In South Park Stick of Truth, I would enter every home, turn off the tv they were watching,and then take a dump in the toilet without flushing, just seemed like the right thing to do.
Breaking the law and running away never to be bothered with again until you accidently speak to a guard. Then if you claim to be a member of some underground organization you're free to go, that is if you don't have enough money on you to bride the guard on the spot.
Believe it or not, but in GTA V, I actually follow the traffic laws including stopping at red lights, doing the speed limit (sometimes I'll do like ten over), and even parking correctly. I also do a lot of walking instead of running. It really adds to the immersion of actually being there. Of course, there are times when I have to break traffic laws, like during car chases and other illegal activities where time is of the essence but that even further adds to the immersion. Throw first person mode in the mix and I'm totally immersed.

The other thing that annoys me with clothes in video games is wearing the same thing regardless of the environment - Squall wears his heavy leather jacket in the desert and Selphie wears her cute little yellow pinafore in the snow! At least with Ni No Kuni, you do get weather-specific clothing.
This perfectly illustrates how I just got the "fully upgrade mad max" trophy in act 2 because there was just so many optional points of interest that I clearly needed to explore before finally getting on with acquiring a V8.
Dialogue options. Imagine standing there as someone cycles through all their potential responses before deciding which one is best or accidentally clicking on the same dialogue choice forcing you to repeat yourself because they werent paying attention
This is a great video. Please make a second one. Especially the first one, I remember a game called Prisoner Of War, where at times you had to walk instead of run, and it was so tedious, and ever since then I've noticed you always run in video games.
Lol, the odd thing is I actually do #5 in real life. I carry a backpack everywhere, and rummage through it for everything. If I'm shopping at a store, I go through that thing. Need water, my phone, keys you get the picture, I go through my inventory.
Fun fact about horse ridding in cities. While it was common enough for those who could afford horses in cities to ride them(the streets themselves were incredibly muddy). Venice had countless issues with horses and their ridders for centuries to the point that in the mid 16th century they just said "that is it no horses period!"
Not very relevant to every day life, but my videogame habit is to force a weapon reload after 2-3 shots. "Oh I sent 2 messages with my phone, better recharge it!"
Railroad Tycoon III had an extremely sophisticated economic model. That's why, the fastest way to go broke was to keep hauling the same cargoes between the same points in the same way. You had to either find a new cargo, new endpoints, a more efficient locomotive, build a shorter route, and you usually had to do it in 1-2 game years.
I game on PC and have 3 games on ps4, but this channel is great. There's actual comedy here, and not just regurgitated list topics. It's almost always something I want to see.
walking up to some person's car, pulling them out (NPC's in most games don't seem to know what seatbelts are), then using their car to mow down both them and large quantities of pedestrians without any real consequences. I mean, that sort of thing would usually result in some sort of jail time, right?
When games break these cliche's, it's always a shock. Skyrim guards will yell at you for dropping weapons in town for example. Probably the biggest surprise in the whole game
+Lord Serge That's how my skyrim adventure started! I had just gotten to Riverrun, and thought: "Oh! A chicken! Maybe it will drop something useful." And was promptly murdered by every living thing in the town. I avoided chickens like plague after that.
Two exceptions to the last one I can think of are Undertale and Fable. In Undertale you can only sell to Tem Shop, who is somewhat of a derp. In the Fable series, you sell stuff at pawn shops, which change their prices for supply and demand. I mean, they're pawn shops, so it makes sense to sell to them.
yeah, Skyrim Kinda does that too, They buy only what they can sell ( Unless you grow your Speechcraft and get perks) they'll also buy it at much lower price than you would buy it - just like real life

Good point. It is rather far-fetched that the entire plot of an Arkham game is supposed to have happened in one night, but that's a separate discussion lol. By the time you finish collecting all the Riddler trophies in Arkham City, the game might as well be called Batman: The Night That Never Ends xD
ThePhantomAssassin12 I think I was referring to the "pristine" one you get at the end of the game which I guess you have to choose to change into but it is mentioned in the main game so I counted it haha.
1- repeatedly hitting immortal npcs 2- smashing into or grinding a car to get round corner in a race 3- passing to keeper for him to try scoring 4- keeping food in backpack for ages and still eating it 5- disobeying military orders to become one man army and destroying entire cities 6- practicing/testing magic and special skills in middle of town 7- starting fights in school with mythical beasts or weapons and cross species relations
ok heres one i was suprised didnt appear: stareing at NPCs forever. in games staring at people for five minuites at a time is fine. in real life however, the results will get you a restraining order and the word "pedofile" shouted at you more times than hours ive spent in skyrim chucking everyones stuff about.

Imagine running around in circles of someone who is walking along with you to your destination! Or going up to random people having a conversation and just staring at them, tea bagging people who are laying on the ground, there are countless hilarious video games things that would get you locked up in real life or at least heavily pushed for therapy.
#5 is actually one of my biggest complaints about the formula of open world games. I find it difficult to stay on task with the story or care about where exactly Ciri has gotten off to or what exactly Scarecrow's plan is or whatever other main story line I'm supposed to be paying attention to and investing in when I'm off collecting all the Riddler trophies or Gwent cards or what have you. That stuff brings me out of the game some because characters are constantly telling me how the world is about to end while at the same time encouraging me to continue to rummage through inconsequential sidequests that seem like they would generally be suited to sorting out after the big earth shattering cataclysm is resolved.
What about skipping dialogue? "Hey dude, I played this really awesome game called" presses skip button "the mechanics are pretty cool an I must" presses skip button "well, bye" 5 minutes later "remember what I said earlier?" Says your friend "nope" says you "I was pressing the skip button on your dialogue" you are basically going "shhhhhhh" all the time because you can't be bothered to listen to people whilst progressing in your friendship.
The fact that you can do anything and get away with whatever you want is the reason video games are the greatest form of escapism. I'll never stop playing them.
Great video! I would add "Running Around the Area with a Heavily Armed Gang". Every RPG has a hero with a team of five to seven people, all armed to the teeth. These people can regularly defeat entire military units, monsters, and have two to three weapons per person. Imagine trying to walk into Denny's with you and your friends armed like Rambo. If your're doing this in America, don't attempt this unless you've lived a full life without regrets. Unlike Britain, all our bobbies have bullets.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is one of the few game series where it actually makes sense. Since there is no stable chain of supply, the traders are dependent on Stalkers coming by to drop off unneeded supplies or rare artifacts which can then be sold back to other Stalkers for a profit. Functional weapons (especially in Shadow of Chernobyl where gear cannot be repaired) and ammo, even food are luxury goods no one can afford to miss. Traders can afford making a loss on your person because they know there are more than enough desperate to pay a lot of money for bread that isn't rotten and/or radiated.
haha for the whole walking into peoples houses, KoToR 2 also makes a stab at it when you try to open a footlocker in one of the apartments in the beginning(ish), when you try to leave a guy comes up to you and is all like; "Why are you stealing my stuff?" It got a laugh outta me :)
Here in Texas just setting foot in some ones house uninvited is liable to get you shot let alone going through their stuff. love the video by the way, as entertaining as always.
Walking up to NPC's and listening to their conversation while standing right beside them just to hear a clue you need to solve an upcoming puzzle. Try that in the real world and see what happens.
