Yup I gave resin 3d printing a try. Bought a cheap Halot One Pro and one of their UV/cleaning machines. Quickly discovered that it just wasn't for me. I especially dislike the smell it gives off and how messy the whole print process is. And using chitubox isn't exactly as fast and convenient as using Cura. After doing just 5 prints I just parked the whole thing and decided to concentrate on FDM instead. Im trying to find motivation to give it another shot before that halot one's plastic cover ends up being a flower pot on my garden. 🤣
That seems to be a common story in regards to how someone’s resin printer end up just gathering dust. Lychee Slicer (even the Pro version) starts lagging bad with larger models so I understand what you mean 😅 There you go! I’d definitely start slow so ya don’t get overwhelmed as post processing really is tedious; however, once you get your own rhythm going like I did then it “feels” a lot easier. Just take perseverance & repetition before you develop it so keep it up! 🤘
Valid concern! I actually recently released a product that is resin printed and I'm actually making a serious profits with it as well as selling a fair amount of them, but what's important is streamlining the workflow so that you can process prints quickly and efficiently. That's easier said than done for sure, but once you get it dialed in the process becomes just as simple as FDM post processing for me except with a few extra step. All in all, it is possible to do successfully but wouldn't be something I'd recommend anyone take on without preparation.
