The weekend of the 22nd & 23rd of April 2017 saw the Peterborough based Nene Valley Railway hold a gala weekend named "Best of British" of which the star guest was the A1 Steam Locomotive Trusts 60163 'Tornado', having clocked up 100mph during a proving run for future runs at 90mph a few days ago these would be her first public runs with a new worldwide celebrity status
Before the weekend the A1 moved with support coach from Doncaster Roberts Rd (her temporary stabling point during the high speed runs) to the NVR on Monday 17th April, seen arriving into Peterborough for a crew change, Longueville Jc coming off the Fletton Branch, Orton Mere for a few close ups whilst she was waiting for 34081 '92 Squadron' to clear the single line section from Wansford, then once again on the move at Yacht Club Crossing and Ferry Meadows Crossing.
Now onto the gala, filmed over the 2 days and having been turned on the turntable to face east 'Tornado' is seen hauling the trains between Wansford and Peterborough captured at the following locations;
-Castor Bridge
-Greenwheel Bridge (x2)
-Ferry Meadows
-Between Ferry Meadows & Yacht Club
-Yacht Club
-Longueville Jc
-Between Longueville Jc & Peterborough NV
-Opposite Longueville Bank
Also including the run run at Peterborough NV plus the tender first departure, arrival & departure from Ferry Meadows and finally the crossing
As per usual some of the lineside shots were filmed with safety high viability jackets, given permission and giving the correct hand sign to the whistle
