Running a railtour for ‘Steam Dreams’, was one of two surviving LNER Class B1 locomotives, 61306 Mayflower. Mayflower was given the task of taking charge of a rather unique excursion to Bath and Bristol from Horsham in West Sussex.
I say unique as the route used was a rather rare one to see steam operate. Mayflower would start the excursion at Horsham before running down the West Coast Mainline towards Chichester, before travelling via Havant to Eastleigh before eventually arriving at its destination at Bristol.
However, the trip wasn’t without problems as an engineering works had taken place at Wimbledon, blocking the planned route meaning the entire train had been delayed by two or so hours to everyone’s dismay but we managed in the end.
‘Mayflower’ would only be hauling the train to Bristol as it had been acquired for the WSR for thier upcoming spring gala. Class 47 ‘Roger Hosking’ would haul the train back in the late evening.

Great capture. Sorry that you had to wake up so early only for it to be delayed by 2 hours. You did get some very good whistles to make it up :)
