When we visit London, my wife & I stay at La Gaffe; a good Italian restaurant with hotel rooms on Heath Street in Hampstead. It is reasonable, comfortable and an easy walk to the Heath. Five minutes to the Hampstead Tube Station. We'll be there in a month.

Beautiful view of the city of London! That's cool ponds to swim in, very interesting! A month isn't even enough time to do things London you need a year
Hampstead Heath is BIG and heavily wooded in some areas which means you can get lost even with Google maps. It can also get muddy in winter as many of the paths are not paved, so wear sensible footwear. However, it is beautiful and open 24/7 so you can sit on Parliament Hill and watch the sunrise or sunset. Have fun! (Film; Belle )
I used to live around Hampstead Heath for many years so I can say for sure you’ve covered some great areas there . I’ve been following your videos for a while and I continue to be impressed by the quality and insightful ness. I have a question not related to parks. Friends and I are planning a trip to London and we want to go on the London Eye and Tower of London October 29, 2019 and we are trying to figure out if we need to get tickets ahead of time or because it is not peak season, can we just buy them there?
Apart from the well known 'Notting Hill', one film shot entirely on Hampstead Heath is 'Scenes of a Sexual Nature'. Ignore the misleading title, which makes it sound like soft porn. This is a sweet natured film about seven couples and their relationships, shot on a beautiful sunny day entirely on location. I remember it for a beautiful petite French actress called Eglantine Rembauville - Nicolle and the equally lovely Pergola, which took me many years to find its location (Inverforth Close, off the North End Road).
There used to be a funfair at Hampstead Heath that I loved when I was a kid. It’s a very wealthy area, a lot of Arsenal footballers live locally. How did I know you'd end up in the pub Jess! No, the two parts of Highgate Cemetery are to the east of Hampstead Heath. The easiest way to get there is via Highgate tube station, cross the main road, then go up Southwood Lane to Highgate High Street, then to Swain's Lane. You can also get to the bottom of Swain's Lane from Hampstead Heath at the bottom of Parliament Hill on the eastern side.
Problem with Britain is the weather. The history is fantastic. Still way too damp. Reminds me of the N.W. U.S. always rains there too. Both locations. Ocean to your west. Winds blowing east. Seems to equal wet.
It doesn't rain in London as much as people think it does. It's been a little wet recently but this weekend and next week are going to be glorious and we had some really hot weather earlier in the summer. It definitely wetter the further north and west you go in the UK. Usually the weather is pleasant enough in the summer to enjoy your day without sweating like a pig (unless on the tube). In the winter it's never incredibly freezing like Canada but it is quite grey and dark.
I had wondered what / where that was - will have to go next time I visit London. We were just there for 3 weeks this summer. Thx for this video - great places to visit!!
