Here are 6 things no one is telling you the 2020 Honda Accord can do. These tips and tricks will surprise you! Why is no one at the dealership showing you these hidden features?
Just test drove a new 2020 Accord LX and came away extremely impressed! This car is engineered so well. Fit and finish, quality, workmanship, drivability, ride and handling and engine/transmission performance are superb. I love the way the doors close from the outside with a solid thunk just like on high end luxury cars. I've test driven the competition and the Accord is absolutely BEST in class! The Accord drives like a much more expensive car.
Highly recommend the 2020 Honda Accord, insurance went down from all the awesome safety features. Great ride, reliable, get compliments all the time. Thanks for great review
bilal masood I haven’t tbh. I’m always a late bloomer in that department. I like to see what others are doing to theirs and then decide if it’s a good idea or not. So far nothing has caught my eye.
Thank you!! My salesman was very helpful, but there's only so much you can go over in one meeting, especially with the jitters of a huge life purchase. I'm going to implement nearly all of these tricks & settings next time I'm in my car. Very helpful video. Thank you for sharing. 🙂
i just bought 2020 Accord EX-L and i love it. I pick it up this week and i wanted to look into the features and how to pop trunk and other things. Im happy i saw this video and im so happy i seen some of the other features you mentioned. Thanks so much :)
You know what is a good thing to know about cars like honda and ford with their capless fuel tanks is that to know where your gas adapter for when you are out of gas and needing to use a portable gas filler it usually is where the tool kit is at and looks like a funnel. Dont lose the funnel because usually its size specific for the car
Thank you so much Justin you're a life saver just purchased my vehicle reading the manual is a whole new language for me. This video really help please do more for the 2020 Honda Accord EXL. God bless you! Can you tell us how to change the temperature to hotter inside the car while using auto starter during winter season.
bought my 2020 accord ex about 2 weeks ago... love it! (although it's missing a few things that my 2016 kia optima had that i REALLY enjoyed - namely the Harman Kardon sound system & panoramic sunroof. the cooling seats will be missed also.😟) i knew about the walk away auto lock and i love it (but mine doesn't need 10 feet. it basically locks once all the doors are closed, i can be standing right next to the car & the doors will lock.) i really enjoyed the parking brake tip, i will start using that one! really enjoyed the video. 🙂
thank you, thank you, and thank you - I got absolutely no instructions when I purchased the car. This video has been EXTREMELY helpful. As a senior - until I saw this video - I didn't even know how to release the key. My trunk of my car would periodically open - I had to go to "you tube" to learn the truck can be locked from glove box - I guess, it is all about the sale!!
You prolly dont give a shit but does someone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost my password. I appreciate any help you can give me
Great tips! I didn't know about the Developer options and the trick about having your DRL turned off while having the car on. This Accord is amazing. Mine is Sport 2.0T model. I highly recommend getting the 2.0T engine if you could afford it. The 10 speed alone makes it worth it, but a true sleeper. I think it ended up being faster than Honda thought it would be because it is mopping the floor with most cars in its class and similar classes.
Trulux Overall the touring trim is a well rounded vehicle and you get the bang for your buck. Decent mpg, plenty of safety features, build quality is great, and the overall space of the vehicle is superb. The only thing I would have a complaint about is the steering. If you’re ever in a situation where you need to make a sharp turn there’s a bit of a delay. If this isn’t a huge concern I’d say this is the best accord yet.
I just got my dream car and I've been looking for cheap ways to mod it while i save up money for bigger stuff (as a college student lol). I went through the menu options in one night and was sorely disappointed. I KNEW there was a back chanel!!! Thanks so much for showing me how to find it. Gonna go have fun now
Went to Honda dealership yesterday and today, couldn’t decide between accord sport and camry LE. But today i decided to go with accord sport- its just so sexy! Its has a sleek look, spacious cabin and the interior design feels expensive then the camry. Will pick it up tomorrow. Thank you for these helpful tips, none of these info were shared at the dealership.
The drl thing is the same as with my 07 accord, they don’t come on until I undo the parking brake. When we still had a drive in, this feature was invaluable. I remember my big gripe with the instrument panel on the 10th gen was that the speedometer was the fixed gauge and I felt it should have been the tach (since I prefer the manual transmission), seeing that there is an option to always keep the tach displayed removes that gripe for me, didn’t know that. Now the problem is finding a 2.0t sport with the 6 speed in 2023. Lol
The parking brake can also be set to come on automatically. With the car in park, set the parking brake by pulling the lever up and releasing. Then (with your foot off of the brakes), pull it up and hold it until it beeps. Just remember to turn it off in a conveyor-belt car wash. With the push-button transmission, you don't need to put it in park before turning the car off. And finally, with the hybrid, you can shift into drive while still moving slowly in reverse.
Absolutely! Speaking of using car wash with conveyor belts, just as you reach the end of the wash and ready to drive. Remember you have to hold the break and then hit the push button gear selector to ‘D’. So make sure you’re conscious of the car behind you if you go for washes at busy times.
Two things I miss on the 9th gen is lane watch camera and the fact you could change the color theme on your infotainment screen. Blue, red, yellow, green, grey
Our 2020 Touring is 2 weeks old. We discovered all these settings from another video too but since we took delivery of our car during the COVID-19 shutdown, the salesman wasn't allowed to be in the car with us due to social distancing. I missed HOW to setup to Parking Brake to go on automatically. Something about holding it up for 3 seconds like 3X??? I'm not recalling how to do that! Also, my partner was freaking out because he was seeing KPH instead of MPH and that's the tachometer setting if you hold down the scroll wheel too long.
hey i got a question for you is the heated mirror switch the icon next to the rear defroster? also how can you activate a beep noise when backing up if you're close to an object?
Justin, Since I went into Dev mode my screen blacks out in a minute and only the back button brings it back to life.. then it goes black again a minute later.. How do I exit Dev mode..? Tapping About says “you are already on Dev mode”..
2020 Honda CRV - All songs are mp3, purchased from Amazon, or downloaded from my CDs. Install all songs on Sandisk flash drive from iMac / iTunes. All songs play in the car but when you look into each folder, there are 2 copies of each song. One plays the other states Unplayable. When the flash drive is on iMac, there is only one copy of each song. The other issue is that when this flash drive is played in my wife's 2019 Accord, there is no problem with double copies. Could there be two different types of mfg of this flash drive reader in the cars? Flash drive is standard FAT/32 format. I've had this problem for years. First my 2007 CRV, then my 2013 CRV, now the new one. Honda just blew me off when I presented this issue. My dealer continues to work on the problem but does not have a solution? Can you solve this problem? Don't know if that mystery secret screen could help? Did see something called USB debugging?
I spoke to the technical advisor and they told me the Walkaway auto lock feature is on available on the 2.0T and V6 models. I think there is a hack for this as all models usually have the same firmware, it just needs to activated in the developer setting. Also there is a Live Data feature, similar to what you find when you have an OBDII reader with Live Data. I think you can read MIL/CEL codes without a scanner connected because it’s built in.
Justin, do you know how to turn off the disclaimer that pops up on the screen when you first start the car? I've not been able to get it to quit, despite disabling the HondaLink stuff.
Accord 9 2014 year has the same feature with daytime lights and parking brake. At first I even did't understand why sometimes my lights doesn't work until the car starts moving. Then I understood that parking brake is the reason)
Awesome tips. That walkaway auto lock, does it work when the car is on? Can you lock the car when the engine is on? I just found out Civic doesn't let me lock the door when the engine is on. Very strange setting if this cannot be adjusted. Even Nissan Sentra and Rogue can do it. Sometimes you start the car, then realize you forgot something inside the house, you just want to run quickly but still lock the door without turning the car off. Very convenient.
Are the keys inside the vehicle when you are trying to lock it? The car doors will not lock if the keys are in the car. It will lock while the car is on though, that is how the remote start works...
@@JustinFullerReviews with my Nissan Sentra back then,I got 2 manual keys. 1 key would be stuck inside the car as the engine is turned on. I step outside, push the lock button on my remote key. Doors are locked. My current Rouge is keyless start. I can still step outside with engine fully on and lock the doors using remote key. Cannot do that with 2017 nor 2020 Civic. I'm so frustrated that Honda doesn't even care about small convenience like this.
question about the button shifter - what are your actual thought on it long term? isnt it better to have the actual shifter(back and forth you move) for it park drive than the buttons. wont it cause issues with the button shifter and be costly? I changed my exl cvt to an automatic 2.0 and it has the button shifter. I read in consumer report it will be costly to fix if anything happens and may get stuck and the transmission is shot. so i was happy to be able to change it but they are waiting to get the 2.0 but told me it comes with button shifter instead??? it is good and looks great but im not sure??? I read in the consumer report on cars with button shifter or a dial honda wasn't one of them they had mercedes bmw audi ford acura and a few others
I read that if there is a concern it will not befor the first or second owner. It would the extended long term. And this is only if.. there is an issue. I like the button shifters and how they clean up the dash. I have used over vehicles with knob shifters, etc. Some of them feel very cheap and flimsy. I find the Honda button shifter to more more substantial feeling. For this I think we are in good hands.
@@JustinFullerReviews thank you so much. I read on consumer report and edmunds they are ok but not good on other cars as i stated above. I wanted to get an honest opinion from someone that knows more. Im glad i changed from exl 1.5cvt to 2.0t automatic. They are waiting to find me one in silver :) thanks again so much for your help.
I just got a 2020 Sport my front dome lights don’t come on when I open the door only the one in the middle of the ceiling comings on how do I make all lights to come on when the door opens
Just got my 2020 2.0t sport on July 31st from Lucas honda in jax, man i love it the sport mode is crazy and i have beaten sone Camry’s with more horsepower!!
I’m looking to buy the manual version of that. And I expect you to beat those camrys cause of the crazy torque the sport trim has. Heh. I just wish it came with a two tone option like the new camry xse.
Congrats to Tommy on his new Truck! He writes, "Hey TFL team! I just wanted to thank you guys for all the awesome content that you guys put out on all of your channels! I recently picked up this 2020 F-150 with the 3.5L Ecoboost and being able to watch your in-depth reviews on every truck was incredibly more helpful than the salesmen at the dealerships. I hope you guys get back on good terms with Ford. You do great things for them! Just wanted to say keep up the great work and keep killing it Andre! Thanks from Chicago, Tommy"
Was it your headlights that stayed on, or perhaps an interior light? The auto lights are on a timer to go off. You can even adjust that amount of time. I am curious if perhaps there is something else going on.
I'm considering picking up a 2020 Accord 2.0L Sport. I'm getting around 27k pricetag with 33k msrp. is this a good price? I saw the invoice and it's about $1500 under factory invoice.
Sounds pretty good. I would focus on the out the door number though, and not a sales price. You want to know what the total number is after all fees, add-ons, etc.
Not all the mode, have walk away auto lock. The lx, hybrid, and regular 1.5 sport don't have it. Only the 2.0 sport, ex, ex-l, Touring, and 2.0 touring.
Display the tachometer and then press and hold silver dial on left side of steering wheel. We accidentally changed it to KPH and you know we Americans hate the metric system... lol
Use the menu button on the left side of the steering wheel and toggle over to the miles per hour / kilometers an hour option. You should be able to select it and switch.
I don't have the walk away auto lock available 2020 Honda Accord 1.5 Sport. Am I doing something wrong there is nothing there that says Walk away all I have is Auto door unlock
So mine is a 2019 sport, and doesn’t give me the option for auto door lock walk away. I’ve even checked for updates and it says my system is currently up-to-date. So apparently they’re not pushing this out for the 1.5 sport
My 2012 accord has 310k miles, and is being pushed to her limits everyday. This is my third time seeing a recommendation for a newer model accord... im thinking my phone can see the future 🧐
