Credit scores are just a form of federal control, so if you want to continue living a good life? it’s important to have a high score. Here's another piece of advice: if you grew up in an abusive home in the middle of nowhere and you're starting your 20s with zero personal resources (emotional, spiritual, behavioural, relational, etc.), don't worry about what this man is saying, except for not comparing yourself to his imagined 20 year old audience. He's presupposing that you're at the starting line and ready to go. You are not ready. You have to heal and learn how to live first. I spent my 20s doing that painful work. Do I regret spending my healthiest, most energetic years of life that way? Of course I regret it, it's not fair at all. It was necessary though, or my 30s would also be a void. If your 20s are the same as mine were, don't feel worse about it because a mogul in NYC is telling you to enjoy yourself and take your time building wealth. Do what you have to do.
