Flosports-partner-access/2023 US Open Wrestling Championships 04-26-2023 - 65 Kg Semis - Nick Lee, Nittany Lion Wrestling Club - TMWC Vs Beau Bartlett, Nittany Lion Wrestling Club - TMWC 6bcd
I don't like the grounded rule, but technically it is the right call according to the rules. Nick Lee is on his hands and knees after the shot, which grounds him before Bartlett shoves him out. I think grounded rule should be removed though.
the kicker is people say folkstyle is hard to understand. the flo announcer and the ref clearly had no idea what was going on. but yeah. freestyle is sooo much simpler and easier to understand. clearly.
Bartlett got screwed big time in this match. Time was out when he went out at the end of the first and he should have received a point for the step at the end of the second.
Maybe don't comment half the match about DeSanto? First of all you should be focusing on this match, which was honestly not very good commentary wise. Secondly, you are spoiling the match for people who want to watch.
I think because sometimes it's better to get at least one point on the board rather than attempting a takedown, getting stalemated/grounded and getting zero points, or potentially even getting pushed out yourself and giving up the 1 point.
Bartlett won that! He had criteria at the end. Unless they made a mistake at the end. Once the match is called and wrestlers are off the Matt it’s confirmed.
Casually walking your opponent out of bounds with no intention of attacking nets you two points and the win, absolutely pathetic. Not surprised why this sport has such low viewership.
I guess you just think pushing somebody out of bounds is... easy? This is what sumo wrestling has in it, but I guess they are all pathetic too. This was a silly and blockheaded comment, as the viewership of wrestling has been increasing lately, with the rule changes. You are off your rocker
@@jf8138 I have watched twice as much wrestling then you ever will, and spent double that time on the mat. I'm ALL FOR the push-out rule, and a big fan of Soslan Ramonov, taking leg and arm driving attacks whenever he gets his opponent close to the edge. What I am not for is the blatantly un-even application of the rules. 50% of push-outs that looked exactly like the one at the end of this match, do not get called for even 1 point (the rule implying that the push out should not be counted if not performed as an attacking action). So to call this a push out and a 1 point caution here is ridiculous. This sport should not have ambiguous rules that are un-evenly applied. Viewership should not be difficult, a novice wrestling fan would be confused to see someone casually walk his opponent out of bounds, and essentially be awarded a take-down.
