I hope he means power delivery. An inline four R6 delivers it's power and torque in almost the same spots throughout the rev range as an inline four R1, however with the R1 there is just more power and torque in those same spots. If that makes sense.

I have a kx500 and I’m not afraid of it at all. I really want to get a motorcycle because I got my license back in April. I want to get a zx10r. I feel like my dirt bike actually probably accelerates close to as fast as a 600. My dad use to have a zx10r and a zx6r. He says it’s probably close to the zx6r acceleration wise like 20-100.
@liveresin9000
@liveresin9000 4 года назад
Nick Edwards hell yea Tbh the kx500 is more scary than a real bike. The powerband on 2 strokes are crazy compared to a real bike. Like yea it’s not gonna accelerate as fast but u obv have throttle control to be riding that so you should be good on a 1000. At 16 I had 3 bikes. Gsxr750 cbr1000 and cbr1100

I would have to disagree. 1. I started on a 600. 2010 Yamaha R6 was my first bike. It's been a delight. Though it is true that I am a speed junkie, I have been responsible in my preparations towards becoming a Supersport rider. About a year before i bought a bike I watched many youtube videos on "HOW TOO"s and "TIPS". Watching so many people helped make up my mind on exactly what i wanted. There were so many people saying different things. So, i came up with my own conclusion. Its all about your mindset. If you want to prepare and be able to take on the responsibility of a 600 or 1000 then you have to start wayy before you even buy one. But knowing what you want first and preparing for it is much smarter than going out and getting something thats too "much" for you. don't be dumb. Make smart decisions. go full throttle when there's little to no traffic. remember, you aren't the only one on the road all the time.

^^^ R6 the size just refers to the displacement (ie size) of the engine-600cc. The 600 cc class is produced by most of the main manufacturerers. The gzxr 600, the R6, the cbr-600, and the Ninja 600 all fall into the category. Those bikes all come in 1000cc variants as well, which would be larger, heavier, and more powerful than their 600cc counterparts

I think the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 (Z1000sx) is a contender for the 300/400/650 starters if they want 600-1000 level performance with an upright riding position and a tune that is more gentle to people with less skill but will open up their performance ceilings tremendously. Great video man, keep em coming!

I think 600’s are ok to start off. But 1,000cc oh hell no. Even experienced riders who race on the track still put their 100% effort and skill when riding 1,000cc bike. I cant imagine a complete noob on a 1,000. Just my opinion. Good luck and Ride safe all!!

@@assbutt2931 Are you planning to do track days? Because unless you have no fear or losing your license or your life then it is imo very hard to have fun on a liter bike on public roads unless you just want to do top speed runs in the desert. You can use more of a 600 on the road, I find that more fun. I owned a CBR1000RR for a bit at no point could I redline that bike near where I live ever. I found my old ninja 636 to be much more fun on the road but even that was quite a lot.

How to put this in riders' head?? I keep saying it. Either you drive a 60hp bike or a 200hp. It's all about throttle control!!! Love the way you explained it. Going to use it in other videos as well. Thanks for your honest non pretentious opinion. Too many people give you the numbers and then presume to know that these bikes are obsolete for the street. The reality is there is huge variation in people's preferences and the only way to decide is, like you say, get on the damn bike and ride it.

I had an ‘06 gsxr600 and recently got an ‘06 gsxr1000... The 1000 has noticeably more midrange yet doesn’t feel as light through corners. I don’t have a preference since each bike requires different riding styles. I enjoy the 600 in the streets. The 1000 feels better on long highway rides since rpm’s sit lower and bike feels less vibrant. The 600 felt a lot safer for sure altogether.

idk. a sportbikes power is way high in the rev range , therefore if Ur carefull with the throttle i think u can start on a 600. i personnally am on a gsxr 750 as my first bike.(im 17) But i had ridden a 450 rmz for 2 years before. The 450 was more punishing if u fked up just cause the power was all down low.

I get the track point that you made, my local track is Cadwell Park (Plenty of videos on here) and it is a tight and twisty circuit, I have only done a couple of track days in the novice group but the bike I had then was a STR (Street Triple R) and it was right on the tail of 1000cc bikes and had enough punch out of corners to keep them in sight on the short straights combined with the nimble handling to reel them in through the corners.... My MT-10 needs to go there and see what it can do.

So the lack of low end torque isn't an issue in commuter traffic? I love the new R6 and want one badly. Just afraid that I will be disappointed. Almost half my commute is in the canyon. We do not get to ride very far on test rides here

how is the new r6 comfort wise compared to the old one? I know it isn't going to be touring comfortable or anything like that but I read that seating is night and day compared to previous r6. How far do you think you can ride comfortable or somewhat comfortable?

Mr. V it's a little less agressive position (tiny bit) but it's about the same. Also i noticed my ass gets sore quicker on this new seat since it's shaved down.

Motonosity, I like the last statement...."I like the R-..." cliff hanger. Both good bikes. I would like them for different reasons too. My R6 gets me all giddy too, no Monster drinks needed. Good job on the video.

I started on a cbr 900. Been riding for 15 years. I can't decide on a new r1 or r6. I'm 5ft 7inches so I'd have to get the seat lowered on the r1. Also the price difference.. idk I can't decide.

got a 2012 honda CBR 600rr 3 weeks ago for my first bike, never rode one before ever, and im taking to it pretty easily and comfortably and no i never drove a standard transmission ever. in 2 weeks i put 700 miles on it so now the bike has 1300 miles on it in total, and idk, it didnt seem all that challenging to me atleast, took 2 days to learn how to shift and when to shift up and down my street, before i got my permit and plates. idk i tend to take to things really well and im a very fast learner so i may be an exception. but its the red and white special edition CBR with the white rims and omg its so beautiful! haha

So the term Liter and CC, is that how much milk the engine will hold? By the way, you're wrong Motonosity. You can start off on a 600 or 1000, I started on the Enterprise.

I was taught to ride on my buddies GSXR 1000, learned to street ride as I'll call it on a 600 then bought a old Honda CBR929RR. But still rode with both of those two buddies on my bike to practice until I was good by myself. And we'll until the until with the 1000 deployed and I moved away from the busy with the 600. Moved away meaning moved to a different state.

Am I crazy or is an R6 the same dry weight as an R1? Reading the Wiki they both average around 390 lbs, dry.

I gotta ask because it never gets mentioned as far as i know. I understand that starting on a 600cc may be too much but is turning the power output down to like "C-Mode" an option? Is that a good idea if you want to start on a 600?
@Unrelentingd2
@Unrelentingd2 7 лет назад
Sinatrez i'm a fairly new rider and recently bought the 2017 yamaha r6 and ride it in b mode/tcs level 6 and it feels like a 300cc bike lol it tones it down 35-40% id say definitely doable
