If any Woman is traveling around and camping by herself in America, she really, really needs a few things; a good sized dog that isn't afraid to defend you, and MOST definitely a firearm (thankfully in America we have the 2nd amendment, And theres 27 states that all have what is called "Constitutional Carry" meaning that you can legally care a firearm without any kind of permit, registration, or "permission" of any sort. Absolutely no restrictions (unless your a felon) Traveling alone is dangerous, especially if you are a woman, so if your doing this protection is an absolute must.

That motion of the cougar is also typical of cheetahs when they are angry. As for having a dog, it would have to be a pretty large dog; & a bark won't necessarily scare a cat away -- depends on the circumstance. Cats can be pretty fierce & do major damage. These animals are much bigger than we think, until you get close up & really see their size. I was amazed at the size of a hyena i saw very close up -- way bigger than in photos or video. That last one sounded more like faulty electrical equipment, or a speaker going bad. Thx.

I live in the province that contains the polar bear capital of the world, Churchill, Manitoba. There is no fooling around with a polar bear….you will die!. People have occasionally escaped a grizzled by playing dead and covering their head. Myself I wouldn’t want to test that theory. But don’t underestimate black bears they can and have killed humans. You never ever play dead with a black bear as they are just as likely to eat you dead as alive. They have no problem eating carrion. My Dad used torun into them once or twice every summer at the cottage.
