There are many secrets and tricks in Bonelab. There's secret avatars to unlock, dev mode to enable, and weird doors hidden behind cubes. Lets take a look at these bonelab secrets and more.
The stair and box at 8:50 is a reference to a movie called the Truman show, which is basically about a simulated reality. The invisible box at the top of the stairs is actually a door to reality.
I believe the secret melon at the terrible moon map is actually a reference to melon belly, which is basically the beer of this world. It’s what gives Nullbodies sentience (I think).
That’s not what nullbodies are, nullbodies are a slave race created by MythOS’s core AI for menial labor and the construction of the MythOS City. Under normal circumstances they are (purportedly) mindless/nonsentient, however nullbodies that consume Melon Belly will gain sentience and a will of their own. Melon Belly is made by fermenting melons with void energy for a functionally infinite amount of time inside of time pods, and is produced by lava gang specifically as an illicit export to the nullbodies for a variety of reasons. Lava gang may receive smuggled Myth data or some labor of their own in exchange for the Melon Belly, and on top of that it sows chaos and disarray within MythOS City and Monogon.
For the keycard atop the crablet statue on tuscany, its used for the door at the very back of the map behind the house, you can also find the m1 garand in the room it opens up to.
10:53 The crablet boxes in the game are weird, what it seems like is when you brake it open it has a 50/50 chances of having a crablet inside it or having nothing.
@@very_real Ok so I did some in-game testing, and on Tuscany the crablet boxes seem to be a mystery for now as no crablets spawn from them nor have a purpose that we know of. I did find some other things though, In the house were you start you can find yet another crablet boxes on the ceilings foundation planks. I also found that if you flip the ammo machine ( or whatever it's called ) on the bottom you'll find ( 2/18/22 R.Y.E) and 38 tallie marks. Not sure what this means and im not sure if we'll know any time soon.
Idk why bonelab put Tuscany in the game but it was one of the OG VR experiences back in the Google cardboard days. I remember loading it up for the first time and wandering around in 3DOF. At the time it seemed so magical and immersive
the green smiley face could be a reference to the logo of polycount, polycount being a website for 3d modelers to post their portfolios/network/learn how to 3d model
9:38 its a reference to the truman show where basically a baby was kidnapped at birth and put inside of this live action TV show for his entire life and he never knew, but at the end of the movie he discovers it was all a lie and escapes through a staircase just like that one
For everything which is new, you have to reload first. For example if you find the nimbus gun in the hub, it won't appear inside one of the cupboards as it should. But if you relead the bonelab hub scene it appears. Same is with developer mode.
The invisible staircase is an actual functioning doorway but the other side doesnt load in until you unlock the door. To unlock the door you use the key card on the crablet statue and there is a key card slot by the invisible door. Note the key card slot is invisible as well so you have to look hard
If you use the card on the invisible door and your NOT on no clip mode, you can press that button and you can go through that door. There are two hidden capsules in there. The skeleton npc and the m1 grand.
The little ball thing at 6:18 to me looked like a testing object, They way that you hold it and the fact that you cant force grab it makes it seem like it was one of the first things added to the game. Which could also mean the moon was the first level created.
Another secret avatar is the skeleton, in magma gate on one of the the side broken bridges in the lava, there is a steel cage with the avatar underneath
you have to go to the vilage go to the crablet statue get the card on top of its head then go to that stair case in tuscany then put the card in the right side of the door then you can go thru it and hit the airlock button witch then opens the round door there and you can fly up to the first fan and behind the fan blade is a capsule that has the skellation npc
Yeah the game has had a lot of criticism since the game requires you to figure things out on your own, I spent a while looking around the lab figuring out what I have to do but it was well worth it! I feel like if they just told you what to do it would take away from the mysterious lab feel to it, but again people are complaining about where they have to go on the moon map when half the spawn room is taken up by a map telling you where to go
@@incognito3dmodelinganimati668 exactly. I feel like the people who struggle with the game and complain are not quite there in the head. It requires you think, problem solve and discover. Now they have updated the game so it tells you exactly what to do and completely reworked the pillar level so that it was really boringly easy. They couldve made the forced body switch thing work and not annoying by having it so every character can complete it with unique pathways only certain ones can take. As short and heavy it was impossible to complete but they couldve had it so there was a route only short and heavy could take like a small tunnel or a pathway openable with huge strength.
@@ImNotFine44 Yeah my only complaint with the boids is it wasn't super explained with the whole avatar switching thing and it being a bit inconsistent sometimes but it being the last avatar level I think it's a really cool way to make you try out all the avatars in one level!
@@strateupgamr7 and yet everytime i try and change avatar within 2m of the machine it latches on and i have to walk away to get it to unattach. it also has the tab i mentioned. its just that your oblivious.
I got to the top of the space tower for the first time (when you’re stuck as the cat) by summoning the board-tape gun and building a ladder to climb up. I actually thought the next avatar was up there because I didn’t read the map right. But hey I got the gruber there. Favorite pistol aside from that beretta with the laser sight
The secret on the moon, I climbed up using a mix of the light avatar and the tall avatar, it is possible to get up without clipgun Edit: I used those gray ropes to climb up, if you are wondering
This button is actually for a VR achievement. After you press it it gives you a badge called Tuscany. There are more of these in every single sandbox map
For people who dont know the tuscany map has been updated you can now go inside the staircase door is now free to explore the keycard is ontop of the crablet statue you can open the door go all the way too the top and there is a door that need a powercell the cell is under the big fan next to the door place that in explore and there is a stack of small crates and one has the m1 grand onside it the other rooms are useless
Actually, if you take that card and go over to that door you could put it in the side, and then you could no clip through it, and then you can go up the Hallway end to the second. Send then go through the hallway to the first door and go put the battery in, and then you can go through it. In one of the crates, is a m1grand
I got to the top of the moon tower in campaign because I thought that where the orb is, you gotta climb the wires then use gun recoil at the top of the platforms to get up
at 8:50 its a door and you can open it with a keycard thats on the statue in the village and there is a battery that you find in a fan and use it to get to a locked office that has the m1 garand
In the bone bowling alley there is a hatch behind the bowling pins if you noclip down there you can get a capsule and find a clip board with lore on it
9:05 That is a reference to the 1990s movie. The Truman show where this man grows up in a simulation and then realizes that hes been inside of a large dome and a reality TV show for 30. Some years and at the very end of the movie he discovere A small rectangular door in staircase just like the one you found in the video in the ocean. That allows allows him out and eventually into the real world
The random staircase with a square on top that leads to a Airlock door Is actually a reference to a movie Or the main character is a Main character in a TV show he doesn't know hes a part of
9:37 if you go to the town to the left a statue will appear and on top will be a keycard and if you look to the right of the door not the circle door the square door there will be a keycard slot put the keycard into it and it will open then press the button next to the circular door and it will open.
At the staircase secret, there is a keycard on top of a statue to the village to the left, if you put the keycard to the side of the door it'll open up and there's a really cool secret ;)
8:50 this part I watched a video so there is this statue and at the top of it there is this keycard and so you take the keycard go over to that little box stairs and stick in the keycard somewhere and open the door press the airlock button there is this little area and when you go up there are these fans and inside the first one is the skeleton npc
You have to beat the hub and unlock the other door and then press the button and it’ll open then you have to break the box in it like brings you to the top to continue
So you know how there's a card on top of the weird crablet statue grab the card and go back to the invisible stair case and go to the top right and pull out the card and you can slot it in then the case opens then you can open the metal door and the rest you can see for your self its pretty cool
I think the reason tuscany is weird is because the ingame devs are still working on it in one of the story mission's it was shown that the devs moved from the town to tuscany
Bro, in the new update if you find a key card, there’s a little key card slot you put it in there and then it will load that whole entire area. They will be this little room with a cap so it’s like a shotgun but if you like run out of ammo, there’s a blade on the tip
Wait, is there something I need the cards for? I dropped them when.I saw them because I didn't want to lose my load out but I have been curious about that for awhile
@@very_real fuck, how did I not put that together 😂😂 I have seen the key card doors so much but never once thought to try that. Thanks for the info and quick reply!!
The stairway and door thing in Tuscany you are able to get in without the clipping through walls thing if you go over to this Statue on top of it is a key card then you bring it to the door then open it push the button then Go up this really really slow long elevator and you'll be able to find a gun that has an attached knife
