EVER turn your back on it, you're dead then. as soon as it sinks it's teeth in to the back of your neck and ends you by crushing your vertabrae. But give it more trouble than you're worth and it will high-tail it out of there. I live in prime mountain lion territory, same area as that other mountian lion video where the hiker got stalked for a mile or so by a mountian lion, its also why a lot of us are armed in Utah when we go out in the wilderness.
@@LiverpoolGOAT3281 from what i've heard, screaming makes you look threatening to these animals you're supposed to do the same with black bears scream and make yourself look big but now don't start shouting like a metal band member or something just increase your voice
finally a new post🤗🤗🤗..... i had been literally watching his old posts before this... loved you and your videos chilling scares💕for me you are the best storytelling person on youtube i have ever found and one of the best video creator on RU-vid...... i literally love watching your older videos too🤗🤗🤗...
are there not possible chances that the mountain lion would have felt threatened and attacked instead? i heard someone else say here that ducking to lift the rock would've given the chance for the mountain lion to attack.
