Brief correction I didn't feel like going back and editing to fix: I say there are a total of 670 rare candies to be earned. There are, as you will see, actually 678
I unfortunately was unable to Rick Roll you this time as I neglected to get far enough in the game to mass hatch Piplups. But the next time you do something like this, I’ll be sure to get you.
14:03 Recipient of Matt (Absol) the shiny absol here, I was at the stream at the time but don't remember what I traded out. I promise he has been fed, watered and ended up in my ingame team in Shining Pearl (and has long since become a champion) ✌
Hey Matt. I wanted to say thanks to you. I was the guy who sent that shiny Jynx and that Umbreon. I had a ton of fun tuning in and trying to get you my pokemon and get some of yours. I got two Absol from you, I have them in Home. Thanks for the amazing content, can't wait for the Scarlet/Violet WTG!
33:22 One hundred percent. The pinnacle of knowledge for knowing every Pokemon cry. Very few people ever reach this level. This is a video where I push my knowledge of Pokemon cries to 100%, which is an unconventional thing to try in this environment. Because more or less, I'm crazy. This is the 100% gauntlet. I hope you enjoy
I'm super glad to have been able to help with the spreadsheeting, even if I had some irl events happen that caused me to take a break. As the hatcher of big guy the wooper, I am incredibly proud of my big guy. I can't thank you enough for all of the awesome content you put out. It has helped me through some really tough times.
The walking to burger king bit and the charity livestream stuff was really really cool. Love that this wondertrade idea has turned into a sort of series. Really good stuff. Love community events!
If I had to guess, the Surprise Trades are called like that, because you can Wonder Trade while doing normal gameplay. Any other Wonder Trades from other games locks you in a menu or location.
Oh man, talking about Pokemon cries really brought me back. One time I was on the phone with a friend when Gold and Silver had just released. I could hear his game and I kept telling him what he encountered and he started getting freaked out and asked if I was at his window or something. Ah, good times.
If Grovyle was the last Pokemon instead of Forretress, I would have made a joke that it came from the future (Shout out to all Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers fans)
these videos make my heart swell . watching you fills me with the same passion that i had nearly 9 years ago , playing pokémon x for the first time . thank you , absol , from the bottom of my heart . 💙
Just wanted to say I love the positive energy you bring to your videos that still feels genuine and not some put-upon act I'm always happy to see your new uploads 💕
I have never watched this youtuber before and I'm generally not a huge fan of gaming streams, challenges etc. But I gotta say, this was super wholesome and pleasant to watch! He seems super genuine in his enjoyment of these games (and his community) in a way I don't really understand but admire from afar. I'm surprised to say - I'll absolutely stick around! =)
I feel like that whole “guessing where a sibling is in pokemon based off cries” has a sort of nostalgic feeling as well as a wholesome feeling. You don’t even know they like it, but one day you can hear them playing the start of the game and over time, you gradually hear them progress. You don’t need to have awkward conversations about pokemon, but you have that silent understanding that they like it enough to get further into the game
Matt I feel like you are Nintendo’s ideal Pokémon player; community, adventure and so much time dedicated! Always love the videos and great work on this one!!
Had a long tough day at work, a 45 minute video in which Absol sings The Proclaimers is just what I needed tonight, haha. This journey was so fun to follow live, and watching this vid brings back some great memories of these past few months. Thanks for all that you do.
It's videos like these that always make me come back to the channel. Informative and a genuinely passionate community working together in a harmonious way. It also shows how these games keep on living on far past its competition remaining timeless because, the ones you catch can always be shared with a friend you know or a complete stranger in need for a new friend. The editing of the vlogs themselves remains the most pristine I've seen out there. Never too chaotic and all kinds of both fun and memes striking the right balance. Love your videos, I hope you are well.
I know that matt doesn't upload as often as we would like but it's always a special surprise when he does these type of challanges loved every moment of it thanks matt
I had just finished watching an older one of these and I'm so happy this was just released, man I missed watching your content, it's good to be back, such a cool concept man
Words cannot describe my excitement at hearing Testament of a Hero start playing when you started Wonder Trading. Monster Hunter is such a good franchise and that song is so nostalgic😮💨
i'm a huge fan of these longform videos, your efforts alongside your community as a whole really shine more and more every day! thank u for these videos dude
I love this delightful series! I know it's time consuming but it's a fun challenge. I also really like seeing all of the nature shots in the transitional scenes.
I have already memorized all pokemon and their pokedex numbers (though I’m sloppy with alola and galar), I have now been inspired to learn their cries now too
This is the first video of yours I've seen and I loved it! you really weave a great story into your videos, something I strive to be able to do some day. I'll definitely be watching more of your stuff
You put so much thought and effort into this channel, It is unlike any other channel I've ever watched. It feels like we are friends when I watch your videos
So happy it's finally here! It has been a long wait but it's worth it. The first WT gauntlet may be my favorite Pokemon RU-vid video of all time, so I'm excited to sit down and watch this one! Thank you for all the good content.
This was a super fun one to watch, and I quite enjoyed the song parody! I can tell you put alot of work into it (also wow its surreal to see a scene that I filmed on your screen 😅)
You are the first person I have seen with a Love plus dsi, that isn’t me. Of the 9 released I own 7, they’re so weird and I love them. Glad to see someone else with one
I’m actually digging your burger king parody 🤣 I still remember the last burger king trip too. Your videos are just something else and I love it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 PS I hope you’ll have a lovely Christmas time and that the universe will treat you nicely next year 💜
38:44 This Is such an underated/underused music for videos or just in general. Al the Celeste b-sides slap so hard! Also as always great vid, I realy apreceate your work!!! (sory if there is gramatical errors)
This Video was fatastic i wasnt in to many of the wonder trade streams but god i loved everything around it, thank you for the fun streams and amazing videos absol !
First time watching your channel, loved this ride. It was full of laughs and sorrows, twists and turns. I especially liked the part where you got completely caught up in memorizing Pokemon cries because I did the same thing too as a child with Gen 1! Though, it was a lot easier back then because it was just like 40 cries pitch shifted up and down lol Congrats and great work on the video! It was thoroughly entertaining and fun and I'm going to subscribe because of it. Cheers!
It’s so weird seeing you on the college campus I attended only 8 months ago. I now wish I kept an eye out for you while I was there! Maybe this’ll be an incentive for me to go back to college lolol
A sequel to my favorite video that you've made. Another great video. Keep up the good work. :D Also, I wonder if you or anyone else will try to do this challenge with the wonder box.
17:40 - this was genuinely a nice song to practice my Emajor chords to (since obligatory guitar comment). First time watching one of your WT Gauntlets, cool stuff!
9:10 even though it's wasn't too unlikely to happen I'm so happy to see my own pokemon in the video (clird) ! I managed to get a whole 4 absol's of yours from this, doing this was honestly so much cooler than any pokemon event I've ever participated in!
