For the next grow, I will be trying the system with lettuce, I think that may be ideal for this. First part of the video is from the 27th March 2023, and the second part is 2 months later.

Thank you mate. Will be doing a proper garden update next week! You can see how the others are getting on. The weather has been scorching the last few weeks. Which presents its own challenges! But I have seen some decent growth.

Pretty cool :-) I do look forward to doing Hydroponics at some point in the future. I need to move into my own house though because I live in a small house with roommates so I only have my bedroom to work with so I only have so much room. Everything is looking really nice though :-)

I am growing your Malawian piquante. The leaves are massive. Is that normal? Like the new system. Maybe this winter I'll try an ebb and flow. Just kratky for now.

Yep, they do have some massive leaves. Especially early on.

Hi Sean. Hope you are well. Considering this Letpot system for next year. Do you think I could use this for initial grow and then pot on into soil substrate? Or, will this shock the root/plants too much?

Hi Jim, you can use this with soil or hydro. But even if you use it as a hydro system, you can transplant to soil without issue. If you get the pH wrong or temperatures....then it will set the plant back a bit but it will recover. --Shaun

Is 40c too hot for peppers? How do you manage the greenhouse when it gets too hot? I'm finding my greenhouse can easily reach 40c these days and I'm trying to keep it cooled off a bit. Am I wasting my time?

The chillies will do fine in that temperature....you need to make sure you have good ventilation. My greenhouses often reach 40'C. Occasionally up past 50'C! It's important the plants are properly established before being exposed to those sorts of temperatures.

I’m thinking of next years growing season already as this years wasn’t massively successful. is there any advantages for growing chillies in hydroponics compared to conventional growing in the UK?

There are pros and cons. Hydro can give impressive results...but needs a lot more care and attention.
