Such a fun and informative video, especially showcasing so many options. As a new journalist, I really appreciate seeing your options and organization. And no more guilt about how many notebooks I’ve collected in less than a year.
Happy to alleviate your guilt! 😝💜 I should have kept better info about when I got each one. Would be cool to see how many were collected in each year 👀
This sounds like how I collect yarn. I'll use it eventually, but it'll just take me ages because I've got so much. I'm still new to bullet journaling though, so I only have 3: a cheapy I got just to test things out for a few weeks to see if I'd even like doing bullet journals, and then 2 others one that I'm using now and one with slightly lighter paper (just so I had options).
Holy cow! Realizing I've been following you since the LT1917 days. It's been such a fantastic look at all of the journals. And thank you for validating my notebook collecting
Holy Journals! Thank you for sharing this. I got the vintage book subscription box(library vibes) and I immediately gave it to a friend of mine who sets up school libraries around the U.S. I love the bees and collect anything and everything bees.
I intentionally skipped the halloween ones because of the deckled edges even though i loved the cover too! Cant stand deckled edges. Absolute bane of the book world.
Thanks you for sharing this with us Jess. I have a huge collection too but they’re all persona diaries and creative writing journals. Sending my best your way.
Tannenbaum is the german name of the fir tree, a popular christmas tree. The picture isnt quite fitting though. Fir has no leaves😂. At least theres an ornament.
Wow, I realised I've been following you since your first A&O which seems so long ago. A great collection of notebooks Jess, I would kill for the raven one though :P I've just counted mine and I have 5 used and 18 unused ones so no notebook buying for me for a while.
I remember you using/getting so many of these notebooks, especially the first A&O one and how big a deal that was at the time! Fun to stroll down memory lane. Also, yes, 27 years isn’t enough; you should get more immediately! 😂
I thought I was going to be a LT1917 fan girl for all of my bullet journaling as well. A&O became my mainstay until they stopped making the 160 page A5 journals. Now I am back on the hunt to find my perfect notebook.
😂😂 the sun and moon making out. I have this one. It's the equinox, where the days and nights are balanced, occuring twice a year. I specifically chose this one (I'd had the vintage bee prior) as my son was born on spring equinox.
When you showed your first Archer and Olive, I was like, "Wait a minute..." That is my first Archer and Olive, too! :D And your second is my second, too, haha! After that, we differ, tho.
i’m realising i actually found you not too long after you’d started bullet journalling, which is surprising bc you were already so established - congrats on your growth! 🩷 also absolutely yes please to a massive flip through 🤩🤩
oh my god, I love the fort style thumbnail! nice to know it's all Vogels fault that you started collecting😂. my god though, I've just realised I've been watching you since your first a&o! I didn't subscribe right away (at the time I had a habit of subscribing to people after seeing one video, then never want hinge them again, but also not unsubscribing), but it's sure as hell been. long road! I need a new office tour!! I need to know where you are! if you dontnget the new heirloom notebook for it, you could use that velvet b5 for your wedding. have the front as a guest notes or whatever theyre called, then who gave what gifts, put some photos in it from the wedding, than out a photo in every year for your anniversary!
Glad you liked the thumbnail! Took a hot minute to set up and take 😝 haha Vogel’s only partially to blame for the collecting 😂 being on the A&O brand ambassadors team around the same time was a big help in boosting my collecting abilities 😝
It's an older video, so I make no promises about the quality 😛 But that one is here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7QwZ-be9qDI.html Note: I was also in a major journaling slump during that video, so that's why the layouts are a bit "strange" compared to my more regular setups nowadays 😊💜
I've not tried an ARL one before 🤔 But I've also heard they're the same as A&O in terms of the manufacturing, so I guess preference would be mainly based around the notebook features? 😊
Your health journal is the same one Im currently using as my reading journal :D And my next reading journal will be the full cover bee one. So just sticking to the same color and theme, basically 😂
I'm definitely using a square notebook next year, unfortunately the A&O purple with holographic (like your current everyday journal) is sold out, I'll have to wait for their new releases.
They’ve got square ones as part of the current release at least (came out last week) otherwise there’s the Halloween release to look forward to for next month 👌
Question about the neapolitan notebook. Did you use the notebook without regard to paper color, or did you use the paper color as "sections" for certain tasks? TIA
Very much a "I have this because it was given to me" notebook 😛 Don't get me wrong, I do like thinner paper for specific applications, they just aren't the ones my channel focuses on 😝
I've noticed you have A LOT of A&O notebooks. Why do you prefer them? As someone who's new into this kind of stuff, I'm just curious to hear your thoughts.
When it comes to notebook preferences, I like ones that have: - White-white paper, not ivory or cream - Dot grid with 5 mm spacing - Paper thick enough to not ghost or bleed with common water-based pens (160 gsm does well here) - Elastic closure to keep the notebook...closed 😛 While there are a decent number of companies that have notebooks which do that, I like A&O for their values around journaling for mental health (the founder, Bonnie, is bipolar and has generalised anxiety disorder) 🤙 Also very much helps that I've worked as a content creator with A&O so a lot of my notebooks from them have been discounted or gifted 😊 Other 160 gsm notebook brands that I like are Tiefossi and KUMA Stationery and Crafts though 👌 also good options
Hi Jess, could you please make a short video on how to use the "true travellers journal" type of notebook you show at 39:26? I have no idea what those are for:D
"I only have 7 of these in stock" Oh, my, word, I love you! I don''t feel so bad about my huge planner/notebook shelf, knowing you are a huge collection too he he. The collecting addiction is totally real. EDIT: I should have waited until the end to comment. ONLY 27 years.. you def need more... many many more!
I want to journal but got no supplies im not artsy and im too perfectionist, how do i start? Also i seen ones for reading and tv but... I need a fanfic one
UPDATE: my notebook just ripped at the spine lol, and there were a few sticky pages on it as well Just got a A&O fall collection notebook in A5. I have been using the LTBJ for the past year and thought I would try this one. Am I using it wrong or is the notebook a bit difficult to keep flat and use for the earlier half of the notebook? I find I have to prop my Bujo under the front cover to get an even writing plane, my Bujo ia able to lay flat even on the early pages because the spine can like fold on itself but the A&O can’t do that. Any tips?
Ooof! Sorry about your notebook 😔 make sure to hit up customer service! They’re always very helpful 👌 There are “proper” ways to break in a notebook to help the spine have more flexibility, but I do still often just prop-up the front cover with an eraser/washi roll/ another notebook when I first use the journal to get a flat playing field 💜
I love A&O's A5 dot grid notebooks. I wish they would come out with more silver designs (or blue foiling would be pretty as well). I'm just not a fan of gold foil/designs. I love your collection though.
@@JashiiCorrin I bought one recently for my 2025 bujo (it's still shipping), but I didn't even look at # of pages. Truly get your money's worth with these!
What a lovely collection! I have a really hard time throwing the notebook boxes away because they are usually so pretty. Do you do anything with yours? Or would you have any ideas to repurpose them? If anybody reading this comment has ideas too, please share! :)
I used to hoard the ever loving heck out of mine. Previously I kept my notebooks in their boxes to keep them safe, but it came to a point where I knew I was wasting a lot of shelf storage space with them all so I took them all out. Then I could see them which was nice but I also had all my boxes in a taller-than-me stack in my closet 😝 I ended up giving them all to a local kindergarten/early childhood center because they use them for arts and crafts. While I’m still very possessive of a nice box, I’ve come to realise that I don’t need the journal sized ones so much. I have a few as drawer dividers for my other stationery supplies, but that’s all 💪
I'm kind of afraid to count all of my journals😊😊😂 I really don't understand the mocking of the Leuchtturm journals in the journal community. I know it is just preference but I think the Leuchtturm Journals are quite sturdy, lightweight, holds a little bit of watercolor and is good for many things ❤ I use journals with thicker paper as well but my main bullet journal is still the Leuchtturm one, because I can fit one year in one journal 😍
Don't get me wrong, I think the LT1917s are great journals, just not for the way I typically like to use them. I think they've got a great colour range and they stand up well to being used over long periods of time, I just prefer thicker paper that doesn't ghost or bleed with the pen combinations and level of pen work I like to do 😊
@@JashiiCorrin that is a great take on this 🥰😍 I absolutely love thick paper as well but thin paper has some advantages as well. Everyone has different preferences and I also use different type of journals. It always matter what we plan to do in them and which one fits best for our needs 😊
For sure! The majority of them were gifted either as notebooks themselves or as vouchers to use at the stores in question 💜 feel very blessed for the opportunity!
@@JashiiCorrin I appreciate your response and honesty. For an A&O notebook it’s an average of $30-$40 for me. I did get some FOMO watching this but it’s just not financially intelligent for me to spend thousands on a collection. I have many notebooks so it’s all good. I’ll just admire your gorgeous rainbow
Ahhhhh, I can't believe I've been with you since your first journal. Such a long time. Such a change, too. Personally, I consider that many notebooks, especially unused, peak over consumerism, but if it makes you happy, I guess? Enjoyed the video, regardless, lmao.
Not so much. Notably I use a chunk of the notebooks as decoration/decor so they’re still serving a purpose in that respect 😊 good question though! I feel more guilty buying pens I don’t end up using 😝 their shelf life is typically shorter, so if I’m not using them, there’s a greater chance that they “go off” (won’t work when I come to use them)
