Stoicism was founded by men, specifically by the ancient Greek philosopher Zeno of Citium around the early 3rd century BCE. Stoicism was later developed and popularized by other prominent male philosophers, such as Cleanthes, Chrysippus, Epictetus, Seneca, and the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius. However, while Stoicism was historically developed by men, its principles are universal and have been embraced by all people who aren't sexist about where things come from.
