Thanks for the demo. I bought the nurge floor stand after you recommended them in a live video. Somehow I hadn't been able to figure out how to make it shorter to use as a table top stand. After watching you I realised that my daughter had just turned the knobs so tight when she assembled it for me that I was assuming they were fixed in position! Brilliantly versatile now.
I live in Canada and ordered and received my Nurge lap stand in less than two weeks. I am so thrilled over the quality of workmanship and how it works in my recliner. I could not have asked for anything better. I also thank you for the excellent presentation in your video of this product. Look forward to more informative information in future videos.
I bought both. You sold me. Thank you so much. I received the sit on stand today. I love it. This is my first stand. I have to wait for the floor stand to be sent. Thank you for the tube and great information.
Hi Karen. I found your video when I was searching for reviews on Nurge stands. Thank you for the detailed review; it was very helpful. I have purchased the small Nurge model. Have subscribed and am now slowly enjoying other videos on your channel as I stitch. Best regards, Veena
I purchased this seat stand based on this review. It is everything she said it is and I am very happy with it. I also bought the Nurge embroidery hoops as well as I have to say that they are the best. I will not go back to round hoops ever. These hoops hold the work taught and keeps it that way.
Great to hear! thanks for sharing. I also just bought the square Nurge hoop and they are awesome. using it for the first time today. like the fact that they are so much lighter. thanks again
The nurge stand works with any brand of hoop though doesn't it? I've been doing some research and this video was extremely compelling. Love how they fold up so small too. Just... The price is ouch. Especially compared to 2 years ago.
You know I just learnt about the nudge hoops with tightening screws, and they look great. But I wonder if you can just tighten the normal ones with pliers or multigrips?
Beverley Gardam here is one that may be less shipping for you. In NZ broomfieldsco.vendecommerce.com/all-accessories/products/adjustable-seated-embroidery-stand
Love the video,im a hoop user,so going to check out this stand. Have you ever tried the Q snaps before and if you have, what didn't you like about them or liked about them. Dont want to try them if they're not as good as my hoops, lol. I will take your word for it. And would you still prefer your hoop for large projects like full coverage and HAED patterns etc. Here I am with all these questions again...I promise I'm going to run out of questions. Your the 1st person I've found im comfortable with to ask my questions. I don't know a single person that cross stitches so cant ask them. Ive stitched for 40 years but just getting back into it and all this new technology and techniques....very exciting
Thankyou just brought the floor one and wondered if I did the correct purchase, great I did!🌈Just one thing you cant swing the embroidery frame over to end your threads how do you do it please??
Thanks for this video about the Nurge lap stand. I just bought it and found it can easily be used as a table stand as well. My question is, I’m not finding an easy way to get to the back of my hoop to end a thread. Do I need to take my hoop off every time? Thanks for your help.
sorry for the delay in answering. no you do not need to take the hoop off.. you tilt yjr hoop up and away from you. have not used mine in quite a while you may need to loosen the pin on the plastic head the hold the hoop do that you can tilt it up.
i love how you explain this stand. i was looking to buy it and was looking for revieuws. this helped me so much. i only have 1 question, does the stand work with the plastic nurge square frames?
I ordered the Nurge stand and 6” hoop from Amazon. I did not see the smaller stand, but the larger stand was $94 with free shipping. I don’t think you need to be a prime member to get that deal. I can’t wait to try it. I have been using the Rolaframe products, but can’t find a stand. I’m wondering if your Lowery stand would hold the scrolls. Thanks for the info.
Crafty Librarian with a lowrey stand it depends on the size and weight of the scroll. I had quantum frames and never had much luck ni matter what i tried. Check Vonna - the Twisted Stitcher she just posted a placed that has rolaframe stands in stock but i cant rember the name of the shop. I think her post was on instagram
Thank you for your video. I am wondering if you are still as pleased with the stand after using it for a year and what size nurge hoop do you prefer for cross stitch on this stand?
I bought one from amazon Australia, the larger one and a 7 inch hoop all up $127.00 Australia, and free delivery ,l am one happy person ,as l need my shoulder replaced ,which l am not going to do ,and l have been using a q snap which is really hurting my shoulder and arthritic hand ,so this is going to be much more comfortable for me ,this is why l love utube and lovely people that are willing to share if only my brain could count stitches and not lose my place ,l have only ever done one crossstitch but l am slowly getting the hang of it ,and l just have to do complicated full patterns don’t l ,oh well that’s life .🥰
Hi Karen , I love the new loop start you showed on the last episode. It also works when using 2 threads which is even easier than the pin stitch.. Now to my question about the Nurge seat stand. Is it possible to change out the head to put the holder for a quantum frame or q-snap on it?
Crafty Anne gee i have not tried that but i guess you could if you adjusted all the angles to what works for you. The only thing is the table stand has tiny things on the bottom to protect your table so it may not be as comfortable as the seat stand. I really love my seat stand. Use it all the time. I am thinking the table stand may have too many angles to adjust to use as a sit on stand. If i could only get one i would get the seat stand cause by adding a little weight you can use it on the table
The opening is just shy of 3/4 of an inch. However you need to take into account the screw at the top that holds the hoop in place. I can say for sure a qsnap will not fit in the opening. Hth.
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Here is the link you requested. www.etsy.com/listing/687557652/nurge-adjustable-seat-embroidery-stand?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=nurge+cross+stitch+stand&ref=sr_gallery-1-1&organic_search_click=1&bes=1
Hi Karen ,l have received my nurge floor stand ,does your hoop has some play in it that moves just a little from side to side ,l just thought it wouldn’t move .
If you have a chance please show how you do it. I am starting to stitch a huge HAED and that will be a lot of folded fabric. Maybe your way of gathering fabric is a lot better then mine! 😀Thank you so so much! I am learning so much from you. 🌷🌷🌷
LEAH Mcginley the table stand was about $70 on Etsy. On Amazon it is $90 something.. worth every penny in my opinion. Yes I will be selling my Hardwick Manor Fanny Frame. Not sure yet about the Lowery. I had also ordered the Hardwick Manor table stand and extra hoops (ordered before I discovered the Nurge stands). Will be picking that up this weekend when I go to the Stitchery Row Retreat. I will be selling that also.
In all honesty i am not sure. I have only used hoops. And they state for hoops. However i did see a pic of someone who used a scroll frame. Just not sure if it was a rollaframe. If the scroll rod is thin enough my guess is it may work. But i really do not know the answer
Hi Karen. Thanks for this video. I never heard of this brand. I am currently working on my first HAED (storykeep so it’s small) and am using qsnaps. I never thought of using an embroidery hoop to cross stitch. But I am fairly new so have a lot to learn. Would you recommend using an embroidery hoop to cross stitch? Is there any cons in using a hoop versus qsnaps or even scroll frames? I find that I can’t really get my fabric tight in a scroll frame. It keeps on loosening up Thank you and looking forward to your reply as I am thinking of purchasing the hoops and maybe even a stand.
Hi Florence. personally I prefer the Nurge hoops. I can get my fabric drum tight and it stays tight. check my video on how to load your. hoop. also I do not worry about crushed stitches. when you are finished and was your project all those stitches puff right back up.
