The amazing thing is that the motor doesn't look huge under the hood of the '57. It has a high rise intake and he didn't need to modify the hood. I usually see these motors in the cars from the '60's and early '70's and they need a hood scoop. I really like how the hood didn't have to me modified, it make the car look extra clean this way. Nice ride!
Tim Patterson thanks. The reason it fit is that we modified the air cleanerbase to sink over the carb. The top of the air cleaner has maybe a 1/8 inch to the underside of the hood.
@Wilder Hugo ... I see this comments everywhere!! Seems to me someone dosent trust your girlfriend she probably gettin that big meat from someone else😂😂✌
That is by far the best looking musclecar ever made. And that the motor and big cam makes for a beautiful symphony of sound. Congratulations on your car.
My dad owns 2 57s a hard top & convertible both running 427 big blocks. I love seeing what other 57 owners are doing. This guy's car is one of my favs. Straight up no bullshit badass 57!!
This 57 looks awesome! The wheels are a little too big for my taste, but at least their in proportion front to back and fill the wheel wells nicely and the style is classic. A tad smaller wheel with a little more sidewall would be perfect in my opinion.
I'm usually a total purist with the love of my life - the '57 Bel Air - but, I must say, that is an awesome resto-rod. Kudos to you for keeping all the details stock. You just can't improve with anything original on that car. The naysayers call it "an over-rated shoebox"? Give me a break. It's gorgeous and tough looking at the same time.
I once heard a old model car sound as it had an awesome 3/4 cam in it. I told the guy that sounds amazing. He said. It should. It took awhile to get the sound on the tape just right. 😒😉😂😂😂😂
I once ask a guy. Why the rims when your motor is all that. He said. Its a sleeper. Got a whole new meaning when it blows the doors off a nonexpecting bad ads hot rod at the light.😂😬
EXTREMELY nice 57. I love the aluminum trim along the bottom of the trunk lid (dealer option, I believe). I know how expensive it is to get a hardtop into that condition. Easy 6 figure car....but who cares, I love it. GOOD JOB!
Beautiful car...Absolutely a spectacle to look at, I just wish cars today were as good looking as these old classics. All you're missing now is some old music to match the generation
I'm in Australia and I love American classics. My favourite is the 1960 Bonneville. I think some Americans take these beautiful old cars for granted. The 50's and 60's American cars I feel are the most classy cars the world will ever see. God bless America!
KennyE1957 Hey Kenny, with all due respect, the old timers have called them motors and power plants since I was a kid. Have you filed a grievance with Generous Motors er I mean General Motors yet? ;) And hot rod magazines have referred to engines as motors for decades. What can ya do?
Simpletons.. look up the definition of V8 A V8 engine is an eight-cylinder V configuration engine with the cylinders mounted on the crankcase in two sets (or banks) of four, with all eight pistons driving a common crankshaft. Most banks are set at a right angle (90°) to each other, some at a narrower angle, with 45°, 60°, and 72° most common.
oooh, dang. nice, fully restored. and a 632. heck, i wouldnt even drive it! i'd be so worried that it'd get a scratch. thats the main reason i dont fully restore vehicles
Beautiful car man. My dad has one black 2-door hard top with the original 283 power pack engine. Couple goodies added on it with a Muncie 4 speed. It's fun but something tells me you get an even bigger smile hitting the pedal with a 632 in it.
Damn brother I'm a ford guy but a 57 tugs at my heart strings!! It sound healthy!! Did u build it or buy it like this!! 632cu inch alot of freedom right their!!😎💪🇺🇸🇺🇸
Is that so..Ya we're scattered about alright. I've bumped into others. We're breeding more. It used to be not so common a name..I'm a west coaster but my dad's family began in Alexandra Louisiana.I've always lived Oregon/California etc
no kidding..small world..there's more Ewing's all the time..we were uncommon in Oregon..where I grew up..Many Ewing's in the South..that's where my dad was born
