Spent many holidays there in the 50s& 60s.As a child spent many hours on the bridge watching trains go by,what a wonderful childhood i had there, when t back three years ago sadly wont be going back.
Great to see my favourite spot and good shots of a surviving Brunel bridge, nice original positioning, all conveying the atmosphere of the Langstone area!
We were there exactly 4 weeks ago today. Lovely weather then. Got on the train in the little loop at Dawlish Warren to go back to Teignmouth, where we were staying. Sea was a lot calmer!
Nice filming but Dawlish has lost so much of its charm. All concrete and high railings now. Worst of all, the modern trains have about as much appeal as a Metro line.
But thank goodness for the concrete and high railings - it's now a lot safer to be there in the bad weather; far less likelihood of the line being swept away, and less chance of flooding the coaches as you open the doors...
