Just bought my 2020 Honda HR-V a few weeks ago, and I'm loving it! Your video simplifies your tips and tricks seamlessly. I wasn't aware of the "Lounge" mode, but what a great feature! I've been nothing but impressed with this car, with the lane keep assist, auto dim headlights, and the right side mirror having a camera for the blind spot, but if you press the button on the end of the left stalk, turns on another camera aimed straight DOWN, so you can see the curb and parking lot stripes between the lanes. I used to be really lousy at parallel parking, but no more! Thanks for the video, lots of folks are going to like it.
This is the ONLY video that answered my question. I wanted to know if the front passenger seat can recline all the way back and believe it or not, YOUR video is the only one out there that showed me. This is awesome. It may be the reason i buy this car. Thx brother !!
Good tips. :) The Lounge mode goes back to the Gen1 CRV. I drove across Canada in one and used it more than once for a bit of an extended nap when the weather outside was bad.
This was very helpful. Just bought an HRV and didn't know any of these tricks. SO cool. My experience will be so much better due to this video. Thank you.
How about adding the remote window opening to your tips. Something I found out by accident. Unlock your car with the remote, and quickly double press and hold down the unlock button. Great for hot days when car is parked under the sun, to open the windows just before you get to the car.
Thank you! I knew you could change the fuel efficiency light but couldn’t remember what setting it was under. I didn’t know about the lock button on the tailgate and that lounge chair option is sweet, definitely trying that out!
Good job! I thought i was going crazy. The ring lite was red then green.. but I was like or was it. I only had the car for a couple of days. I thought I was just making it up. But now I know Im not crazy and the ring light has been changing colors lol too funny
Thanks Justin!👍👍 I own a 2020 had a2019 .love them. My wife had a mishap at Starbucks. Sticky coffee in the cruise control button. Can I pop the triangle trim out and pop the rubber buttons out for cleaning. Only had it 3 months.
Wow thanks so much. I just bought a lightly used 2020 touring AWD model and I really like it. I just think the radio is hard to program. Maybe you can do a video on the radio, music and navigation.
You are awesome!!! Loved the lighting on the dash, I get a white or green default and really don’t like green can’t wait to change it to fun colors! You are right, the dealers don’t know these tricks!
Greetings from the uk, I love my brand new hrv sport, our uk spec cars are quite different to yours especially the sport as we have the 1.5 vtec turbo engine in the sport but I learned from you about the backlight setting, cool to see a different colour every day 😆
You had a couple I wasn't aware of. The passenger recliner mode was actually demonstrated for me by my sales rep at Coeur d'Alene Honda in Idaho (I live in Spokane, WA). I went there because they offer LIFETIME powertrain warrantees on all vehicles new AND used. The rep even had me do it for myself TWICE, to make sure I got it right. My credit union has a partnership with the dealer as well, so I didn't even have to get preapproved for my loan, just did it all in the finance office. The finance guy was in his mid thirties, but had all the paperwork in size 20 font, for us old guys, and had a separate extra large monitor for me to be able to follow along with him. First time the sales contract wasn't written in legalese, but in simple English, too. The smoothest, and I must say, most pleasant new car purchase I've ever made (I'm 69). Here's one for you: The Honda H on the wheels are aligned directly with the tire valve, so in low light especially, you can easily find the valve! How cool is that? If you have a tire repaired though, you have to be sure that you get the service advisor (at anywhere other than a Honda dealership) to make sure that the mechanic or tire person makes sure to mount the tire the same way (correctly, as far as I'm concerned). I had a tire repaired recently, and when the tire guy did it RIGHT, I made sure to stop and compliment him on his professionalism and attention to detail. Cost me all of 2 minutes, and made a friend in the process. That, and he went home that night feeling good about himself, and he'll probably start remounting tires correctly for every one he works on for the rest of his career. That's paying it forward for myself, and everyone else that gets a tire repaired there. Pretty cool, huh? Thanks for the channel, and the tips. You do nice clear videos, speak good English, and you have wonderful diction that allows us to understand you and not have to replay the video multiple times to be sure we hear you right. You have a good voice for radio and voiceover work, my friend. That's an industry (I've done a lot of it) that after a take is finished and approved, you walk out the door with your check in your hand. No waiting for it to arrive in the mail. Super strong union, too, for your protection. Think about it! And keep the videos coming!
Hey, hey. I was considering whether or not to buy the HRV-eX. I worried about the title saying dealer tricks, i thought it was a defect that they were not telling us about and was getting disappointed in buying it. But after seeing it, I am more confident and eager to get into one. I love the last one, love the lounge seat.
@@fernr.5675 I heard the same thing. My wife and I drove from Chicago to Phoenix, a bit over 1,700 miles in our new 2019 HR-V EXL. At no point did either of us feel uncomfortable. Another note, the lane assist and adaptive cruise control. Set them both, and every 30 seconds you will be reminded to "Touch the Steering Wheel". On those endless miles in the middle states, I learned to hang one thumb on the wheel. I could go for miles letting the car drive itself. It was terrific! Just don't fall asleep... oh, wait, the lane assist keeps you on your lane, and if the car in front slows, you slow, and if it stops, you will stop and probably wake up by that point!
@@thomaseaton4077 Thanks, getting a real customer feed back helps a lot. Would you say the Leather is worth it. I am on the west coast and a runner. Although aesthetically it might look nice, i have a feeling maintenance may be an issue.
@@fernr.5675 I really no longer care about leather. We have a Honda Fit at our home in Poland... it has cloth upholstery. I really like the cloth, maybe not as durable, but we have no more dogs or little kids riding with us so it is not an issue.
My dealership told me I didn't have the auto headlights. I love that feature and the Subaru that my other have had. But you can have the auto headlights that also do the auto high beams. Unfortunately the auto high beams isn't as good as the Subaru version but it's still a great addition and a good trick to know. I also like when I walk away from my vehicle it auto locks. This is on a Honda HRV 2020 ex edition
Regarding the tips and tricks video. Do these tricks apply to the base lx model too. Planning on getting one tomorrow and that would make it even better. I'm a point a to b person but i do like unique options. Please respond asap as I'm planning on getting one tomorrow. Lol. Thanks for your expertise and information.
Is there any trick to open up the tailgate manually from the inside?... mine is stuck, so even using my key fob to unlock or that button to unlock from the driver's side door it's still hard to open up the trunk door.
Thanks for all of your videos. I have one quick question, I just bought a 2022 Accord Hybrid. I tried to enter the developer options mode by pushing the three buttons at the same time. NG, Is this feature unavailable in the hybrid. Thank you in advance
Nice tips But I don't recommend going to the hidden Menu too many times. I did this a few times too many and Boom !🤯 I could not turn on the radio anymore and the message appears saying I " lost my GPS signal and my anti theft was disabled!". From there I had to start the car, drive to an open area, turn on the radio and it had to reset itself. Phew! Thank God it worked!
Salut Justin !
Can you remind me how to exit out of vehicle settings? I had to recalibrate the tires yesterday and now I can't exit out to my regular gas mileage screen. I just keep going in a loop through all of the settings.
Hey man, a bit unrelated to this vid - I’m looking at the Honda Civic touring 2019 or 2020. I’m not in a rush to buy right now. Do you think I should wait for the next gen model to come out next spring?
I read that there will not be a 2021, but instead a 2022 coming in late spring of next year. It is my understanding right now that there will not be any big changes. With that said it just depends on how soon you want your Honda....
I just bought my 2020 HR-V EX on the 11th & today I pulled a lever (?) forward that is on the right side of the steering wheel (not anything to do with the windshield wiper lever; this isn’t a stick, it’s like a flat thing you pull toward yourself). I’m pretty sure it changed the way it drives (the letter on the left side of the dash kept changing, I want to say D, Dx7, S?), & the guy who sold it to me explained that this car changes from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive automatically depending on what it detects, & I don’t want to somehow unknowingly mess that up. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I’ve watched several of your videos, & read the manual, but haven’t been able to figure it out 😩
Sounds like you were using the paddleshifters. They allow you to effect the shifting of the vehicle. There are paddle shifters on the left and right side behind the steering wheel.
1. The key fob has a hatch symbol on it. Firmly push that. If that does not work try number two. 2. Place your four fingers on the release pad above the license plate as though you're lifting the hatch. Hold them a moment and you may hear a tone. Then, apply more pressure as you raise the trunk. It should release. 3. Look directly at the release bad above the rear license plate. There may be a small button on either side that you press first or along with the whole pad to release the hatch. 4. If none of the above work, take it back to the dealer and ask them to show you how to open it.
