Great video. One quick correction though: Honolulu is actually the southernmost capital city in the US. However, Austin is the southernmost capital in the continental US, and Tallahassee, Florida's capital, is not very far behind.
Austin is quickly growing it's homeless population, and doesn't feel like the city is doing much to help people recover 😢 reminds me a lot of San Francisco
@@tsunami870 If they were doing that, they would have never done all of the pro-housing policies the city council overwhelmingly approved just months ago. Getting rid of parking mandates, reducing lot size requirements (from 5,750sqft to 2,500), allowing people to build more units per lot by right (3), removing/reducing height limits on buildings 500-600ft away from single family housing to 100ft or less, and removing the huge bureaucratic development plans that could take a year to get buildings approved for construction, reducing the time to a month or two. The reason why housing costs so much there is because of those housing and zoning restrictions that politicians refuse to get rid of. In Austin they’re removing housing restrictions.
I live in Houston I’m twelve and can’t wait to grow up so I can move to a more rural area in Texas If there will be some left I’m scared I love to go to Galveston at the end of summer cause when we go we go to my dads stepdads lake house and Kurs always a good time

it’s close but at ~30.2N it is just south of Baton Rouge at and Tallahassee at 30.4 latitude though the 1-10 corridor passes through the latter 2 capitol cities and south of Austin
Love Austin. Like a home away from home. As someone who lives in Louisiana it’s a nice place to take a trip to and see a completely different way of life.

Whats so bad about Austin? I visited for about a day from Houston and the people were friendly. The downtown area seemed urbanish and walkable, it seems like it gets fun on weekends. Its nice compared to Houston which has neither the friendliness or the urbanism

It's really funny. The city simply cannot handle this many people. The people that are there are fishes out of water. Everyone hates it. And yet the bigger, more robust, more texan cities surrounding it are not the ones that are capitol.

the price of my home went up double the price and my family is getting taxed out of the house thank you for whoever moved here and added to the property taxes going up its really good to move to an area with low property tax just to make it sky rocket

As someone from San Antonio, it’s insane to see all the development happing in Austin. I only get to drive through there only once or twice a year, but every time I do their is always like 2 new high rises.
None of these were “destroyed” by democrats, it’s not like republicans will improve the conditions in those cities. Like San Francisco, republicans are definitely not gonna make housing prices better.

Do Bangkok Thailand. You won't believe how many people actually live here. They only count legal citizens but there are close to the same amount of people that come here to work.
