Between Aaron Judge hitting 62 HRs and Albert Pujols hitting 700+ HRs, this is season is definitely one for the books. I can’t wait until the postseason 😆🔥

The things that have happened during the 2022 MLB season is simply incredible. -Miggy getting hit 3K -Pujols hitting 700 -Judge hitting 62 -Shohei doing things we’ve practically never seen before. -Mariners/Phillies ending playoff droughts -Dodgers winning 110+ games -Trout basically hitting 40 Homers while missing 40 games. WHAT. A. SEASON!

The issue with this "record" (Honestly, who cares about the "most American League HRs"? This isn't 1922) is that anyone older than Generation Z, who hasn't been living under a shell, remembers how Bonds, McGwire, and Sosa easily beat out Judge's "record", and Bonds was walked or pitched around so many times when he hit 73. The Rangers pitcher looked like he was trying to give up a HR, throwing a hanger right down the middle. Sorry, but there are too many problems with this "record". The Rangers didn't have the option to IBB Judge for his next 8 or 9 at-bats. I'm positive that the MLB threatened them not to do so.

Every pitcher doesn't "throw 100", and most of Judge's HRs came against weak pitchers like the one on the mound tonight. He has been regularly getting overpowered by the ones who actually throw high 90s and above. You're trying to make this accomplishment out to be something that it's not. I don't respect that MLB is trying to give it greater importance than it deserves to drive up revenue (it's 2022 - only MLB records matter, not league records). He got nowhere nears Bonds with far more opportunities (e.g., fewer bases on balls), and he got a beachball to hit for #62. The Rangers' pitcher was definitely looking to give up the HR. Did the Rangers have the option to intentionally walk him for the next 8 or 9 ABs? Nope. The MLB probably threatened the manager with his job and/or made it clear that he'd be blackballed from baseball if he did that.
