This 60 Minutes forum hosted by Jana Wendt discussed whether the media's pursuit of ratings and sensationalism, often at the expense of people's lives and careers, is really in the public interest. Prominent journalists, politicians and media owners of the time, as well as those directly affected by the coverage, debate these issues. The forum was the inspiration for Australian comedy team Working Dog's current affairs satire, Frontline (aka "Breaking News" in the US). Thanks to Martman for the tape. Please be aware that due to the tape quality, the first ten minutes has some parts with missing video and the video is not the best quality either. Includes ads.
