Big difference between mvno and major carrier is that major carrier forces user to buy far more service than needed along with far too high a price.

A couple of weeks ago I switched 5 lines to Mint Mobile. It was somewhat difficult to follow their web site instructions. I had to call help to overcome one problem. But after spending about 6 hours to do 5 lines...I finally got it done. Since then...no problems. I'm paying approx. $17.30 per line (including fees) per month.. Nothing cheaper.

I'm on T-Mobile's old essentials plan which is 4 "unlimited" lines for $100. While technically I'm not on an mvno, I'm curious as to where I stand with prioritization compared to not only other T-Mobile users but mvno users 🤔. I suspect I'm behind those magenta users but maybe ahead of mint users?

Thank you for the info. I’m not sure if I understood you correctly but if I switch to Mint will I lose my ability to get app notifications on my Apple Watch? I don’t have a wireless plan for my watch but I do get notifications which I appreciate.
@madesquire2796

If you don't have a wireless plan on your watch, it's likely that your phone is pushing those notifications to your watch via WiFi or Bluetooth. If you switch to Mint, it shouldn't impact those notifications.

I currently have AT&T but about to start Mint Mobile for three months. I mainly looking to switch b/c AT&T does not allow use of most phones you can't get in the US. Vivo and Iqoo phones work on Mint but not AT&T. I work from home so I am on my wifi all day so not worried about my data speeds being reduced the little time I'm out running errands. I might consider joining T-Mobile but just depends on how it goes with Mint. I am tired of most of these networks dictating what phones I can use.

So US Mobile is the MVNO that I've been using for almost 2 years. It's been excellent because I've been enjoying low prices for Verizon's super fast network. HOWEVER, this was only great in suberbia and even Jersey City. During peak hours in Midtown New York City my data signal drops out almost completely. I think when there are thousands and thousands of people in one spot, all accessiing data, it prioritizes the traffic on the non-MVNO carriers. I'm not sure if that's true? But my Verizon work phone doesn't drop out as bad. Either way this hasn't been enough for me to switch away from US Mobile (one of Mint Mobile's competitors). I wonder if anyone else has experienced something like this in areas with very high population?

I have Mint Mobile (Southern California area) service is really good and fast. I get over 250 mbps and have seen up to 480 mbps with 5G on my IPhone 13 Pro. Been a Mint customer since 2018 aka Mint Sim. Enjoy saving money :) I also had a secondary service with two Verizon MVNO’s (US Mobile and Visible) and they had really bad service in my area. Very frustrating because I would get 1 -5 mbps 98% of the time. Still, both had great customer support, but did not work for me. Staying with Mint!

I use cricket since T-Mobile mnvo are BAAAADDDD. With cricket I BARELY have a bad speed. Had it for about 5 years and still awesome and all my iPhones 12-13, paying only $125 for 5 lines is just an amazing deal. Speeds usually from 15mpbs to 70 average. But some places with 5g or 5g+ gets up to 600mbps. Now I can stream up to 1440 on RU-vid on automatic so can’t complain. Website said 480 but my app goes up to 1440 since a few months ago

Mobile IQ, you are trying to unsell the viewers on MINT Mobile but the attempt does not really work too well. Lowest priced plan with MINT is $15+fees+taxes per month for 3 months and the talk-text-data allotments are, in my viewpoint, excellent. I see no need for "perks".

I am having THE MOST infuriating experience with MM. NOTHING we’ve done to solve this issue has worked. New SIM cards don’t work, nothing. Every time I call out there’s a loud tapping sound like someone is listening in on my call and tapping a metal pen on a metal desk right into the phone. The recipient of my phone call doesn’t hear it, but I do. It’s impossible to talk over. Incoming calls have no issues. I live a very normal life. There’s nothing to spy on my calls over, though Google is insistent that my calls are being tapped. But I still am a bit worried about privacy with MM being much more vulnerable than with other carriers. I really need to save money right or I’d jump back to another carrier in a minute although I detest Verizon and ATT for other reasons/confirmed corrupted morals.
@LuMaxQFPV

So, millions of others aren't having your issue... And you blame the problem on Mint. Do you realize how illogical your conclusions are? Aaaand, you think you're being spied on. ..mmmmkaaay. Problem is in your phone. Get a different phone. They're cheap now.

I have been using google fi for 4 years. I pay $20 plus $6 (for taxes) and get zero data. I usually pay additional $2 or $3 for data (at the rate of $10 per GB). I'm thinking about switching to Mint Mobile because it has a much lower rate ($15 with 5 gb). I watched this video and found none of the things stated in it concerns me. MVNO is EXACTLY WHAT I need because 1) I access the internet mainly through my computer and high speed wifi at home and when I travel, I only use my cell for google map or making calls. 2) I only need one line. My only complaints about google fi is 1) coverage in remote area, e.g, Babb, MT. Once my call was rerouted to a carrier in Canada and the roaming charge was $6 for a 3-minute call. And Fi brags about 'no roaming charges'. 2) Sometimes the other end can't hear me when he answers my call. I don't know if it's a problem with the carrier (T-Mobile/Sprint) or my phone. The solution is to hang up and redial. Not very convenient, especially if I have to wait for an hour or so to get an answer (e.g., when calling IRS or Social Security). google fi does have free text when I travel internationally, while Mint charges 5 cents per text.

These are the kind of videos I don't care for. I see them for things like this or for cell phones or just anything. They go on about what all the bad things are. When in reality, I don't care about all those things your harping on. I use cricket and mint and both work perfectly for all my needs. My point and my gripe is this. Rather than going on about what a service doesn't do. Tell us what it does. Explain well what X service is going to do for the money we pay. If something we need isn't included in the services we do get. Then we know we need to keep looking. You seem like a nice enough guy. But videos like this have become so common that it's sickening. You focus on Mint mobile. So how about doing a in depth video on all the good things MM does provide for their customers. And how they are doing it at just about the lowest single line price you can get. And how MM will support phones that ATT won't. Or how you can use your MM sim in a ipad that is cellular. There are videos out there where people say that's what they do. Is MM tight on the unlimited where hot spotting is concerned? Yes. But if your data needs are 15 gb or less per month and you are signed in to one of those plans, you can use your full data allotment on hotspot. 15 gb plan can be used as 15 gb HS. 10 gb plan can be used as 10 gb HS.
