Episode 9 of my SOBO thru hike of the Pacific Crest Trail takes me across 63 miles over 5 days. I share my detailed resupply strategy and take you with me throughout the process of sending out all my packages for the Northern California section of the PCT. I set out on my final miles in Oregon and reach the Oregon/California border. Such an amazing moment!
So many of you have been asking me what I get up to in town on a zero day and I'm super excited to share that with you in this video. I'm also excited to introduce you to Daryl, one of the many amazing Trail Angels who support us PCT thru hikers!
Can you believe I'm now done both the Washington and Oregon sections of the PCT? It's hard to believe! It feels amazing to be setting out on my final state of the trail!

I am absolutely loving your journey. Thank You once again for bringing us along on it. I’m surprised you don’t consider yourself ultralight. Your kit certainly looks great to me! I want to buy the same tent and pack that you’re using, but I’m hoping Dan creates a bigger pack for some of the larger carries. Your pack is looking full!

The California PCT -- the longest state trail segment in the entire United States National Scenic Trail System -- it is longer than some other National Scenic Trails in their entirety. Although I live in Japan now, I was born and raised in Northern California, so I've been eagerly awaiting your upcoming episodes. Thank you for bringng us along.

It’s nice to see your logistics. I did a short section of the AT last year and I really had to plan out my route. Of course it didn’t go quite to plan so a plan B was in order. It was a pretty big part of my hike! Especially considering the time window I had.

Story, I am enjoying your videos. Very well done! I hiked the AT last year and plan to start the PCT SOBO in July. Trying to glean as much information as I can from your videos on the best places to resupply and of course where to go in to town for meals and motels,etc. I used FarOut for nearly all my information about towns, shuttles, etc. Is there another source you’d recommend for the PCT that is helpful? Thanks for the info. Big T.

Love watching your series. I'm recently retired (early) and got into backpacking with my son in scouts. Getting inspired by your journey. Question... did you ever get to the point where you packed your food down into baggies to save space in the can? I've done this and seen it done a lot... curious how necessary you found it.

Thanks for showing your resupply strategy. That’s one thing I’ve never done on my European hikes. Will have to learn it in preparation for the GDT. How many calories do pack for each day?

Very informative, thank you! Quick question: how do you resupply your fuel canisters? It seems like it might be hard to chase them down, if they even are available in some towns.
