Just after finishing recording my car SFX library, my next goal was to record the sounds of a water dam in Balaclava. The sawmill there was the last water-powered mill to operate in the Province of Ontario. Now the town is almost completely abandoned and is considered a ghost town. Balaclava was listed in a book on "Ghost Towns" by Ron Brown.
As much as I would have loved to record the inner ambience of the abandoned buildings, they are privately owned and is usually kept a close watch. However, I did record the sounds of the water dam from different angles.
I hope you can use these SFX in your projects. The journey there was quite the scenic view!
