At this stage I would have thought the cost would have been double that. It appears that you can have a very well built and reliable engine built by someone who knows what their doing with out going broke.
Please wear latex gloves. Petroleum based liquids can and do go through human skin and can cause all sorts of health issues, including liver and kidney. What you do is a form of art. God Bless you.
Mark, Dee Dee has a valid point. Petroleum is a carcinogenic, enters your body through your cuticles and may cause cancer. We need people like you around for a long time to teach and get younger viewers interested in the industry. Great job Bro!
He is also showing signs of heavy metal poisoning. No im not a doctor but I have seen it before. Notice how he knocks thing around and has a hard time moving smoothly?
cutting and honing oils also most often contain sulfur which is also not very good to be getting into your blood stream. Along with the solvents that go along with these fluids it is a good idea to wear gloves while using any chemical solution.
Hi Mark, can you be more specific about when you find a taper? Do the high edges go to the inside or outside when honing? BTW, thanks for this great video series.
This one is the LBB-16XX series and is normally between $3k to $5k used for a good to excellent condition one. You can find the MBB (looks the same) a lot cheaper but its not made for automotive use. I think the RPM range is different and its not set up for connecting rods.
I'm at the 3:39 mark and have my first time saving suggestion. When I was building engines, a large portion of my work was Big and small block chevs. I had one of each rod sized to low side for quick setup sitting at the machine.
