Another tip: The auto high beams can be turned on and off. With the vehicle running and in park, pull back on the high beam lever and hold it in that position. In 30 seconds, you'll see the head light icon on the center driver display flash once. This indicates the auto feature is active. Continue to hold the lever pulled back for another 20 seconds until the head light icon flashes twice. Release the lever. The auto high beam feature is now disabled.

One other trick you can add is showing how to lock all doors from the hatch, with the button that is HIDDEN (located on the right-hand side of the switch to open the hatch). This saves you the trouble to get that FOB out of your pocket to lock the car or go back to a door and lock the doors by touching the ridges on the handle.

you have a "walk away lock" function, no need to take out the fob

I didn’t like the walk away function for 2 reasons: I’d forget to listen to make sure it locked; and when camping, walking by the car, it was annoying.

Between the two, I would recommend the CRV. But I understand that different people have different budgets when looking at these two vehicles. But since it sounds like you have the option to consider both, I would go with the CRV. 😁👍

Knew several of them from my ex roommates 2017 Civic. Trading a 19 Forester for a 21 CRV Hybrid EX this afternoon, and THANK YOU for the different skin tip. I have not been a fan of the standard rectangle tile layout, and wish they would have just done the new software on the CRV, when they put the volume knob back... but this will be the next best thing. Nice, big buttons to hit. The wallpapers will be a nice touch too, the ex roommate hast stuck with the ugly stock blue.
