LNER B1 Thompson 61306 'Mayflower' is seen running late through Cwmbran on the Saphos Trains steam charter 'The Welsh Marches Express', which was heading from Paignton to Shrewsbury. A LSL Class 47 is seen providing additional power on the back of the train.
Rather than film on the station platform like I always do, I decided to try and film the railtour from on top of the road bridge just opposite the station, and from the looks of the video footage that was filmed, I say it came out very well indeed, especially since 'Mayflower' sounded off her whistle before disappearing under the bridge.
Filmed by Thomas Coombes on Tuesday 25th June, 2024
