I have a few personal experiences with two calvinist churches.....I experienced arrogance, pride, unloving treatment, and one really does not have calvinism in their Faith statements. But make no mistake, they are over run with the young restless and reformed.....and at the point they know you renounce all 5 points, you're shown the door indirectly. Interestingly, I can have fellowship with calvinists but they cannot with me. Calvinism is serious error and the fruit is rotten.

Imagine teaching a non believer Calvinism first and then giving them the gospel. Calvinism is a stumbling block. I go to a church that holds Calvinistic beliefs and as a new believer I believed Calvinism was “correct” but I no longer believe this. Why? Because the gospel is simple enough for a 4 year old to understand. Calvinism is trying to make something simple complicated.
@RenardGarzaro
@RenardGarzaro 2 месяца назад
How can it be that simple when it is hidden from the wise and the prudent? If the faith you provide comes from man's intuition, his ability to learn, understand and make good decisions, it is works as described in Ephesians 2:8-9 - you can boast, meaning you are not saved by grace. The sentence starts with being saved by Grace and Grace is an unmerited favor meaning you do nothing to obtain the salvation. The sentence goes on to say through faith and we know you have to have faith in Jesus, the issue is how do we come about having the faith. If we are graced the faith by God opening our eyes and ears and conditioning our hearts to the Gospel then we are saved by Grace as opposed to being smart enough to make a great decision. People who are saved by Grace know they would not shot without God, people who are not saved by grace feel as though they participated with God in the justification process, "God does some, I do some and together I am saved".

That’s a false assumption Calvinism must make or else it’s unbiblical doctrine won’t work. Grace is purchased by Jesus with His blood on the cross. It is a free gift that we did not accomplish. Anyway, we end in a church because they stayed opened and seemed rational at the time and appeared genuinely loving. Until....we started sharing that we were not keen on the preaching of Calvinism. They turned really mean and judgemental and told we didn't really know the scriptures. Just for reference, I graduated with a Bachelor's in theology and ho,d several Diplomas in pastoral counseling and my wife has a BA in sociology and Education. "people who think they elect" - I suspect you just accidentally flubbed your typing, and meant to accuse Calvinists of thinking they're "God's favorites" due to something special within them. But that's not at all what we're saying. In fact, your mistyping characterizes your view of yourselves quite well. By denying God's election and calling you, rather than others around you, you're claiming to have been the ones who have chosen God - which is the arrogant position that a Christian is someone who is smart and moral enough to choose to serve God, even as most people choose to reject Him. The doctrine of election helps us see that it's not that we are wiser than the majority who do not believe, but simply privileged beyond what we deserve. The elect of God should know we can take ZERO credit for our salvation. The Armenian interpretation leaves you wondering why you "get it" when others do not. So when a Calvinist says he is among the elect of The Lord, he's saying "I have no way of explaining it based on my own merit or wisdom or insight, but God has shown Himself to me, and because he's given faith to me, I believe and am saved!"

The word "trinity" does not appear either but the concept does so. The Father, Son & Holy Spirit are all identified clearly as almighty God proving this doctrine. Scripture clearly teaches when a person trusts in Christ as Savior: -they are "born again" (spiritually born) (John 3). Similiar to a person can not unborn physically one can not be unborn spiritually. -they are given eternal life not probationary life (saved until they mess up enough to lose it). Eternal is for ever. -they are saved by grace (unmerited favor) through faith (trust) in Jesus Christ alone. (Ephesians 2:8-9, Acts 16:30-31). -salvation is given as a gift by God (Romans 6:23). A gift is given without any other conditions included. -being saved is not of works (Romans 4:5, Titus 3:5). -salvation is not obtained by grace through faith plus works (Romans11:6). @@kennygee2715 I respectfully disagree with your statement. If you are referring to people like Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn and all the false prophets out there, that certainly is not good. But they do not represent the core values of most people who believe the gifts exist today to aid us in our walk with God. The Holy Spirit provides Godly insight (wisdom)-words that you may have seen written in the Bible and really didn’t understand, but He, the Holy Spirit, opens your heart and mind to it at just the right time just like Jesus opened the eyes of the disciples to who He was at just the right time. The Holy Spirit lights the Word of God in your mind where before your mind was darkened, like trying to read a book without light. So that is just one of the continuing gifts of the Holy Spirit. And as a charismatic I believe in gifts of tongues, a language as Paul says in Corinthians, that is un-intelligible at times. And without interpretation should be confined to yourself and God in prayer and praise, in great grief and trouble. Of tongues I can say without a doubt that in times of greatest duress and sorrow in my life, the gift of tongues has been the way I pray to God because the Spirit knows what we need and with tongues I prayed and found relief. I see the stealth invasion too. Years ago I lived in a large metro area and was seeking a Biblical church. I had a list to research. No one advertised that they were calvinist but some churches were. I started noticing the following things: 1. They would quote a lot of Calvinists in their sermons. 2. They would start to introduce calvinistic theology in their sermons. 3. They would start making references to distinguish between calvinists and non calvinists. It all begins subtle and innocent and before long it is a shunning cult. I left these places. But when I screened out the doctrinal statement of faith as I moved on I started noticing key terms in them that referred to calvinism in sneaky ways, a lot of 'sovereignty' 'grace,' 'sovereign grace,' those are dead giveaways. The terms alone would be fine but they repackage them with calvinism and these key terms are loaded with calvinism and tend to show up in those belief statements. They usually will not mention obvious things like tulip and stuff, 'predestination,' and casting people to hell just randomly for spite and 'God's glory,' but they will mention those other terms. They invade a lot of Baptist churches and other denominations that were not calvinistic. I have also seen the way calvinists behave towards non calvinists and they totally exclude you as 'other.' You mentioned key terms, did the inspired scripture say the key terms you are referring too? Just because a person believes God predestines for salvation (not everything in life) does not make it Calvinism, Calvinistic or stealth Calving, it means that is what the scripture says. Reason #7. The Calvinists have their extrabiblical authoritative documents: Creeds and confessions like the Westminster Confession of Faith. While giving lip service to an abstract notion of "sola scriptura," they regard the confessions as authoritative as the Latter Day Saints affirm the book of Mormon. Consider the ordination vows (there are apparently eight but I cite the first two) involved in ordination in Presbyterian Church in America: 1. Do you believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, as originally given, to be the inerrant Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice? 2. Do you sincerely receive and adopt the CONFESSION of Faith and the Catechisms of this Church, as CONTAINING THE SYSTEM OF DOCTRINE TAUGHT IN THE HOLY SCRIPTURES... It has already been established, in their mind, that the confessions conform to the Scriptures, thus they are equated (whether the PCA ideologue admits it or not.) A (very Calvinistic) PCA minister on Twitter/X recently explained to me: "The creeds and confessions affirm what Scripture teaches and what the church has historically agreed upon as the correct interpretation of scripture." Note the absolute lack of exhortation to study the Scriptures and think for oneself to be a good Berean. An example of how much weight is conferred to the confessions is their use of the word, "decree." Decree is a Bible word: a word search reveals 49 uses in the KJV. Rarely, as in Psalm 2:7 or 148:6, is the Lord the one who issues a decree. Yet one cannot help but notice a James White discourse that does not refer to "God's eternal decree" (again WCF ch 3) in at least every other statement. Again, the WCF is an authoritative document to the Calvinist - not something that needs to be evaluated in these present times against Scripture, but an authoritative document that has been examined against Scriptures and has been *decreed* to match!

No, we do not hold up the confessions equal to scriptures any more than you believe what your pastor teaches what the word of God means or a book you chose to read from a "Christian". That is why there are many confessions that different Calvinists adhere to. I love all of the confessions even though I disagree about different points of each one. Every Calvinist I know says to search the scriptures to see of what we are saying is correct. If they do not say that openly and forcefully they are not Calvinists. To prove my point name one Calvinist that does not exhort to be a Berean. One of the biggest disagreements among Calvinists is Pedobaptism. I, for one, do not believe it is biblical. Sproul and MacArthur debated it and Sproul admitted it is not in scripture in that debate, but he still believes it is biblical akin to circumcision. So, if we believe that the confessions are equivalent to scripture, why are there different confessions? Also, all English Bibles, until the modern era, were translated by Calvinists. The newer versions were translated with Calvinists. So my question to you is; why are you using a cult Bible?

Okay, and Paul says all this was “ in accordance the scriptures” so what does that mean well it means according to the Old Testament prophecy. Ie. Isaiah 53. It was prophesied thousands of year ago that the Messiah would come at an appointed time die be buried and raised for the sin of Gods people. So Paul is saying these 3 things death, burial, and resurrection are elements of the gospel they are not the gospel. Just believing facts won’t save you. The Apostle James said “even the demons believe “. Salvation is being changed by the Holy Spirit. It is dying to self and living to Jesus. You wanna know if you saved well it’s not because you believe some facts about who Jesus was or what Jesus did. It’s because you have been changed by the power of God forever. IF we abide in Him and endure until the end THEN we will be saved in the end. It's a life long 'choice' to abide, free will can also choose to walk away...which is why Jesus warned the churches. Sometimes when we leave a teaching fragments of wrong teachings stick with us until God's Word washes it all clean and we are left with His Truth alone. That's why we should never read commentaries, only search the Bible for words and phrases to understand all teachings on a subject. Men are flawed, that includes each of us. The guy answers (if he is smart and saved), "Ah, no. I just got saved. I believed what I needed to in order to be saved, as the Bible said. I don't need to add anything to it." In my experience, it is quite the opposite. The reason Calvinism is increasing is because they are very clear on where they stand and where in scripture they see their position. There are multiple confessions and catechisms that lay out their affirmations and denials in great detail, not to mention multiple books and other resources one can read. And they deal head on with the difficult verses that people find repulsive at first. What I don't see on the part of most non-Calvinists these days is a lack of clarity about what exactly they positively believe scripture is teaching. They frame their position in the negative, how they are not Calvinists or disagree with this or that point of Calvinism. But that just keeps pointing people back to Calvinism. Instead, they should make a positive case about what scripture does say, especially the tricky verses people don't like, without needing to call out Calvinism. When set side by side, the stronger more scriptural case will win.

God chooses who He wants to save for it’s His creation so He has all sovereignty to choose what He wants. I’ll pray for you to see the truth. But all those who disagree, at least 99% of them, suddenly get ugly, their heads start to spin, they resort to name calling, false attacks and accusations, their heads explode, and the arrogance seeps out like sulphur from the pit of hell. The venom bites begin...

Having written the comment that Brian spoke about, I can say FIRSTHAND that many Calvinist churches fly under the radar. I am slightly embarrassed to say that I was duped and "stealthy deceived" for 3 years unknowingly attending a stealth Calvinist church where they intentionally kept their head scratching 5-point tulip under wraps. Once I was enlightened by someone on what they ACTUALLY believed, I completely felt like the emperor with no clothes on. I got out of there as fast as a rabbit being chased by a dog. I've been born again for 38 years, love the Word of God, and have had a BIG passion all these years in the area of studying cults in order to defend the truth. I admit that I was completely blindsided (and again embarrassed) that I ended up in a church that was never upfront on their beliefs that Jesus does not love everyone, did not die for everyone, and does not want everyone to be saved. And the craziest doctrine of all? That God has given man the choice to choose ANYTHING in his life (like picking a dog or a cat as a pet or choosing peppermint or chocolate marshmallow ice cream to enjoy... I would choose peppermint), but the only choice man cannot have is being able to choose where he will spend eternity. How anyone can fall for this is beyond me (I can hear a Calvinist saying right now "he doesn't understand Calvinism"). So let me get this straight... What a truthful full-fledged card-carrying Calvinist believes is that the vast majority of people on earth (those wide road folks) who are breathing at this very moment were born to live on this earth, and then die only to be sent to hell for all eternity (to glorify God of course), with ABSOLUTELY ZERO CHOICE in their life to repent and turn to Christ for eternal life? How any person can swallow this is about as confusing as attempting to tackle a Rubics cube. Again, I truly love Calvinist people but can never drink their Kool-Aid. It simply is an entirely different gospel that does not bring "good news that will cause great joy for ALL THE PEOPLE." Like Jesus who loved the Pharisees but warned against their doctrines, we are to love Calvinists but condemn their theology and twisted view that God does not love all or desire all to come to salvation.

@@Jesusisking235 A consistent reading of Romans 9 answers your question that, yes, there are many that God has predestined for destruction as part of His glory. Verses 19-21 treat this as a given: "You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?” 20 But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?” 21 Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use?" Your trouble with this fact is between you and scripture, not with Calvinist boogeymen. God's love is no less for the truth that He has lavished it on His chosen people. Neither is a man less loving generally because he loves his wife exclusively from all other women. You are loved by God because He first loved you, NOT because you just happened to be one of the random passersby who signed up at God's salvation booth. God, through His Holy Spirit draws His particular people; He isn't a beggar in the street hoping that maybe someone will respond. Breaking through our Western cultural mindset of free will is a hard task, but patient consideration of Scripture must needs do so. It is the part of a friend to correct his error. This objection is erroneous and I encourage you to dig into why. I'm not saying this because I think I'm at all smarter or better than you, but because I wish you to be able to come to delight in the truth of this Scripture as I have. The trek from misunderstanding to understanding takes time for everyone. I would have you a fellow pilgrim on that road.

I attended a Baptist Church for 10 years and neverever heard Calvinism taught from the pulpit. The last day before the lead pastor left, he preached this word for word sermon and not one eyebrow went up! As for me I felt like a harpoon went through my heart!!! Sermon Quote: God has chosen before the Creation of the World to save a number of specific individuals from sin and judgement and give them eternal life, and if you are a Christian today you know that you are one of those individuals! And the rest of humankind who don’t experience this will be judged. Well the reality is that none of us deserve that chance anyway God should really annihilate us as sinners. I never returned (it has been 5 years now) Interesting is that I was active in that church yet no one ever contacted me to see if there was a problem. I did contact the church and said that I would like my families name taken off of the membership list, because I considered the words of that sermon to be heresy! So guess what their response was? answer: We are sorry you feel that way, but we never hide that election as stated in that sermon was what we believe! I agree with you, that if one day he were to come out of the closet and preach Calvinism I would not only be shocked but feel betrayed and duped by a stealth deceiver, and I would not return. God never uses deception to lead people to the truth. The fact that some pastors are deceptive about what they truly believe and withhold that for so long only to later come out of the closet only proves they are not of God, but of Satan. 2 Corinthians 11 says, " 13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light."

Sadly, the emphasis is always on some presupposition in the doctrine that end up lacking the love of God. Actually, you are referring to a common Calvinistic misinterpretation of Romans 3 in which all people are broad brushed with this passage but the teachers of this false view choose to not reference Psalms 14 and 53 written by David that Paul was quoting from in Romans 3. Why? Because it destroys their false theology. Context kills Calvinism. David was applying that statement that no one seeks God, none is righteous, etc. to the groups of people who did not believe in God and persecutes the people who do. David did consider the people of God to be those who seek after God and can obtain righteousness through faith, a principal established by God with Abraham in Genesis 15. Furthermore, to say we cannot seek God is to call God a liar and not believe Scripture. Do a study on that! Do a word search! God says, seek Me, seek righteousness! God says if you seek Him you will find Him. Here is just 3 examples but there are so many more Bible verses than just this that indicate people are seeking God. Jeremiah 29: 13, "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." Isaiah 55: 6, "Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near" Matthew 6: 33, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Your depiction of a clearing out a hospital is not seen in Scripture. Even Jesus went to the Pool of Bethesda full of sick people wanting to be healed and Jesus healed one man, that is it. But let's apply your misunderstanding and crazy idea of how the Spiritual gifts should work to a gift of the Holy Spirit that Cessationists believe is still for today. Evangelism is a gift of the Holy Spirit. Send your favorite evangelist into any gay bar full of somdomites and tell them you expect them to preach and save every single person in there without fail or you just won't believe Jesus is saving anyone anymore.

Yes it is a Cult, with a capital C! I started going to a youth group with my boys, all seemed good at first. Basic messages for the kids. But one day in the message was about how you live, the guy even said repent of your sins, I looked over to the head pastor and he was nodding his head in approval. I tested him later and said isn’t it amazingly that we are saved by grace, it’s a free gift and how we live has nothing to do with our salvation. He put his head down and did not acknowledge the question. Then I started sharing Ralph Yankee Arnold videos with a few of the other members and one left (started his own church at home, but teach dispensationalism, as in Ruckman, Kim, Breaker style of faith and works in OT and TRIB, different story there, I mentioned to him that is heresy, no one can boast, he shunned me too). But anyway I spoke to a guy who was traveling through town and I mentioned the gospel and said he spoke to the head pastor for 2 hours and isn’t this a Calvinist church. The ones that soul win, watch Ray Comfort, who I said to avoid. When they talk about someone being saved it’s always about the changed life, Then came the Shunning, went to a wedding and they all ignored me, like I wasn’t even there. The head pastor also in the past had told members not to watch anything I send them. As I was sharing your videos as well as Ralph, Jesse Martinez - Bibleline, Ono Diamanté, Tom Cucuzza, Freddie Coile, Jacksmack77 etc etc. God bless bro.

Self-denial, self-control, picking up one's cross, renewing the mind daily. ‭Galatians 5:22-25 NKJV‬ [22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [23] gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. [24] And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. [25] If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Titus 2:11-14 NKJV [11]For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, [12] teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, [13] looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, [14] who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

I certainly do believe in the Jesus of John 10 and all the Bible but Calvinists do not, and they pervert that passage on purpose because they must in order to uphold their phony doctrine of Limited Atonement. In John 10 Jesus refers to everyone as sheep, and Jesus said He lay His life down for "the sheep." That is everyone. He did not say He lay His life down for "my sheep" as He refers to believers in this passage as being "my sheep" and the unbelievers as being not "my sheep" but they are all still spoken of by Jesus as being "the sheep" in the metaphor He used.

As many Calvinists do willfully and purposefully, you conflated John 10 with Matthew 25. John 10 is written by Apostle John in which the only metaphor Jesus used for people who are alive is sheep but in Matthew 25 which is written by Matthew, he gives a totally different account of Jesus speaking about dead people in judgement, and the metaphor is goats for unbelievers and sheep for believers. Just read John 10 again and if you have any desire for truth over loyalty to reformed theology talking points, then you will realize I am right. Jesus died for the sheep which is everyone and that jives with many other Bible verses that tells us Jesus died for everyone. This is not an argument any Calvinist can win based upon Scripture so you might as well give up and realize you made you a bad choice to follow man-made theology rather than God's Word. It's not too late to switch and become a Bible believer.

You have 5 questions and I'll be a good sport and answer according to what God's Word says. 1. No, but all mankind except the mentally disabled and little children have the ability to comprehend God's Word and believe His promises by faith or choose not to believe God. That is why in 1 John 3: 23 God commands us to believe in His Son Jesus Christ, a commandment that would be totally unnecessary if God already predestined who will believe and who will not believe and they have no choice in it. 2. No, this is false universalism that Calvinism teaches about the elect, a great deception. The only ones not going to hell are those who are saved by grace through faith, having believed in the Gospel, trusting by faith in the finished redemptive work of Jesus Christ. 3. Yes, Jesus died for all and many Bible verses confirm this is true. I have a long list of them if you'd like to see them. 4. Yes, God has already extended His grace through His Son Jesus Christ to the whole world, not one person is exempted from God's grace but it is only received through faith (Eph 2: 8), and not forced upon people as Calvinism teaches. 5. No, OSAS. We do not work to earn our keep in salvation. God does not take away what He has given us, nor do we have the power to save ourselves or keep ourselves saved. We are saved by and kept saved by Jesus whom we belong to. He is the Good Shepherd and He owns us and that ownership is signified in God's Word which says we are sealed (shows ownership) by the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption (in heaven).

@@faithonfireministries I know Calvinists firmly stand on replacement theology. Jean Cauvin himself wrote that "we have a superior covenant" over the Jews. That statement came up over the question of church or religious music. Some brave people were pointing to all the examples of music in the OT which Cauvin was trying to recreate in Geneva. But Cauvin was trying to get rid of music so he plucked Jesus's words of the New Covenant to back himself up in a roundabout way. Its so amazing and despicable how Cauvin constantly cherrypicked and flipflopped around. Its no wonder his new religion is so dysfunctional. Speaking of biblical music I learned that Jewish/Israelite prophesies in the OT were not spoken but sung in the streets and by city gates. That makes Cauvin's attack on church music even more dubious than his claims of ridding "the church of popery".
