60532 ‘Blue Peter’ races up the ECML- Kings Cross to York, plus 46100 ‘Royal Scot’ 13/7/24 

LNER A2 pacific 60532 ‘Blue Peter’ working a private charter from London Kings Cross to York. Plus a bonus shot of LMS 46100 ‘Royal Scot’.
Following on from its recent overhaul and now fully painted and lined out, Peppercorn A2 pacific 60532 ‘Blue Peter’ would work a private charter from London Kings Cross to York. I started at West Ealing as 2 steam were booked to pass within 6 minutes of each other, 60532 on the ecs run from Southall to Kings Cross and 46100 on a Haywards Heath to Oxford excursion. I then moved to London Kings Cross to get a couple of stills of the A2 under the canopy. After Kings Cross a 200 mile game of leapfrog would commence as we would overtake the steam a few times. We would first get a shot at Finsbury Park, then a shot of it at speed through Stevenage and Grantham. Finally a shot at the locos birthplace, Doncaster. With the LNER services being late or cancelled it left a few of us wondering if it’d be late or rerouted. Thankfully it came through on the fast line as booked and making an incredible noise.
