However he took stupid risks for no reason really. He could of promoted conservation but still remain safe. Respect nature. I still remember him dangling his son as a baby in front of a crocodile. Stupid.

@suehoult9062 Well he's dead. I hope you are happy and can cease with the constant attacks on his character calling him stupid. You seem to have little knowledge of what he HAS contributed to wildlife conservation. I suggest you look it up instead of calling him stupid in many posts you've made!

‘Taking risks’ was his way of showing how animals are not the psychos many believe them to be. He accepted the risks, spoke about them, taught people who don’t know about animals, to see them from a distance. The rays had never been known to attack humans. So he was taking a look, not a risk. That’s called curiosity, and knowing about human attacks never being recorded, he did it with the knowledge he had. He was far from stupid, just that day, he was horribly close to unlucky. Steve Irwin and his family have always fought to bring animal welfare to the front. If we look after our little bits of the planet, it all thrives. Clean water for fish means clean water for everyone, but that’s all common sense. He took calculated risks. We could argue that anyone on this list was ‘stupid’. Walker was in a speeding car with bald tyres…. We don’t know the whole minutiae of what happened before these poor people took their risks, but calling them names isn’t necessary. Really, it’s not. We’ve all done things we were lucky to get away with! I climbed The Giants (what we feral kids called a copse of uncontrolled Leylandii trees) to see a squirrel nest! I nearly went splat, another kid in the group fell out of a different tree and broke his arm. His mum was livid with us and he was told to keep away. I mean, knowing now that wet trees and gusty winds, equals a big, slippery, frond covered branch to keep hold of, I’d call myself stupid and not do it! As a kid, the information I had was, if the boys can do it, so can I! More one off risks have been taken in my adult years, but I’m claiming the fifth on those! 😊 Anyways, I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend when we get to it, stay safe, have fun, be a little stupid and tell those who matter, that you love them. Life is too short, no one is immune to death. Bright blessings to all who read this! 🫶

@@suehoult9062 "However he took stupid risks for no reason really." That, right there, goes to show how little you know about Steve. Yes, that incident with his own kid above a crocodile was a bit much but barring that he always knew what he was doing, how to handle and treat the animals in his care or out in the wild, knew the risks but always made sure not to intentionally cause undue stress or harm to wildlife he dealt with. Which is more than what PETA do...So saying that he "took stupid risks for no reason" just shows how little _YOU_ actually know. I wonder...what have _YOU_ done to contribute to wildlife or learning? Steve did a lot for animals but also did much in educating other people as well.

@mariaflies That is so sad. 😪 We had a planned visit to Australia Zoo on our holiday travelling down the coast. To our shock and horror we watched on the news in our hotel, Steve was dead. We had our children and my hubby's parents visiting from Belgium. When we arrived 4 days later, the flowers and the notes of love seemed to go forever. None of the staff spoke much, they were still in shock. It was so sad. One day, I intend to return. It's such a wonderful zoo.

It makes me sick and ticked off that Paul Walkers daughter filed a lawsuit claiming that Porsche lacked “safety features resulting in her dad’s death”. Apparently they settled for an undisclosed sum even though he and the driver were driving over 100mph which was at least double the speed limit and she doesn’t understand why her father died in the crash??? I’m sorry but that’s wanting free money when it’s not the car manufacturers fault. Why can’t people take responsibility for their own actions. My dad died in 2021 from a very aggressive leukemia possibly from either contaminated water at Camp Lejeune when he was in the Marine Corp or possibly from Agent Orange during Vietnam and I didn’t file a lawsuit but maybe I should since everyone thinks that when someone passes away and it’s from an accident from their own doing they are owed money. I’m just in disbelief they settled when they chose to speed. So when someone dies from driving over 100mph and double the speed limit the families can blame the car manufacturer for not enough safety features. WTH???

You are very incorrect on what happened to Steve Irwin. The barb of the stingray went into his chest and broke off (it didn’t stab him hundreds of times 🙄). Steve pulled the barb out (which did more damage coming out than going in) and he bled out. Had he left the barb in, it may have had a different outcome, but we will never know.
@workouts_2024
@workouts_2024 Месяц назад
When I did first aid training (the instructor was an ex Wetpac Rescue Helicopter paramedic) I learned the maxim "If it's in, leave it in, if its out, leave it out" Also our 3 goals are (1) Keep them breathing, (2) Stop the bleeding, (3) Don't let them get any worse. As a first aider, you are not a doctor. You must NOT pull out ANYTHING imbedded into someone's body. Leave that headache to the ER doctor, who is trained in what to do. You are not. Also, if someone's guts have come out of their torso, do NOT attempt to push them back in. Just pad up the area, stop the bleeding, put the person in the appropriate recovery position and just monitor their vitals (breathing rate, heartbeat, skin colour, body temperature, level of consciousness etc) until paramedics arrive.

What can happen with an individual who consistently puts themselves in danger, is that one day, nature will fight back I enjoyed watching Steve Irwin but felt that he got over-confident and when he jumped on the back of the manta ray, like any wild animal, it reacted defensively, using its barb to attack any creature on its back and it happened to be Steve, being reckless in one of his antics with wild animals, and sadly, he paid for that bravado with his life, this time. Wild reptiles like crocodiles DO NOT MAKE FRIENDS with humans, but Steve treated them like pets, got reckless at times and had some close calls. Sad to lose him because his idealism to preserve wildlife was spot on and admirable. But he became complacent and made a mistake and paid for that with his life. Very sad; he was such a nice guy and we loved him! I enjoyed watching another man who worked wrangling crocodiles, in N. Australia, to relocate them when they were becoming a nuisance, and he did NOT take chances with the reptile nor did he allow any of his team to be careless; crocs can strike out in a nanosecond, and with all those teeth and a strong bite. they clamp onto their victims and drag them to deep water to drown them -- that's their M.O. for dealing with prey. People who take dangerous chances, rarely live a full lifespan, whether it is in sports, being and handling wildlife, or speeding on the freeway, they are SURE nothing will happen to them, because it hasn't YET, but they are rarely "luck out" forever, sadly, fate catches up with them.

*Crikey! Steve was stabbed over 100 times by that stingray? I wouldn't have thought that was even possible! Are you sure? I was always afraid something would get him because IMO, he was always pushing the limits to the point of recklessness at times, but as a former SCUBA diver, a stingray wouldn't even make my list of suspects. I figured it would be a snake. I once saw him squeeze his way into a very tight crevice and put his face directly in front of an eastern diamondback, where he couldn't have possibly dodged a strike. Maybe it was too cold and Steve knew the snake would be sluggish, but that kind of overconfidence can get you killed. I feel so sorry for his wife and daughter. Their marriage seemed like it came straight out of heaven.*

That was just a rumor at the time. Most stingrays can't stab more than twice if my research is anything to go by. 100 times sounded way to far fetched for me so I had to do a google search. I’ve seen people die and severely injured because of speeding, driving drunk, texting, and so on. They chose to drive over 100mph on a regular road which the speed limits are nowhere near 100mph

Steve Irwin's death was so tragic! Heck, they all were, but his especially hit hard. The sting ray was so scared, that it did what nature engineered it to do and we lost a great man from it, yet I guarantee you he turned over in his grave after people went out and killed a bunch of them after his death. That's not what he stood for at all and people made excuses for the senseless killings by saying it was for Steve, which of course was BS! Steve loved animals and wouldn't have wanted any of those sting rays killed for doing what nature intended for them to do. This made Steve's death even sadder.

I grew up skiing in Colorado (and live there now). I couldn't even estimate how many falls I've taken. It's strange, but even though I know tragedies like Natasha Richardson's are real, it is still hard for me to imagine. I mean, every skier has fallen more times than they can count. Usually it's no big deal, and when it is it's an arm or leg. Obviously there are ways of falling 'just wrong' which, though rare, can cause head injuries that serious. Scary.

@grahamgreene779
@grahamgreene779 15 дней назад
@@ladysarafireheart5400 looked up the photo and I'm pretty sure it's misidentified, which can happen. If you look up pictures of Robert Fox he is anything but a dead ringer for Paul Schrader, who is indeed in that picture with Natasha Richardson. Schrader directed Natasha in the 1988 film "Patty Hearst," in which she starred as the titular Patty. Again, not sure why that photo seems to misidentify him, it does say something about "people who dated Natasha" etc. and Directors and their leading ladies have been known to . . . relate well. Or it could just be them at a screening, who knows.

Life is short. Death is sure. Make sure you are right with God who loved us and gave his Son to die for our sins. Turn from your sins, invite Jesus into your heart, your life, into you so that you can be cleansed from sin and be made RIGHT with God. Ecclesiastes 9:12 For man also knows not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly upon them.

🇵🇭 Liam's words to Natasha made me cry. Just shows how much love Liam has for her. My ex wife is a demon. She hates it when told that I'm in the hospital and has to be fetched. She hates it when she's disturbed while showing off my car & sound system to people. Later on, she left us. Told me that her new man is Rich with a brand New Honda, a condo and could take her to Disney. Well, I hope she's in a better place now above or below ground +. Steve Urwin caused his own death. He constantly pushed the boundaries foolishly, getting up to close to every type of dangerous animals and snakes, crocodiles, and in the ocean the stingray that killed him. All because he got too close. Rays have a poisen barb in their tail, and if they feel threatened, they will release it. Steve was floating above it, and Ray let its barb go, and it pierced his heart. He died seconds later. He should have had some respect for giving his subjects some space.
