Among everyone else here in this list, I have tremendous amount of faith for Mikal Bridges. I hopes he become an All-Star and also the next face of the franchise for this Nets team post-KD and Kyrie.
@lvmsoundwave2923
@lvmsoundwave2923 Год назад
Yes, Mikal was a solid role player on the Suns. They basically had him as a 4th option. Any NBA fan could see that he was good 2-way player and had a lot of potential. I am interested to see if they will still make the playoffs this year and how they do. Brooklyn may need a vet floor general point guard that can unlock those young players potential. Not sure if Dinwidie is a true pt guard.

@@lvmsoundwave2923 Spence has some decent playmaking talents but I’d say he’s more of a shooting guard. He can run the point obviously, but if I were them, I’d work on progressing Cam Thomas’ playmaking abilities and have him be the leader of the offense on more sides than just scoring; have Spence be a 3rd option behind Cam and Mikal.

Jermaine O Neal and Ben Wallace are definitely two guys you think of. Jermaine was a young unproven player in Portland who barely saw the hardwood. But once he got to Indiana he was the driving force behind the team. Averaging 25 points on great efficiency. As for Ben Wallace he got playing time with the wizards but was never the go to guy. That trade to Detroit was phenomenal. Wallace instantly became one of the best defensive big men we’ve ever seen. Leading the pistons in blocks and becoming the anchor of the pistons defensively.

@@loveofmangos001 I'd heard of Davis. Came across him and Rik Smits when looking up the 2000 Pacers team that faced the Lakers. I had a feeling that he could have been who was traded because that finals was the last games of Smits' career, but I also wasn't sure because wasn't O'Neal a power forward and Davis a center? Sure those are both traditionally "big" positions, but I've heard the league cared about positions more in the 2000's and earlier.

As some others have pointed out too: I was surprised Lauri Markkanen didn't make the list since he went from roleplayer to All Star Starter (albeit injury replacement starter) and possibly MIP and probably All NBA too. Yes, their team is fighting for play-in and under .500 but not much and after gutting their roster, it's been mostly Markkanen keeping them afloat.

Could've added Drazen Petrovic too, from warming the bench in Portland, to star in Brooklyn.

So a video on undrafted players who found success. Their are some good ones. Ben Wallace was great. Found his calling on the defensive end. Brad Miller undrafted out of Perdue went to Sacramento and made two NBA Alastair teams. Would be an interesting vid.

I think a lot of other players could have fit the bill but they were on such powerhouse teams that were winning rings, that they had no motivation to leave. Ginobili comes to mind

!!!…One of my favorite topics…!!! Honorable mention Paul Millsap from the jazz to Atlanta (can’t remember if he was traded or signed as free agent) the jazz made a historical franchise mistake not handing Millsap the team under D-Will after Boozer left for Chicago & choosing to go with Big Al Jefferson…!

I'm older, so my mind immediately went to Dana Barros. He spent several years as a backup PG in Seattle, but when he was traded to Philadelphia, he had two great seasons, including an all star season where he averages 21 and 8 and shot 46% from 3.

how about domas sabonis? after he was traded to pacers he became a legit all star caliber and right now he is one of the main reason sacramento kings became a contender this season

12:32 i think reason he didn't won because he was actually way less effective he went from 49% to just 43% from fg in that first rockets season

Others I can think of: Devin Harris when traded to New Jersey Joe Johnson when traded to Atlanta, very similar to what happened to Harden Steve Nash when traded to Dallas And going way back, Bill Laimbeer when traded to Detroit

I don't know about that bro, Dray has a very all around game. He isn't the most physically gifted player, like Steph, but has tremendous fundamentals and skills. If anything, in his rookie season he was being treated like Ben in Washington because he was a 23 yo rookie who spent 5 years in college. He eventually showed that his maturity under veteran coaching made him ready to start and be a star right away. They just had to give him a chance. He's just getting older and more settled into his role at this point in his career, but coming out of college, he was considered to be the start of his MSU team. Magic heavily touted him as being more deserving of respect as a skilled player and even went as far as to compare himself to him in the 2012 draft.

im a suns fan and we knew bridges had this potential his currently showing in brooklyn. specially, when booker got injured last christmas, bridges struggled at first being the first option of the suns offense, but slowly pick it up. go and check his stats before the trade.

I think a good honorable mention among this list would be Fat Lever or maybe Drazen Petrovic. Rhey both were great pieces during their times in Portland but not really a standout player until they got traded to their new teams.

I'm surprised that Mr big shot Chauncey Billups wasn't on the list n Tracy McGrady in my opinion Harden shouldn't be on the list McGrady 99-00 average 15 pts when he got traded to the magic's his points average went up to 27 pts a game in 00-01 season. But this vid was interesting overall

Jordan Clarkson was a role player for the Lakers but became a superstar on the Utah’s Jazz. Another example is Alex Carousal. They were hidden great players that now have a huge chance to show their talents.

Robert Parsih - Pretty solid starter on Golden State but I don't think anyone considered him an All-Star before going to Celtics Tyson Chandler - Instantly earned All-Defensive team after getting traded to the Mavs and became an All-NBA 3rd Team and DPOY a year later with the Knicks

#free_lauri happened in Utah just half a year ago... How can you overlook such a clear example of this exact situation. Lauri went from shooting corner threes as the fourth option on the floor to dunking on everybody and basically being a 50/40/90 guy and the number 1 option... Overnight.
