Hi everyone, today I am doing a silhouette swipe of a woman on a purple background!
Follow along,
This project was a little different from my usual ones, so I was super thrilled to get started!!
To begin, I printed off a lovely design of a woman, and then used tracing paper to duplicate the design. The color palette I used was predominantly purple, with one shade of metallic pink!💜
I definitely liked the final result of the silhouette swipe! If you are looking for a new hobby, you should definitely check this out!

My purple loving soul is in heaven with this one lol, it is gorgeous! The metallic pink was a great color to break up the purple a bit and the metallic sheen is awesome. I would love to see how a Lion silhouette would work. 💜

Very pretty.👍👍😊 I saw someone who sealed the edge of the contact paper with a thin coat of sealer. Let it dry before beginning the swipe. Hope this helps.

That helps a lot! I have also found that stencil vinyl works a whole lot better than contact paper. You also need to burnish the edges. Using transfer tape put it down gives you a better seal as well.

I use pouring medium and just a little bit of water. This pouring medium is floetrol.

Yes you can swipe without silicone but you may not get as many cells.

I have a lot less bleeding under the contact paper if I put 2 or 3 coats of paint along the edge. I've done 2 mermaids, surfer girl, 3 woman, 3 horses and cat in tree with full moon, and Winnie the pooh. Some are time consuming but when you finish and resin. Holly Molly they're amazing. My one other advice is watch the hair line on the forehead. This is a gorgeous piece and fantastic colors. Your 1st one came out a lot better then my 1st one. I want to try a 🐉 A koi fish would be cool. So much to choose from. Can't wait to see your next one.

Any home improvement store should have some kind of contact paper.

Pretty. Try frisket paper next time. Not as tough on the canvas as contact paper. Thanks for sharing.

What if you used peel and stick wallpaper instead? Vinyl is a lot more sticky and might be better for edges. 🤔

I bought it a long time ago but I think I got it from amazon. Craft stores should have something too that you can use.

It is clear contact paper, had a sticky side to adhere to the surface.

Just found your channel and subbed. A B Creative puts a layer of white in the seam of the transfer to keep the color going under. This is just beautiful. I love the purples with a dash of pink. Turned out lovely 😍

Beautiful result! The contact paper is intimidating as it is so harsh when peeling it off. But your touch-ups recovered all very nicely.

Absolutely beautiful and the recovery was excellent. I think I've seen people pull off the stencil when it is just a little wet still and it won't pop off so hard. AB Creative has a few examples.

I did my first one without using a stick-on stencil and I think I'm going to continue that method. I just painted a dark blue/green over half the canvas and then sketched the outline of the face profile with a fine white gel pen and then brush painted over any remaining blue/green in two sessions. It's more labor perhaps and takes more time but no stencil to worry about. I think next time I could make it a bit easier also by lightly marking my profile on the canvas and then painting my dark blue/green right up to that so there's less to cover with white. I have to admit I said I'd never do another one but now it's possibly my favorite art piece I've done in a long time. Love the colors in this one, very cool.

Once you lay your stencil, brush on a thin layer of pouring medium and let it dry, you won’t end up with seeping

About 2 parts floetrol to 1 part paint and then I slowly add water until it is the consistency that I want for swiping.
