In this video we’ll remove the Tascam 244 Portastudio’s cassette transport module from the chassis.
In my experience - after refurbishing dozens of 244s - changing the rubber belts idler tires and pinch roller are much easier tasks if you remove the the transport first. It's also easier to clean and demagnetise the unit with the transport module out of the chassis.
This is the sixth video in a how-to course showing the replacement of belts and other rubber parts (e.g. the pinch roller and idler tires) on the Tascam 244 Portastudio 4 track, as well as cleaning and demagnetising the unit.
