We purchased a new property which has been extremely neglected. We were able to get in there and begin to clean it up a little bit. Still a long ways to go !

I’m glad you were able to get this property or at least hope it all works out! I kept looking for a broke down lawn mower to be back there grown over someplace! This will make you a nice home!

Believe it or not there was a brand new Husqvarna riding mower in the garage lol I think there is a broke down rider in the shed but we never even made it to the shed lol! Thanks for watching Ben.

Another Great video!! Congrats on the house, looks very nice. Those 2501’s are a beast, loving mine. Wish I had a heavier duty mower like yours. I bent my land pride one last week in one spot backing over some stuff. Easy fix but light duty.

Thanks Dallas! I really get the use out of the 2501. The brush bull has gone through some abuse and has been holding up great! Thanks for watching!

The L2501 appeared to handle that much better than I would have expected. You are a brave man going into a mess like that unsure of what is really under there. Congrats on the house.

Thank you, when we bought the 2501 we really were just looking for a smaller tractor to get some barn chores like raking arena, driveway maintaining, running generator but it has far exceeded my expectations.

I can certainly identify with what I am seeing here. My 2003 vintage B7500 w 4’ cutter is very adept at backing up into heavy brush. I would caution about keeping an eye on vines getting wrapped around PTO shafts. They will wander down onto the seals and force repairs. BTDT!

Have you ever used a 5ft tiller behind that tractor? just was curious im going to possibly buy that same tractor but a bit concerned if it would have enough PTO power to run a tiller? the dealer says yes 🤷‍♂️

I would be careful investing in a property you do not own. Until the closing they could back out and leave you with no way to recoup your investment of labor and fuel. I hope that does not happen, but you never can predict the future. Good luck Paul
@HillsideAcres
@HillsideAcres 3 года назад
The contract that my real estate attorney protects us from things like that. The seller just asked that a deposit be made before any work was performed inside of the house. To further protect them because at this point I’m the only one that can back out or legal action can be taken. Thanks Paul

Ok, I just got this tractor and have a 60” bush hog mower deck. I was worried about the back pasture thinking I may have to go slow as I cut. After watching this, all I can say is I am just waiting for the grass to grow. It won’t be long here in Mid TN…
@mattcaesar5781
@mattcaesar5781 Год назад
So how many hp is your tractor? Tractor data says its only 20hp pto i find that weird bc its a 1.6l and mine is a 1.3l that is 22hp to the pto
@HillsideAcres
@HillsideAcres Год назад
19 pto horsepower… displacement does not equal horsepower. 2501 is tuned down to make 25 engine hp to stay under epa regulations
@mattcaesar5781
@mattcaesar5781 Год назад
@@HillsideAcres yeah i know just seems weird to put that big of an engine for that much power. Makes sense with epa stuff, good thing is your gonna make a lot of tq with that compared to a smaller engine
@HillsideAcres
@HillsideAcres Год назад
@@mattcaesar5781 it also makes its peak hp at 2,000 rpm where it’s rated at and you can also crank it a little above that

Okay people. This is the type of job I have to do. Without cab, don't you almost always run into yellow jackets or bee nests? Is there some trick to avoid? I know mowing I've gotten assaulted by the pests and couldn't get out of the area fast enough. With a manual tranny, do you just throw it in fourth and hope to move away fast enough? Cabs are expensive, and don't really need except in extreme heat or cold. Please advise options, scenarios, ideas to keep from getting stung Tf up. Thanks, Roger
@HillsideAcres
@HillsideAcres 2 года назад
I actually rarely run into yellow jackets while mowing. If you know that they are there its best to exterminate them first or to wear some proper protective clothing, although a cab would be really nice! Bee spray is fairly cheap or even better fill the hole with gasoline at night and light it up!
@rogerdenney3663
@rogerdenney3663 2 года назад
@@HillsideAcres The scenario I suggested is when you DON'T know they are there, like buried in the overgrowth you were working on. I have used the gasoline and burnt the hole AFTER getting stung multiple times. Thanks for the feedback. Safe Tractoring to you.
@HillsideAcres
@HillsideAcres 2 года назад
@@rogerdenney3663 my best suggestion to wear some clothing to protect you, long sleeves and maybe look into a head net, my plan is to get off and run ! Lol

Cut all of that vegetation away from that house. I don’t know why people feel the need to plant so much crap around a house. Does nothing but cause issues down the road. Before we purchased our current house, the old man and woman that lived in it planted vines all around the place. Took me a month to get all that crap off the brick and pulled out for the soffit vents.
@HillsideAcres

I think it was mostly due to neglected maintenance. We plan to just start fresh. Time is currently an issue. Thanks for watching
