I am English and live in the UK. In the UK we say neesh. I think the word has French origins as many English words do. This goes back to the Norman invasion in 1066.

I’m French Canadian and we pronounce niche like Tish or dish, so nish, and no T sound. In France, they pronounce it “neesh”. All those who pronounce it with a hard T sound are wrong. 💯

It's Neesh (pronunciation). It's a French word. Plus, there is no frickin' T in the word. I hear French words bastardized all the time. For those who can't handle facts, live with it.
