Mark C - Hi 👋 Mark, Thank you so much. Ryan from Bickerstaffe did the blacking for us , he worked through an exceptionally hot weekend to get it done. Pat repainted the blue strip. The prop was a big shock but the new one has made all the difference ( Ryan fitted that too!) Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
mike hall - Yes Mike, except the marina owner didn’t want us to empty our grey water over the working area, so we used the marina shower and emptied bowls of washing up water in the canal! He also supplied electric hook up. Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
Up to now, I had thought your boat was brand new because it looked so good. It can't be very old all the same. This was another great video. I look forward to the next one.
colm one - 👋, Dunworkin is only 16 months old, so the bent prop was a bit of a shock but needed to be replaced. We only had the blacking done as she was coming out the water. We didn’t want to have to do it again in 8 months time! Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
My boat is out of the water at the moment for anti fouling and some TLC. Gonna do some walking - Ulverston Canal. Thanks for your video brilliant as ever.
Cabin Cruiser Adventure - Hope you get her back soon then, while still time to cruise in some early Autumn sunshine. Hope the walking goes well. Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
Pip Parker - We didn’t realise you get have them reconditioned, we let the engineer take the old one away as we didn’t want to store it! But that’s a lesson learned! Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
Hi Pat & Eileen, Sorry to hear you bent your prop, unusual that!!! Did you take any pictures of it before it went away? Paint looks like new again👍👍 Slow n steady skipper🤣🤣
Mark NB Last Derbyshire Miner - Hi Mark 👋, yes, not sure how we did it but we noticed that it was really noisy and our propulsion wasn’t very good. Since having the new prop we have noticed that it’s much smoother propulsion and less noisy. We didn’t take any pictures sadly as we just forgot with everything going on. Xx
Thomas James Tannian - Thanks Thomas, we wasn’t expecting to have her out the water so early, but decided to get the blacking done anyway! Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
colin woodward - Hi Colin, we didn’t spend much time in Burscough this time but on our way to Liverpool we were there for nearly a week! It would have been good to see you! Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
Nice blacking and paint job but you've been lucky , usually after a blacking most people have a knock somewhere and scrap a bit off . Audio has been good last few vlogs so keep up the good work :-)
Stephen Kite - Yaaa, !! Thank you, Pat working hard to get it right. We have since done the Wigan flight( vlog our soon) so not looking quite so pristine. 😂🤣😂. Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
lori thorpe - Thanks Lori, a lot of Narrowboat s have a different coloured strip almond the stern end. It was there before, so we just touched it up with some fresh paint. Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
The new paint work spruced up the boat and I bet the new prop makes more thrust. Occasionally I have to send a prop out to get rebuilt so don't throw away the old one and get it rebuilt to have a spare. As always your Vlog was excellent and a pleasure to watch.
Yonatan Ben Avraham - Thank you, she does look great! The new prop certainly does make a difference. Didn’t know you could get them rebuilt, we let the engineer take it away as we didn’t want to store it 🥴. Lesson learned! Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
Ian of SJKartwork -Thanks Ian, it was only a week out of the water but being in the marina for three made it seem much more! Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
Lynn Bigner - Hi Lynn, we have put a couple of shelves up under the gunnels and one above the radiator in the lounge area. Oh, and also just had an automatic washing machine fitted! Makes all the difference but had to sacrifice a set of draws, now where did I put all that stuff!🤔😳. Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
Sharp looking boat! Nice job on the blacking and the blue on the gunnels. I found it odd that the sign for that cafe said “licensed tea room”. Is there many unlicensed tea room in your country?
Jeremy Kamel - the license in this cafe was a license to sell alcohol, not all tea rooms have a license to sell alcohol. Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
Our Narrowboat Quest thanks for the reply. LOL that makes more sense now. Every country has their own ways doing and calling things. In the U.S. we don’t have any tea rooms I’m aware of. I’m sure there are some in niche markets. But like cafes, if we did and if they sold alcohol then they wouldn’t have to have “licensed” on the sign unless they wanted to. Just a different way of doing things in a different country then mine. Just like anything else it’s probably as much custom as anything. Thanks for the explanation! Keep up the videos. Cheers, Jeremy
Mack Mate . Com 👋, a lot of older boats don’t have them, it seems that most modern boats nowadays are fitted with them! Thanks for watching and commenting!👍
Loving your vids how far can u travel without taking the boat out I know Leeds to Liverpool but can u connect to other canals and how far can u go can u go to London by canal
